  • "I have to say this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was absolutely beautiful and tasted fantastic. The service was spot on. When you asked a question about an item on the plate - the answer came complete with instructions about how the chef prepared the item. At the end of our meal, we were taken to the kitchen to meet the chef! What a wonderful anniversary treat."

  • "Great spot overall. Food was good but a little hit or miss. The duck was fantastic. The tuna pretty mediocre. The plating was phenomenal and the ambience great. We'd definitely go back. "

  • "Will is small--very small. But the food is big news. For appetizer my husband had pea soup and I had terrine of foie gras and rabbit. Both stupendous. We shared whole hen of the woods mushroom. For entrees I had gnudi (had never heard of it before) and husband had tuna tartare. It was almost a religious experience! Only (slight) downside is the noise. "

  • "my 5th visit with a visitor to Phila. excellent cuisine with classic presentation, thoughtful combination of tastes in the chef's menu, perhaps best food in Philadelphia, i'm always in search of a three star chef. staff are pleasant and helpful BYOB allows me to drink an excellent wine worth the trip to south of the city,"

  • "Went for Thursday night date night this week. Arrived 630, which was on the early side, but was bustling by 7. One page menu, but lots of tasty sounding options. Waiter did a great job of describing everything and giving honest thoughts on favorites (and things that might not go well together). Food was flavorful and complex. We'll be going back. Love the byob-ness of it."

  • "To start they put a Happy Birthday message on each of our menus which was a nice surprise, and really personalized our meal ! Will byob was such a great restaurant and the service was amazing. Our server was so nice and extremely knowledgeable, he even told us to ask more questions if we had them about the ingredients and cooking styles. TO start we had the Foie Gras, Whole hen of the woods mushroom (my favorite), and beef tartare all delicious. Entrees were the short rib, Duck Breast (my favorite), Oil Poached Albacore Tuna , and the Parisian Gnocchi all delicious again. For dessert we did the Pot de Creme (amazing you have to try), Chocolate Ganache, and a special cheese. All in all great experience"

  • "This was my GF and my first visit to Will BYOB. Everything was outstanding. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly. Our server knew the menu incredibly well and helped us understand some of the unusual ingredients in a friendly, professional but casual tone (which is how it should be). The food presentation was pure Art. The flavors were intense and complex. Every bite brought more joy. The noise did get very loud as we worked our way through dinner and the dining room filled up. Will BYOB is a dining destination. Highly recommended!"

  • "From the first bite it was heaven. Totally enjoyed the first course of snails and the second , a roasted pork. The signature banana desert was refreshing but not heavy. Like a great date we made another reservation before leaving the restaurant."

  • "My friend and I had dinner at WillBYOB on the advice of a friend who is editor at a trade magazine in the restaurant world. He is unfailing in his ability to identify rising star young chefs who are a bit off the beaten track. This gem is in that tradition. The service is professional without being stuffy, the menu is an inspiration of local ingredients, and the cooking and presentation are characteristic of restaurants at twice the price. It is the sort of small , unpretentious place that understands the importance of attending to the details . All that and BYOB"

  • "We attend on a sunday when there was a fixed menu. I had seen an item on the previous menu that was very appealing. We were there for a special occasion and the chef was able to add the item and add a cheese course. They were so accommodating. The food was absolutely amazing, the flavors blended so well and the high quality ingredients made for an memorable meal."

  • "My friends and I dined at Will this past Friday. Initially we waited 30 minutes past our reservation time, but because of the limited space, I wasn't terribly upset. The menu was limited but decent options were all around. We all enjoyed our meals, though dessert left a bit to be desired. The entire night, I just felt like the plates were trying too hard. The Lilly was guilded...then guilded again. A lot of unnecessary items on the plate, that actually took away from the meal. Overall, still an excellent meal, though given the option I would try another new spot before heading there a second time."

  • "Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Nouvelle portions. Very attentive service. I made the mistake of having a few bourbons next door at Noir before dinner... so I was hungry an hour after dinner. I would go here again."

  • "This was my first visit to Will and it did not disappoint. Each dish from appetizer through dessert was expertly prepared. I had a fois gras and rabbit turine for an appetizer and 72 hour short ribs as my main course. Each was expertly prepared and presented - feasts for the palate and the eye. The desert "tray" is not to be missed! You are served each of the three desserts along with the cheese of the day on a slate board accompanied by the most delicious freshly made sorbets and other tempting sauces plus coconut dust. My dining partners also raved about their sweetbreads, Arctic char and a fabulous mackerel crudo. Be prepared for an intense noise level."

  • "I can't say enough about our dining experience at WillBYOB! The food was amazing. The serviceq was lovely and friendly. Everything about our evening there was wonderful. Do not skip dessert or the French press coffee. For sorbet lovers, you are in for a real treat.... The most amazing sorbets: creamy, fresh and wonderful flavor combinations. Will is a true gem."

  • "Enjoyed the entire experience, from the server's fantastic detail knowledge of the foods, their fine-art presentations, the novelty of the mixtures of ingredients through the extraordinarily varied and diverse flavors. Wonderful find, definitely going back!"

  • "We came here for the Tuesday night tasting menu ("Philly Circa 1973") and loved the experience. You have to give props to a chef who can make snails, tripe, bone marrow, and prosciutto ice cream craveable! Although the atmosphere is pretty 'plain', I actually loved that aspect. Will BYOB is all about the food. This ain't Steven Starr, but would you want it to be? No. Come here for the thoughtful, artful, and intelligent cuisine."

  • "I am in town only for a few days and knew this was one of the restaurants I needed to dine in. I made a reservation for 1 and was pleasantly surprised to find a tasting menu available on a Wednesday night when I arrived at this tiny but comfortable space. Typically the tasting menu is a Sunday and some Tuesday thing. Chef was even kind enough to tailor the tasting for my "fins and feathers only" (or- nothing with 4 feet) diet. I happily ate my way through my meal with just great food and my Cabernet as my date. The staff was very welcoming and the food was spectacular. If you have the chance to eat at Will BYOB take it!!! If you don't then you should make the chance! PS- have the duck :-)"

  • "All the food was very good. Ingredients were unique and every dish had interesting levels of flavor. Wasn't too impressed with the pulled pork ravioli special. The duck was incredibly well executed...really delicious. This duck makes Parc's duck look like McDonalds. My only complaint is that both me and my date commented on how the chairs seemed a bit uncomfortable - and there seemed to be an unusually large amount of black pepper on the radishes of the hen of the woods appetizer. That being said, it was a really enjoyable tasty mushroom to eat and we had a very nice night. Service and ambiance were great. Not living in the area though, I don't think we'll go back, there's so many restaurants where we live, but I'm glad we gave it a try!"

  • "Will BYOB has joined the ranks of Bibou as one of our most repeated weekly dinner date destinations. We introduced another couple to Will this time, and had an excellent meal. And we had a nice table that allowed us to chat without hearing others. Between the first course, shared mid-course gnocchi, entrée and desserts--there was nothing that disappointed. The artistic décor of the dishes, with unique flavors and accents is what makes things different. Next time--we are finally going to try the tasting menu, which sounded superb."

  • "Went to Will for EPass Restaurant Week, and we were thrilled. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. It was a little smaller than I had thought, but once you were seated, you didn't even notice. I can't wait to go back again!"

  • "Everything from the service to the food were amazing. Incredibly accommodating front of the house staff, very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. All the dishes were very well executed, creative and fresh. My cousin and I loved the cheese plate, the accoutrements that came with the cheese were so well thought out and blended so well. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "All the plates that came out were beautiful. However, I felt that most things were a bit underseasoned. The crudo was borderline bland. The gnocchi was made perfect, but they don't toss it in sauce and you have to work hard to get it covered in the sauce on the plate to give it enough flavor. The sweetbread appetizer was good, but smaller than you could imagine. You get literally 4 bites of sweetbread and some carrots for $14. I really just expected more flavor from everything. The only wow bite was the chickpea panisse. Everything else was well executed, but did not stand out."

  • "Even with a major change in service staff, the attention to detail remained and the food was mighty fine (but not enough sweetbreads)."

  • "The tasting dinner was fantastic!. At the suggestion of our waiter we got everything on the menu (it is setup for a couple) and we each shared each course. Starting with the opening salad and then mushroom appetizer and the parsnip puree, we knew we had a winner. We added an al la carte oysters with sorbet/trout row which were out of this world. Chef Chris provided an awesome liquid filled bon-bon between some of the courses-so good!. When we got to the entrees of cobia and duck breast not only were they great but I was tempted to lick the plate! Desert and a great pot of french press coffee ended the evening. We brought a bottle of Amarone to enjoy with this meal...thank you Chef Chris and Will BYOB staff...you are awesome!"

  • "The food was amazing at Will. The one sticking point was that I made a reservation for 9:30 and wasn't seated untill 10:00. Will has been around long enough to know how to stagger their seating properly and I found having to wait 30 minutes (with no bar*) when I made a reservation unacceptable. Some places can get away with running behind, Will is not one of them. We literally were forced to stand 2 feet away from the other patrons staring at them to leave for 30 minutes. It wasn't a pleasant experience for us, or I'm sure for them. Upon being seated we were bombarded with a series of disorganized servers. At one point a server approached us and asked if we would like more bread. We accepted and he never returned with the bread."

  • "My wife and I dined here the day after Valentine's Day and were thoroughly impressed. This is definitely one of the best restaurants we have visited, ranking up there and perhaps even above the "big guns" of Philadelphia cuisine. If you haven't tried Will yet, get there as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed."
