Diner Reviews
  • "I ordered the little lobster tail (and I mean little). It was swimming in grease and the parmesan topping was incredibly salty."

  • "Had an enjoyable lunch. Food was delicious, service was swift and attentive. Sound level allowed us to have a conversation."

  • "Loved the food and friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Bartender made a killer Martini! A truly enjoyable evening."

  • "This experience made me realize I am not an a la carte diner. I like some of this and some of that. I would say the best way to enjoy their very good food is to go to Wildfire with a group and share!"

  • "Food was excellent. Waiter and service staff fantastic."

  • "We go here occasionally and usually sit in the bar and have a casual dinner. For our anniversary we sat in the dining room and really enjoyed the entire evening. Our dinner was wonderful, as always, and our server was terrific! She even sent over a little dessert for our anniversary. Never a bad meal at Wildfire; never a bad experience."

  • "Was put in a great large booth in the bar. It was a great table but thought we were forgotten there."

  • "I am a frequent diner at Lettuce, can't remember ever having a bad meal."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner and it was very busy. I had the Chicken Moreno which was fantastic. My son had a New York strip, it came out medium/well instead of Medium/rare and they quickly made him another steak. The au gratin potatoes were so good."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "The beet and goat cheese salad wasn't as good as the last time I had it. You seem to have really cut back on the beets and cheese. It was mostly (too much) greens this time. Our waiter was excellent. He was very gracious in dealing with an older woman in our party who was very fussy about the way her food was cooked. He dealt with it very professionally, tactfully and with friendly humor."

  • "Wildfire is consistently an outstanding place to enjoy an evening of dining and drinking."

  • "A polite and friendly male server introduced himself, saying he would be taking care of us. A blonde female in her 50's interrupted him, saying loudly, "This is my table; that's yours (pointing)". We would have preferred him. There were 4 of us and only 3 tableware wraps (had to ask for another after entrees were served when we could catch server walking by). A side was ordered with the entree but was not served until server was reminded about it minutes into meal. Then it took another 10 minutes to be served. Server did not check for meal acceptance until we were more than half way through the dinner. Coffee refill wasn't offered. This was one of the few times we did not tip our usual 20-25%. Other times, service is excellent."

  • "Food, Service, Ambiance, all were top notch. The only issue that I had was that it seemed that they wanted to turn the tables quickly and get us in and out as fast as possible. On this particular night, we wanted a slow relaxing meal but every course was right on top of the next."

  • "Our sever was attentive, the Copper River salmon was excellent as was the bison burger. A really nice dining experience."

  • "I took my daughter here for a birthday lunch. Food was outstanding as usual and service was excellent. A little pricy but well worth the money."

  • "From the extensive wine list to the excellent food, the meal was perfect. I brought visitors from China (Americans) who said all they really wanted while visiting Chicago was a really good steak. I knew Wildfire was the place. I have eaten many times at the Lincolnshire location and hoped the Glenview restaurant would be equally good. We were not disappointed."

  • "It was my first time going to wildfire and i give it as many stars possible! I made a reservation at 8 and i was definitely seated on time. The staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. I even mentioned to my friend that it was a perfect restaurant for a date! We got the chopped salad and split the small. We even had some leftover. Then we both got the main meal i chose the steak it was made perfectly and was juicy not dry and it was amazing. Our waitress then came out with a tray of desserts which i think is a great idea because you can actually see all the different kinds which helps to choose. I will definitely be coming back!"

  • "Even though we had 7:30pm reservations through OpenTable and arrived 10 mins early we still waited 25 mins to get seated. That is about what it took for people with no reservations to get a table, too!"

  • "Always impressed by Wildfires draw. You see all walks of life and interesting folks."

  • "We enjoyed a nice, relaxing dinner and even stayed for dessert. Our waitress never rushed us and had impeccable timing. As always the chopped salad is a great starter. First time I tried the mushrooms as a side; will definitely order them again. We shared the banana/coconut cream pie and absolutely loved it!!"

  • "We celebrated our anniversary this past Monday for dinner. Our waitress was amazing -- her timing, attention to detail, and calm nature made for an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was very good. I ordered the filet mignon and it was a great quality and perfectly cooked. The wood fired calamari was delicious, just wish there was a little more of it on the large plate it was served on. Overall, I cannot stop thinking about what a great experience we had. Not to mention, the restaurant was full for a Monday. Now I know why!"

  • "The reason for dinner at Wildfire was a special occasion. It is not the kind of place we normally frequent because of the cost. Our party of four was seated promptly, the server was at our table within seconds to take our beverage order, and came back and answered all of our many questions regarding the menu and the specials. The food was outstanding as was the service. The server was attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant was packed so the noise level was rather high but that is to be expected on a Saturday night. We were not rushed through our dinner at all, even though there were people waiting for tables. All in all, a very wonderful evening with great friends and great food."

  • "Didn't know what to expect in a suburban shopping center but we were leaving early the next morning for home and it was close to the hotel. It's a BIG space and that doesn't always bode well. But man, were we in for a shock. After being disappointed at both Japonais and Mexique in Chicago we were burned out on fine dining......little did we know. My wife's chicken in broth made her very, very happy and my daughter couldn't stop raving about the Monday night special, boneless fried chicken and baked macaroni and cheese. I wanted something simple so got barbecued chicken with wild rice. It was perfectly executed and I was very, very happy. The service was the best we encountered along with Girl and the Goat. Please open these in NY Metro!!!"

  • "I must have eaten here a hundred time but this time the service was so BAD that the manager compt. the bill."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "Not exciting and perhaps not the best steak, but predictable and competent at reasonable prices. On previous visits, I've had the ribeye, which was fine. This time I had the porterhouse (which surprisingly is the same price). The ribeye is better."

  • "A group of 5 people came to Wildfire to celebrate my mom's birthday. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was excellent. The decor is nice. Overall, my experience was wonderful. I would recommend this place for other people to try."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "The steaks are great and reasonably priced, well below the so called finer steakhouses in the area. The porterhouse is now my 'go to' steak, very flavorful. Plus the steaks come with several choices of a "side" included in the price. Some side choices will kick up your bill a couple bucks. The service was also excellent. When our party of six was seated we were sort of sitting in one of the main isles to the kitchen and bathroom. When I asked the folks at the reception desk if we could be moved out of the isle they didn't hesitate and moved us to another table, in fact they moved us into their 'wine' room off of the bar area, we couldn't have been happier. The only downside was lukewarm creamed spinach."

  • "Service, ambiance and food are exceptional at Wildfire. Appreciate their flexibility with tweaking choices to fit my healthy diet lifestyle. Warm, friendly, and genuine service."

  • "Always a safe bet for excellent service and good food."

  • "This was hands down the BEST experience and steak dinner that I have EVER had! Each of our steaks was done to perfection and the Beef Wellington, (which I have never had before) was the most remarkable dinner that I have EVER eaten. I was afraid to venture out and try something new, and I am SO glad that I did! I would go back there again and again, ESPECIALLY for a special occasion! It topped off a perfect day with a perfect dinner! Jen Williams"

  • "Wildfire is always a bit noisy, but our latest visit was worse than others. Our table was too close to a large party of 10 next to us and while it wasn't like we were part of the group, the buzz from that noise, including some zealous kids made for a difficult dinner. My wife and I struggled at times to hear one another. Will come back though because the food was very good and made up for the noise."

  • "Server was efficient, helpful and lovely. Never felt rushed. Attentive but not hovering. We shared a large chopped salad as our entire meal. Always great. Price is a bit high for a salad. Tempted by dessert but didn't succumb."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "we have been there several times over the years and find that our last visit that overall experience was somewhat deteriorating in food prep"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "We dine at many of the different Wildfire restaurants (one of my husbands favorites). My husband's macadamia nut encrusted halibut was excellent as always. I tried their fish tacos (I love fish tacos and try them everywhere). Their take is to "create your own" which is nice. The fish was excellent as was the salsa and guacamole. The rice was undercooked and the tortillas were dry and stiff. They need to learn how to keep them both warm and soft. I rated everything as good as that was the average; ranging from excellent to not so good."
