The white linen napkins rub off on black so you'll be white fuzz-ball covered if you're wearing a dark color. Ask for a black napkin. They'll be happy to give one to you. "

  • "Being our first visit to Tucson and not knowing where to eat we took a chance on the Wildflower after seeing their ad in the hotel visitors magazine. We could not have been happier with the selection. The restaurant was beautiful and lively and the food and service was excellent. We were surprised to discover the restaurant was owned by a group that owns many restaurants and will be visiting their restaurants in California as soon as we have a chance."

We don't eat inside any longer because the decor is so oddly....velvet. We certainly recommend it as a fun evening out or nice lunch with friends."

  • "Food was fair but compared to the price, not a good value at all. Noise level was horrific! It was nearly impossible to talk. Wait staff changed throughout lunch and none of the staff were attentive...no one asked if food was ok, if anyone wanted coffee or dessert, etc. None of the members of our party would return as a first or second choice of lunch meeting restaurant."

  • "I started with a salad that was good. The homemade pasta was quite good. Forn dessert i had Spikes special, which was a chocolate silk cake special that was one if the 10 best desserts I've had in my life. It had layers of devils food cake and topped with a raspberry and chocolate sauces."

  • "We went based on the online menu (Monday dinner special), which, after we were seated, we learned was three months out of date. Hence, no special. In lieu of the special, I had a steak, which was fine but not great. My wife had sea bass, which was excellent. Service was very good. But the room was uninspiring and a mismatch for the menu, which resembled that of a casual neighborhood eatery. Prices were on the high side but not outrageously so. If you go, call ahead to reserve an outside table and don't rely on the menu that's posted online."

A wait for the dessert was a fabulous surprise as our group was not aware that the pineapple upside down cake was baked to order.   • "VERY disappointed. It has been a long time since I have been to a FOX restaurant. This visit won't bring me back any time soon. I ordered the fish special, a barramundi with a corn rissoto. The fish was the smallest portion I have ever seen in a restaurant! Thin and small. The rissoto was delicious, as was the bread with olive oil. Maybe the forgot the vegetable, the plate looked way too big for what they served. For my $28, I could've had 2.3 of their burgers, which would've been a much better buy!"

  • "Three of us had lunch here recently and enjoyed the meal and service a great deal. Our salads were tasty and large and the fish and chips was equally good. The fish was fresh and lightly battered. The ice tea was great and the service friendly, professional and attentive. Make a reservation even for lunch. It is very popular."

  • "Great meal. Service started out slowly. From moment of seating to service of drink was 15 minutes. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, especially the edamame potstickers and huge bowl of mussels with garlic toast. Key lime with blueberry marmalade dessert was incredible. I would highly recommend Wildlower. They are busy on Tuesday nights because of their half off wine special. The outdoor seating area is lovely, inside, the tables are oddly spaced and arranged, it was a bit cramped."

  • "Although the food was very good - I was looking forward to the Monday night Prime Rib special that was advertised on their website. I had booked the reservation for my vacation in Tucson and was looking for to the Prime Rib. Not only did they not have the special - they did not even offer prime rib as a menu option. The waiter's only response - that's a summer special only - when asked why it was listed on the website, he had no answer. No apology or even a glass of wine as compensation."

  • "I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant for the second time in four weeks. The menu, which is seasonal, had not changed since my last visit. I ordered the fish special which was steelhead and was delicious. Two of my table mates had the spinach pappardelle with chicken and the third had the Korean BBQ beef tacos. Everybody was pleased with the food and the service. If I had to pick two things that were misses they'd be the dessert menu which was decent but I thought should change more than seasonally (wouldn't their pastry chef want more of a challenge?) and my main gripe is that the inside dining room is really loud! If you are hard of hearing be sure to request outside seating when making a reservation."

  • "I loved the quiet table on the patio with the awesome view of the mountains at sunset. They provided a kaleidoscope of colors from burnt orange, to purple, to midnight blue. The fresh bread, salads, hand-made pasta, and dessert menu were to die for. Reserve a table on the patio - the noise level inside was high. The chef was creative and the wine list had a favorite chardonnay, one that I had not been able to find for some time. This restaurant was worth every penny of the taxi-ride from the center of Tucson and a highlight of my trip to Arizona."

He hinted that our complimentary dessert was going to be larger than we may think - so he even said skip the salads after a small appetizer. Very reasonably priced for a nice meal.   • "After Wildflower adopted "Tru Foods" menu items, the menu didn't appeal to us. We tried a couple of times and then took a break. This was our first dining experience in a year and we were wowed. The menu has healthy choices, outstanding quality meat and seafood and variety. The quality of my steel-head salmon was over the top terrific. The portion sizes are good, but not obscenely large. I've had better service at the restaurant in the past, but this experience was adequate."

  • "A colleague and I had dinner and it was just great. I had the paella & she had the scallops with black rice. We agreed that both were excellent although my paella was a little loose and lacked the crunchy bottom. But it had a perfect amount of heat and all the seafood and chicken were cooked perfectly. She had the key lime pie for dessert and loved the interplay of tart & sweet. I had the salted caramel pudding which was outstanding."

  • "We took a dear friend out to his favorite place, Wildflower, Tucson. We were not disappointed! Fabulous food, very friendly wait staff full of information. Quiet enough to have an enjoyable conversation. We would go back anytime! Another family was sitting nearby with a young daughter and a toddler. They were well taken care of by the staff and obviously had choices on the menu for the children."

  • "One never knows which Wildflower will be in evidence on any given night. The one with the semi-invisible wait staff and grand cuisine, or helpful and attentive service with flawed kitchen output. Fortunately, they odds are with you that it will only be one or the other. Not that all the dishes are praiseworthy and the menu is quirky, but we keep going--and hope for the best. Lukewarm soup is not acceptable of course, nor is an inadequate description of it. But if we grade on the curve it is--on balance--more fun than irritation. If I'd been able to get more than two glasses of wine through the glacial meal pace it would have helped"

  • "If you want a quiet romantic dinner, this lacks the quiet aspect in part because of the restaurants own acoustics, and in part because the patio sits at the edge of a busy parking thoroughfare. But the food was terrific, the service excellent (quick, friendly, accommodating in every way), and I would not hesitate to go back. There is a small pleasant bar area where you can start with wine or other beverages while enjoying the yummy smells coming out of the kitchen and to tables. The place is quite lively, and the clientele pleasantly varied. It doesn't demand that you dress up, but it is an opportunity to do so in our generally casual city."
