Diner Reviews
  • "I've been to wildfire numerous times. This time, I wasn't extremely impressed. We made a reservation for a booth at 7:15pm. We did not get seated until 7:30pm. Waitress was friendly and the service was great. I came here wanting the Sunday "special" - turkey dinner. They were sold out. I thought, OK, let's try the corn bread they normally serve at lunch. That was also sold out. I couldn't get the turkey and couldn't get the corn bread as a consolation. I had the new york strip...which was pretty good. I've had better but it was cooked right and the wild rice was great. My wife had the swordfish. It was supposed to be an 8oz "steak" but it was more like 5oz of cubed pieces. It was good, though. Overall - good. But, pricy for what you get"

  • "In all my years of eating at Wildfire, this was by far the best. Had the chopped salad, of course, followed by halibut. It was absolutely delicious. Great, attentive service, too."

  • "Wildfire had amazing food and a great atmosphere. The service was great, very professional and kind! There's not one negative thing I could say about Wildfire."

  • "Worst service ever at a wild fire...manager not much better...so very grateful he thought I should be as he did not charge me for a salad I did not receive...bottle of sparkling water hit the table and floor spilled my drink did not even notice and then he wanted to give me his card...WHAT? Clueless really"

  • "We have been to wildfire several times and brought our friends for the first time. They were impressed with the service, the menu and their meals!"

  • "Went to Wildfire to spend time with friends and had a fabulous time. We were seated a little later than what was told to us as the reservations were made through Open Table so they comped us a free appetizer. Thought that's a great policy!"

  • "Good: I order a medium rare rib eye and it was excellent, Baked potato was a little bigger than as smart car and very tasty waitress was fast and attentive. Took the bone from the steak home to the dog and she urged me to eat there more often. Bad: My wife orders the prime rib medium rare and it seems dry with very little taste which was very disappointing as it looked great ! We were seated very close to the distribution area for the food so it seems very crowed around our table at times. It still was amazing hope so much food can more in such a little time before your eyes, But I would have preferred to see how its done on the food channel. Also seemed a little pricey !"

  • "Our waitress was really good. Of course, the food was exceptional, as always."

  • "I always try and fit in a Wildfire trip when in Chicago. The steak is always very good. You do need to book though!"

  • "This is priced like a premium restaurant, but the service was the only part that delivered. The waiter noticed it was a special occasion without being told and brought dessert. But we dine out for the food and it fell short. The swordfish 'steak' was presented as chunks and the broccoli was cold and hard. The rib eye was not on par with those served at several area competitors."

  • "We love the Chopped Salad for lunch-but had it as a starter for dinner. It is consistently great (the dressing is what makes it!) My steak was cooked to perfection and the creamed spinach was heavenly!"

  • "We were in town for a conference at the nearby Westin Chicago Northwest and we decided to dine at your restaurant for a team dinner. The entire group raved about the food and the atmosphere! My boss liked it so much he was recommending it to other conference attendees. Thank you for a great experience! If I ever find myself in the Itasca area again, I will definitely be back."

  • "Always love the food at all the Wildfires. I wish you would lower the noise level down a few decibels. Not conversation friendly at all! Need to improve yor choices of wines by the glass and offer more of a selection. I felt our table was rushed. We no sooner had our drinks when the salad was served."

  • "The service was great but the food was not as usual. The bread for the steak sandwich was not good."

  • "I love this place. My business associates also enjoy dinner at Wildfire-Schaumburg. The wine list is awesome ... chopped salad is wonderful and horseradish crusted filet to die for. I'm always excited to travel to Chicago so I can dine at Wildfire. Please consider opening in St Louis."

  • "Three of us had lunch....always good food and service....our go-to restaurant!"

  • "Wonderful dining atmosphere. The steaks are generous in size and succulent."

  • "avoid sitting in the bar unless that's your thing. Service not as good as in the main restaurant. Booths need a lot of work. Torn and uncomfortable."
    Dined on 8/10/2014
  • "The prime rib was barely warm. The Au-gratin potatoes were cool, not very cheesy and I don't think they were cooked long enough they were still solid. The service was excellent. The dining room acoustics are awful, my husband and I could barely hear each other. The bar is quieter compared to the restaurant. The bartender was excellent. We would come back to have drinks after we have eaten somewhere else."

  • "We have been many times to the Wildfire in Glenview and always had excellent, friendly service. The server was not welcoming and seemed hurried and stressed. They continued to try and take our plates when we were not done eating. The section we sat in was very loud (of course that cannot always be controlled by the restaurant). I had ordered a bison burger medium well, it arrived rare and was sent back. Stick to the Wildfire in Glenview!"

  • "Salad and appetizers were good. Lobster was devoid of taste and Prime Rib was not a prime cut. Service was outstanding."

  • "Wildfire has always been our "go to restaurant" but the last two times we have noticed a noticeable drop in service. Our waitress was more coffee shop caliber than Wildfire caliber. Our order was missing several items. We sat for 10 minutes without being approached by our waitress---also didn't seem to care. Chopped salad was all chips---we noticed that last time also. Disappointing visit, not anxious to return."

  • "Wine came in a soapy glass. Have never seen that before. Waitress apologized, but that is unacceptable. Brought us another glass of wine. Received soup well after we started eating our salads. Had to remind Waitress to bring the soup. Crab bisque contained corn. That is not a preferred ingredient. Leave it out of the recipe. Salads came without dressing- so salad was somewhat dry. Had to ask for more dressing."

  • "Wildfire has a really nice menu. The food is really good, the fillet was very tender. I thought the wine selection was moderate. I would have liked to see some higher end glasses offered with more character. I requested a romantic table as it was our wedding anniversary. They gave us a round booth. The problem was when we sat down we literally stared the couple in the round booth across from us directly in the eye and it was awkward. The waiter was wonderful and gave us good service."

  • "Food quality was disappointing and not up to expectations."

  • "My boyfriend & I went for our 6 month anniversary and sat in a semi circle booth, it was romantic! Steaks were amazing!! I had a feta crusted steak and it was amazing."

  • "went for lunch with a friend who needs gluten free. The server brought tastes of the buns they had, and a full menu of items. It was really good. Other menu items were also outstanding"

  • "My girlfriend, from my hometown, and I meet about once a year. My husband suggested Wildfire as a midpoint between Dundee, IL and Downers Grove, Il. The entrance people were more than welcoming, the service kind and polite. I like steak well done and mine was moist and delicious. Dessert with homemade ice-cream was sinful. We had a great time. Thank you Wildfire."

  • "I really do like this restaurant; the ambiance and the food are really great. The only problem is that the prices are extremely high. Every time we visit, the prices have increased. Also, they used to have a Key Lime Pie Martini on the menu which was fabulous, and they don't have that anymore. Needless to say, my son and I will not be visiting this restaurant anymore due to the prices ONLY."

  • "My wife and I visit Wildfire at least 1 to 2 times a month, and have never had a bad dining experience. The food is always good the ambiance is nice and relaxing kind of like we are back in the 1920's."

  • "I was in a group of five ladies and we came here for a late night dinner. All of us agree that the food was phenomenal. We sampled appetizers, steaks, seafood, as well as some drinks. We were too full for dessert but it looked delicious. The service was very good. Very knowledgable about the menu, friendly, and good speed."

  • "Celebrated my wife's birthday. Both meals were cooked perfectly.. She had med rare filet, with green beans as the side. The meat melted in her mouth!!! Instead of a salad we shared a cheesecake (which was a huge slice).."

  • "Very polite staff, great service, excellent food! Try the martini sampler, it's a win, win!!"

  • "We were celebrating a new job for my daughter. She ordered the special filet medium. It came out well done. They replaced it and gave her credit for her dinner and credit for the mistake. It made the evening worth the trip to drive there."
