Diner Reviews
  • "From being seated to a follow-up thank-you email, we received absolutely outstanding service. We loved our waiter Manny."

  • "The fish is fantastic. I had the grouper and my wife the sea bass. It's rather pricey. I can't understand why they cannot put a vegetable on the plate. To be fish going solo on a plate is not a good meal presentation. The sides are designed for a meat menu, except for the brocollini which I had and which was excellent. Oh, I should mention that the crab cake was great. We shared one as an appetizer, but I could see ordering 2 of them as an entree."

  • "I am very picky about crab cakes and my husband is not really a crab lover. However I have to say that the crab cake at Wildfish was the best i've ever had (and I would humbly say even better than mine). Donna, our waitress, was outstanding-- extremely knowledgeable with a great personality, making our experience thoroughly top -notch."

  • "If I could give service a 6 or 7 I would. It was exceptional. Everything we ate was fantastic - I don't think you can go wrong. Extremely fresh, perfectly prepared, lovely combinations of flavors and textures. The portions are huge -next time we will share appetizer, salad, entree - and the only unfortunate aspect to that will be fewer things to taste. A great restaurant and experience."

  • "Went to Wildfish for my sister's birthday dinner this last Thursday. She actually arrived first and found a personalized card and a rose waiting for her at the table. She thought I arranged this for her, but it was all part of the Wildfish experience. Started with drinks - superb martinis and margaritas. Our server, Kandace was super attentive all night and we wanted for nothing throughout the evening. She made all of us feel special. The food was exceptional. Highly recommend the Ahi Tartare appetizer, the Wild Mushroom & Goat Cheese Salad, Chilean Sea Bass, & Swordfish. Shared my sis's complimentary birthday dessert Creme Brulee - she had her pick of anything on the menu! It was wonderful. Dinner for 4 was under $300 + tax & tip."

  • "We enjoyed some of the Asian dishes this time and they were delicious! Spicy shrimp, Chilean seabass, steamed asparagus and the crab fried rice. We were super full and had to take home our baked coconut Alaska. Make sure you order this dessert. It is amazing! We can't wait go back next month and try more dishes. Service is always excellent."

  • "Went to Wildfish for a dinner this week. The food was generally very good. Started with the Tuna tartare. Nice flavors. If anything, the service was a bit too fast - the appetizers were out within minutes. For an entree I had the Chilean Seabass steamed Chinese style. It was very good - good well, nice flavor. Overall, a very good meal with good service."

  • "I had some of the best scallops ever. The rest of the party all enjoyed their fish very much. We need to go back!!!"

  • "Initially, the noise level was startling. Fortunately, our corner seats were perfect for the four of us to have conversation. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding!! Everything we ordered was very delicious. We plan to return with two different friends."

  • "We decided upon this restaurant because we wanted seafood and it was our anniversary. Well I have to say the reviews were not overrated in the least! In my reservation I simply put "anniversary". At the table was a fresh red rose and a personal hand written note. We had the salt and pepper shrimp appetizer, which was amazing. My wife had the halibut and I had the salmon. We also ordered a side of broccolini and au-gratin potatoes. All the dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. To end it they threw in a free dessert of our choice. We could not have asked for a better dining experience to celebrate our anniversary. We have already recommended this restaurant to all our friends and also suggest that you ask for Edward."

  • "We've been here many times for it is close to home and the seafood is good, albeit pricey. Everything is fresh and the service is always good."

  • "Our server, Manuel, was excellent. The food was well prepared and presented. Wildfish was a great setting for a fun-filled evening."

  • "Some would say that they serve smaller portions with everything ala carte....and a higher price point... I say, I'd rather eat smaller portions ala carte if what I'm eating is of the highest quality and presentation. We ordered crab cake, calamari, BLT salad, seabass, ... ahi tuna, grouper.... every dish was excellent. We did bring our own wine with a $20 corkage fee... that always helps with the total price... Everything came in a timely fashion, service was great..ambiance was good... Fun experience"

  • "Ate here on April 1--arrived as they started serving at 5:00. At this time the dining room was very quiet. The waitstaff was very attentive and helpful. Our party of three each had one of the two specials--AL Halibut and Barramundi. Both were very well prepared and delicious. Didn't try any appetizers or desserts..... A nice place for fresh fish!"

  • "We have been to Wildfish about five times, and have enjoyed the patio, the upper level and just being around the bar as a couple. This most recent visit was for a family gathering in the main dining area, which seemed to be just the right ambiance. We shared the generous portions of the calamari, then adding our own dinner choices, followed by a desert that we also shared. The service is top notch, and the food quality and presentation was highly praised. The wine menu is superb!"

  • "This restaurant has the best food and service of any restaurant around. If you're not happy here, you won't be happy anywhere. Highly recommended. (I have reviewed before so am not going into detail.)"

  • "Was in OC to visit family. Restaurant was typical corporate restaurant. Decor tried to be modern but was poorly done. Food drenched with sauce. Flavor of seafood was lost with sauce. Not recommended at all."

  • "excellent meal- if you want intimacy must have quiet table away from bar- service great- food even better"

  • "Wildfish is a favourite fish restaurant, yes, I know they have other food, but the fish is so good! I particularly enjoyed their Lobster & Shrimp Bisque this evening. Tender chunks of lobster placed in a large rimmed soup plate, then the bisque poured over the top of it. Nice presentation, deliciously rich in flavour. Thank you for another fine meal."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "The entree's were excellent (sole, halibut and sea bass) as was the whole grain french bread. Side veggies were fair (heavy on the truffle oil, but I am hyper sensitive to that) and the lobster bisque was properly served but salty and lacking a bit of body. The salad i had was drenched in the dressing and did not seem freshly prepared. Flavors did not meld as I hoped but well selected combination none the less.It just does not have that special or unique feel due to the urban location. Great service, great creative design for the entrance as well as the entire restaurant. Wine list a bit pricey but not terribly. Good stemware but no decanter offered for a '12 Belle Glos Las Alturas Pinot Noir: No finesse. Smooth but cloying and thick. Yuk."

  • "Took my wife here for our anniversary dinner and the food was great. Being that my wife is expecting, she can have some cravings at times. Steak and Shrimp is what she wanted. Even though her specific wants weren't on the menu, our waiter was very cordial in accommodating us. The desert was delicious and made to order as well."

  • "Our dining experience was wonderful! Our server was very thorough and helpful. At his suggestions we ordered a couple extra dishes and weren't dissappointed. The twice baked potato side dish was creamy and delicious. The bacon had a wonderful smokey flavor. I would have ordered the larger side if I knew how good it was! My husband thought the halibut was the best he has had. The pepper steak was cooked better than most steak houses! Also, have to mention the trufffle mac n cheese too which was a great deal and didn't cost any more than the regular side price! Must order the Godiva chocolate cake . It's rich and definately made for sharing. Looking forward to our next vist already, so many other dishes to try..."

  • "We go a lot. They do a good job with wild caught fish. They accommodate our gluten-free needs pretty well, although we'd like a few more options on the appetizer list. But it's always good, we always eat on the patio as inside is very noisy (never an empty seat at that bar!) and between the fireplaces outside and the planters surrounding the perimeter it's great and one of our favorites."

  • "Very well appointed food dishes with emphasis on fish. Wine list excellent. Service quite attentive."

  • "The flavors just didn't pop, food was bland and service was just ok."

  • "The service was wonderful. Waiters and manager were super attentive. They were great with my young kids even though it is supposedly not a kid-friendly restaurant. The food on the other hand was a bit of a hit or miss. The crab cake was the best I have ever had. The lobster was a bit off and overcooked. The sautéed spinach with shallots and garlic was delicious. The lobster bisque was a bit flat. It just taste like creamy fish broth. My husband had steak tartare and he was disappointed. The kids' truffle mac and cheese should have been cooked more fully but I think they were afraid to serve it too hot it the hot casserole for fear of burning them. Overall, the service was impeccable but the food was not consistent."

  • "What a great escape from chain restaurants. With severe food allergies to onions and garlic I typically just go without, but WildFish cooks real food. The waitress was very understanding and amazingly accommodating. Nothing I inquired about was pre-seasoned or pre-processed. It was all cooked right there in the restaurant, made to order. This gave me the luxury of ordering nearly anything on the menu, something I get to experience very little given the chain food options that cover the landscape. Thank you WildFish for serving authentic food. Food that is fresh and flavorful in a wonderfully energetic locale with fantastic customer service."

  • "Wildfish actually serves great steaks as well as seafood. I like them the best out of OC surf/turf restaurants- and there is truly a lot to choose out of. Among the dishes that I'd recommended- their sole (thick cut but still delicate), swordfish (Oscar style), ribeye (au poivre), and sea bass (steamed with Chinese-style prep)."
