A word from Wildfish Seafood Grille - Scottsdale
The only thing primitive about Wildfish Seafood Grille is the swimmingly fresh seafood -- mostly caught the day before and shipped next day on ice. Otherwise, this cosmopolitan bistro is as sophisticated as any fine eatery in New York or Vegas. Burnished wood, dim theatrical lighting, cozy tables, a stylish exhibition kitchen and central bar with several TVs available to catch the game embellish the interior. Veteran restaurateurs Guy Villavaso and Larry Foles (Z'Tejas, Eddie V's Edgewater Grille) have created a fierce seafood-steakhouse combination, which attracts food-loving couples, ladies on a luxurious night out and sexy singles at the bar. Because Wildfish is not as wallet-busting as similar concepts in the area, go ahead and start with a spicy lump crab cake surrounded in a buttery remoulade sauce. If you're in the mood for steak, pick a finely aged filet, rib eye or veal chop.

I thought the food was fantastic! Everything on the menu sounded delicious and it was very hard to choose. I had the scallops and my group shared a salad and snap pea side dish. It was excellent and I cannot wait to go back. The only downside was that it's loud, so keep that in mind when planning for a large group.

The food was outstanding. Both of our fish entrees were well prepared with excellent presentation. Our server was very knowledgable and suggested great wines for us to try. We told her it was our anniversary and she gave a dessert on the house and wrote "Happy Anniversary" on it- which was an unexpected surprise. I highly recommend the the Lump Crab Cake appetizer, the fuji apple salad, the Hong Kong style Chilean Sea Bass, the Alaskan Halibut, and the Godiva Hot Chocolate Cake. Definitely a great place for a special occasion, or if you want a really good quality seafood meal in Arizona. We see why it was voted Best Seafood Restaurant by the New Times- We'll be back!

Food was very good but our side dishes were not served with the entree and followed after two requests almost 10 minutes later. By that point, our entrees were getting a bit cold. While friendly, our server was awol most of the dinner. He informed us about the special desserts which we were interested in but then he never followed up. It was almost 20 minutes after we finished eating when he came to clear our plates. We chose to pass on dessert since service was so slow. We had a reservation but we were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time -- not the end of the world, but no one seemed to have a grip on who would be seated next, we could see other waiting guests growing agitated. Too bad, food is great -- service isn't.

A very solid, versatile restaurant. Casual, hip bar. Nice patio dining. Very good food. Substantial wine list. Excellent service. A great choice when you are looking for a restaurant that does not require a jacket, an entire evening, or a home equity loan to dine.

Overall a really great dinner experience. Great location at the Scottsdale Fashion Center. I had marked that it was an anniversary dinner on my res and a special table was set up for us complete with rose petals and a card from the staff. Would recommend to friends - would dine there again if I was in that part of town.

The service was terrrible. Even after they forgot us in the bar and forgot to seat us 1/2 an hour after our reservation time manager had come by to apologize for the terrible service it still took an hour for them to serve us a wedge salad. I do not recoommend this restaurant for a nice night out.

Table was ready as promised. Service was excellent, our server (Im sorry I forgot his name) was attentive and knowledgeable without being on top of us. I did not expect a birthday card for my wife signed by the staff, that was the first time that has ever happened, a classy touch. Food was great, nice menu for all appetites. Will definately be back soon.

We thought the service was mediocre at best. The waitress did not seem to be knowledgeable about how to prepare fish. Also, the very young females at the check in desk seemd to be overwhelmed when surrounded by patrons. Not in a hurry to return to Wildfish.

He even wrote "Happy Birthday Elizabeth" on the dish in chocolate to make dessert extra special. Service was excellent. We were meticulously attended to. We arrived early and were seated about 5 minutes before our reservation time. We split a salad before the meal. The salad was outstanding as was the main course. We both had fish dishes which we felt were moderately priced and presented nicely. Unforunately we did not stay for desert so we will have to come back for this.

Service was incredible and felt the restaurant wanted us to have an enjoyable experience. One of our dishes ordered was a steak and our server stayed to make sure it was cooked to our liking. We don't normally return dishes to the kitchen, but it was a tiny bit overcooked and our server took it away to replace without making us feel bad at the slightest. Felt that quality and service were at their utmost priority.

Upon arriving we (4) were informed that reservations were running late, so we sat at a side bar. Within minutes a person identifying herself as an assistant manager came to our table and assured us we would be seated soon. We had not yet finished our drinks when we were ushered to a nice table. From then on, service and food were great. Drinks were quickly served, questions about specials and menu items answered competently, and regular visits to the table by our waiter insured we were never to want for anything. Food was spectacular. The scallop appetizer special was outstanding. Crabcakes were declared "Best ever!" Stuffed shrimp supurb. Mashed potatoes had to be returned to be reheated. We all vowed to return. Well done, Wildfish!

We had a really good experience at Wild Fish. I had requested a nice quiet table in order to celebrate my wife's birthday. My request was honored without any hassle; the staff had signed a birthday card for my wife which was waiting for her at the table. What a nice touch. Our waiter was professional, courteous and very helpful. We had a wonderful time and will certainly be back to Wildfish!

My first visit was spectacular from beginning to end. My second visit started off wonderfully. We were greeted warmly and happy birthday wishes were given to my dinner companion. Our waiter was very attentive and we enjoyed our appetizer so much (Crispy Cashew Calamari). My friend's swordfish was wonderful. However, my entree left a little to be desired. I ordered the Crab Stuffed Shrimp. The first piece was good. However, the second piece was raw in the middle. The manager came by and took my plate back to the kitchen. I was returned 2 now overcooked, rubbery shrimp. Our Twice-Baked Potato was also overcooked, nothing like what I had experienced on my first visit. For the price I paid, I expected more, perhaps our dessert comped?

What a nice touch to arrive and find rose petals shaped in a heart on our table because we were celebrating our anniversary. Our server, Jordan, was excellent, as well as Juan, the bus boy. The warm goat cheese salad was delicious while the lobster bisque tasted slightly burnt - great presentation, though. Wine was fabulous! Great job having Mount Gay Rum! Butterfish was out of this world. When hubbies swordfish came out raw, hub ordered my butterfish and he loved it too! Hollandaise came out too lemony and incredibly runny. The free dessert for our anniversary was the best chocolate dish that we have had in years. Even though there were problems with our food, we will come back AND recommend this restaurant! Great job!

Our waiter, Klayton, was the worst I've experienced in many years. Delay after delay: over 10 minutes from initial greeting until cocktail order. Empty water glasses and wine glasses had to be brought to his attention. For each of our three wine orders, we waited more than 10 minutes between ordering and the wine being brought to the table. He brought the wrong entree for our guest of honor, and then argued with him about it (althought guest relations comp'd it). I'll never go back!
