Diner Reviews
  • "The food was tasty; however, the service aggravated me. Our server was condescending when I asked a question about the menu, and the food runners were overly earnest in a horribly annoying manner when presenting the dishses. Maybe I just don't get excited about organic butter.... But, food is good. Worth the price? Probably not."

  • "Wildflower always delivers-- drinks, food & service. One of 'those' menus where you could order whatever-- and it's going to be fantastic!!! ❤️❤️❤️"

  • "Food was OK but definitly overpriced. Waitress was rude and unattentive during the service but at the end of the night she made an error on her debit machine ( undercharged) and I made her aware so she could correct. Then when she was done I gave her 15% on 115 dollar bill. The machine said it was 17.25. Apparently when the bill came out it said tip was 2.33 cents. She came storming over and called me out in front of the restaraunt and my companion for my tip and then stormed off. I would have paid the tip in cash had she not been so rude and classless considering this was their mistake. This was my third time there as it is close to where I generally have client meetings, but will make sure I never go to this restaraunt again."

  • "My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and we have never had a bad meal, Server or wine. The ambience is fantastic and it is a very relaxing place to dine. Highly recommend you get a reservation!"

  • "We were on a date night and chose this restaurant based entirely on reviews. Everything was wonderful. My husband is celiac and they accommodated his choices with every course from the "amuse bouche" to bread service to the main course. I had a very hard time choosing a meal because everything sounded so good. Relied on our server for a recommendation and I was not disappointed. We ate every bite of our selections. Quality of this service and food comes at a price - with 3 drinks, two apps and two main courses - our bill was $170 before tip. We will definitely go back and would highly recommend the Wildflower."

  • "The Wildflower has always been a great spot to get a filling and most delicious lunch. The clubhouse with fries was my choice and it was awesome. The fries are my go-to each time I eat there. Although, I have to say I was unimpressed with their new coffee process. I loved their old French press coffee with the warm cream, but now they have (or at least I was given) this one cup coffee press. I don't care for the new press as it resulted in more grinds in my coffee and each timeI wanted a cup of coffee, I had to ask and then wait two minutes after they brought it. Despite my coffee irk, I still will continue to come back to the Wildflower."

  • "I've been to Wildflower Grill a number of times and have never been disappointed. Always good service, great food and I'm a fan of the little extras between courses!"

  • "The service was amazing the night we ate out. Food was great, beautiful presentation and tasted great. Best crab cakes I have ever eaten in Edmonton."

  • "We went on a date during Edmonton Dining Week. The server was very friendly. The food was okay but we weren't impressed, though it may have been the limited options from the Dining Week menu."

  • "I was very impressed with the wild flower grill, the food was fantastic and the mesquite grill fills the restaurant with a pleasing aroma that gets your taste buds tingling. i had the 10oz new york with truffled mac and cheese with the twice baked bacon fingerling and was blown away. the mesquite grill adds an amazing flavour to the steak and it was cooked perfectly. the meal was quite large considering many restaurants have started to have smaller portions. i have recommended this restaurant to everyone that i have seen since eating there and will continue to do so."

  • "This is the kind of restaurant where you dream about the meal for months afterwards. The ambience, the service, the menu...everything is incredible. My favorite restaurant in Edmonton and my first choice fir any special occasion."

  • "Second time being there. Ordered 3-course meal (downtown restaurants festival) + salad. No wine. Wonderful chicken and seafood dish. Would definitely go again for special occasion. Service outstanding."

  • "Delicious opportunity to try out the Wildflower grill during Edmonton's downtown dining week. The soup du jour was cream of pea and it was the highlight of the meal. It was beautifully seasoned and the smooth texture was perfection. The pork tenderloin was tasty. It was paired with beans and some pickled veg that was a bit too overpowering for me. The wine list was extensive, but a bit expensive for those on a budget to sample. I enjoyed the friendly and efficient service that we received."

  • "My Aunt was in Edmonton for a funeral and needed a place for lunch while waiting for a ride to the service. She is very particular about her diet to say the least. She raved about Wildflower telling me that I made the "perfect" selection for her. She said the food was wonderful and that the chef met her requirements without fuss or reservation. She loved the artwork and the staff was friendly, attentive and professional. Well done, thank you for tending to my lovely but exacting Aunt!"

  • "My husband and I thought we would stay at the matrix and enjoy a nice meal and wine without the hastle of having to drive. We both ordered a $50 meal from the dining week menu thinking it would be a great option. I had the chicken and was disappointed as it had a sweet syrupy sauce and my husbands pork loin left him hungry after his meal. The salads were nice but the dessert was not good at all. We both only tasted and left the rest. I would not usually say anything but the waiter made us feel so uncomfortable with his attitude askin us odd questions and having odd remarks. Sorry for such a bad review but I would not have if not for this emIl requesting my opinion."

  • "Great evening, good service along with good food. Two issues, noise level very loud and seating was right at the front door. Disappointing especially when reservations were made over 3 weeks in advance. Not very private, lots if traffic."

  • "This was my second visit to this restaurant and did not disappoint. The atmosphere allows you to have a very nice visit with your friends without a high noise level. Very relaxing. The food was outstanding and the restaurant ensured that my meal met with a severe allergy restriction. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We went for dinner early evening and the athmosphere was lovely - one of those places you can carry on a conversation and didn't feel like you had to shout. The food (Seabass and Mesquite Smoked Salmon) was absolutely delightful. The portions are on the smaller side, which I personally prefer - for me it was the right amount of food to enjoy! The Wine List is extensive - so lots to chose from. I would like to see more medium range priced reds ... Spanish etc. Our server was delightful .... as she mentioned a newer addition to the staff. Also she was not as experienced and experienced as the manager who helped out, I am sure she will grow into the role if customers will allow her to."

  • "I've been to the WIldflower two times now and each time was fantastic! The service is great, the food is unbelievably tasteful and so delicious. I recommend the Wildflower to anyone who asks about new restaurants in Edmonton."

  • "Fantastic food, and an amazing menu. Each component of the dishes was well thought out and purposeful in its flavor. The scallops were delicious, as were the mains. As for dessert, definitely try the creme brûlée. The amount of flavor that is infused into the raspberry one is unreal, and the texture is perfect!!"

  • "Loved the scallops!!! Considered ordering a few more and skipping my entree!!"

  • "Very good food. We had salmon and another fish that was on the menu.. sable fish? cannot quite remember. But they were both very good. Service was excellent. Chocolate dessert, black forest cake deconstructed also a hit with the birthday girl. Coffee was awesome! Second time at the restaurant will go back again. Dinner for two with tip was 160.00 expensive but worth it to two foodies. Beautiful presentation feeds the soul."

  • "The food was delicious! The menu looked so good it was hard to choose. We really enjoyed the fun little extras like the amuse bouche and the brioche. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will totally be going back to Wildflower Grill."

  • "The food was amazing. My friend had the Ceasar salad appetizer, and the salmon for her main meal, she said it was all excellent. I had the Sour Cherry and Maple Glazed Duck Confi for the appetizer, the Chilean Sea Bass as my main meal, and the Deconstructed Black Forest Cake for dessert, it was all cooked to perfection and very tasty."

  • "The food was amazing, the service was spectacular. The only thing i wasn't a fan of was the 18% tip added to my bill because it was a party of 6 or more guests. Personally, i would have tipped more if the choice was up to me."

  • "Good food but very small portions. My lunch was the size of normal appetizers. Very noisy as well and difficult to have a private business meeting."

  • "Had lunch with my wife and a friend. The wife ordered the Kobe Burger, which she mentioned was great as usual. Our friend and I both ordered the Roast Beef/Yorkshire Pudding. We both asked for the meat to be medium rare, as carved. Mine came out looking like it was overcooked in a broiler, to a medium-well. My fries were luke warm at best. I just noticed after looking at your online menu again that neither of us received any horseradish jus. I've ordered this meal a few times before, and this we definitely the least enjoyable experience I had. Because we were on a tight lunch schedule, I didn't want to make it an issue while I was there. Thankfully, the wine was good and the service was exceptional."

  • "Received a gift certificate from our son for the Wildflower Grill, the wife and I had a wonderful time, service was warm and friendly and the food was delicious! Some of the tables are a little close together but all in all we'd go back in a second."

  • "We had a wonderful pre-valentines dinner at the Wildflower Grill. Our table was at the back of the restaurant which was nice and private, however a very small table and close to the bar (my only criticism of this place). Our server was very professional, and the food was delicious, and fairly priced."

  • "I had essentially a seafood stew for lunch and left feeling unsatisfied. The seafood portion was delicious to be sure and consisted of shrimp, mussells and clams in a tomatoe based broth. I was unstatisfied because there was one lonely mini potatoe in the dish to round out the small portion. I would have liked to have more potatoe or perhaps more veggies. And in the end I was still hungry when I left. Bread did not come with the meal and had I realized that earlier I would have ordered some. The server was not that timely so in the end I did not bother. Full marks for flavour however!"

  • "Service was a little uncomfortable to begin with due to the awkward door way entrance which has you loitering among tables while they get your table ready. Should have been ready as we were asked to come later than our reserved time. However this issue was overtaken by the superb food, well presented and with little extras delivered by kaylen! What a pleasure he was, don't lose him please! Will return on a more organized evening and would recommend this. Compliments to the kitchen, they rocked."

  • "The mesquite grill braised beef short rib had clearly been sitting for some time. It was cold and gray on arrival, the sauce, too (and it was too sweet). The smashed potato also was cold. The meat was tasteless."

  • "I treated a colleague for lunch (Feb 6/14) at the Wildflower Grill. It was very convenient to our office-just a short walk-and it came well recommended. After being seated and reviewing the menu, we had our orders taken promptly. Our plates arrived quickly so we didn't have to rush through lunch to return to the office. We both had the Alberta beef, poutine style, with Yorkshire pudding. For my dish, the meat was cooked medium rare as requested. The gravy was hearty. The Yorkshire pudding was crispy, not greasy, and it soaked up the gravy and cheese curds. It was an excellent dish on a cold day. Our server was attentive but didn't hover. Overall, I was highly satisfied with the meal and experience and would return."

  • "Absolutely loved the appetizers and dessert! I was a bit disappointed with my chicken for my main course as it was dry and flavourless... But would recommend the duck confit to anyone!!"

  • "My friend and I wanted to try somewhere new so we booked a table at the wildflower. The service was amazing and the food even better. Everything is fancy and has about 12 words describing what it is but man was it ever delicious. The one bite appetizer and the sampler plate at the end were the perfect touches. There was just the right amount of one between courses so that you were never too full or too hungry. And everything was reasonably priced! Two thumbs up. I will definitely be going there again."

  • "For the price of their food, i was extremely disappointed with what we got. 17 dollars for 2 crab cakes?? i know a lot more places where i can get a full meal to myself and have it be better than those- they were just mediocre. I also found what looked like a fishbone in my lamb and almost swallowed it.. They assured me it was just a bone off of the lamb shank and i shouldn't worry- nothing at all was done with this. In a restaurant with such credentials, i expected more of an apology and maybe even a discount. If anyone is to swallow something like that, it would be big trouble. Overall i would not recommend this restaurant based on this one experience. Service wasn't the greatest and it was overpriced for what we got."
