Very lively outside & around the bar. It was nice to have some activity around us since we didn't want to feel too formal. Our service was superb but it was pretty noisy so that the waiter had to bend down close to hear our order. Food wasn't consistently good. Our appetizers lacked flavor (raw oysters & seared tuna). The Hong Kong bass & filet were super! We loved the spinach but the au gratin potatoes were just standard. Both of our desserts were delicious! We melted over the upside-down pineapple cake & ate all of the chocolate ganache cake (on the house for hubby's bday). Our reservation allowed us to be seated immediately, the wait staff was superb, and the food was amazing! It's an art to get scallops cooked just right, and the chef at Wildfish has done it. The swordfish was done perfectly, so it wasn't too dry. You wouldn't expect to get seafood this good away from a coastal town. Great food, superb service and a pretty nice setting despite being located in a somewhat non-descipt mall near a Freeway.
However, don't get fooled, the food is outstanding...

Starting with the martini with blue cheese olives, then appetizer, salad, entrees and finishing with the pineapple cake produced a phenomenal meal. Having dined in many very fine restaurants, this was a rare occasion when I left thinking of absolutely no areas that could have been improved. The wine list was very impressive, including the wines offered by the glass. The fish dishes were both extremely fresh and well prepared. Terrific dinner. Our waiter Matt knew the menu inside out, and made some excellent recommendations for entrees and wine. The Hong Kong Sea Bass and the Parm Crusted Lemon Sole were both terrific! The truffled mac and cheese was also a stand out. We got a free desert because it was our first time there and I think that is an excellent way to get people to come back. I cannot brag enough about the service, by far the best we have had in San Antonio!!

With white coat waiters and an upscale wine list, this is a go-to place for fish. If you can sit on the patio although there is no view the patio surroundings are tastefully done and the noise volume is dramatically decreased. One word of caution is the noise level in the restaurant.
