Diner Reviews
  • "The food is ok, but nothing special. The $30 bottle of Pinot Gricio was good. The waitress was pushy. She tried to empty wine bottle right away into our glasses. When she couldn't she showed up in 20 minutes and did it before we could say a word. While we were looking at the menu the waitress came up several times pressing us to order "something to drink". The check showed suggested tip starting at 15%. No way would we give it for such "service". What is really outrageous was the menu on-line, which shows the prices 40-50% lower than the ones you will find when you arrive at the restaurant! We could afford it, but how embarrassing it would be for someone who counted on certain size check on the date?"

  • "Wildfire was the perfect restaurant for a get together with previous co-workers. The room was not noisy. The food was perfect. No complaints."

  • "Usually, I find the restaurant loud but on Tuesday it was toned down. I have had private parties at Wildfire and have had fabulous experiences with a small room. Your food is always excellent and a friend and I eat frequently in the bar, ordering your burgers and a side of roasted veggies. YUM! (We also love to sit outside if weather permits.)"

  • "Our evening started well - we got a table in the back room so we could hear each other vs. the loud main dining room. I ordered the smallest portion of prime rib, assuming it would be quite thick but not a large piece. Unfortunately, it was a very, very thin piece of meat, unlike any prime rib I've ever seen, and was overcooked. Had I known how thin it was going to be I would have ordered differently. The waitress did not come back to ask if everything was all right . She didn't even come back to fill up my water glass so I poured my companion's unused water into my glass. For dessert we had peach melba pie - it was mediocre even though it was pie of the month. None of this ruined our evening - but we won't be back anytime soon."

  • "Returned to Wildfire after long absence and glad we did. We arrived early for a Sunday 6:45pm reservation and, although the restaurant was very busy and we expected to wait, the maître d could not have been more accommodating; we were seated by 6:30 after less than a 10-minute wait. The service was courteous, helpful and friendly, only to be surpassed by the outstanding food. The cedar plank salmon is the best in the North suburbs. Loved it; looking forward to our next visit."

  • "Had a good experience. Menu seemed to be limited but all options were covered. Wine was on the expensive side, they charged the same amount for a glass as for a bottle that I can pick up at Jewel. I liked the different options for flights, everyone enjoyed those. Dinner was good, scallops were cooked very well as was the filets ( person who got the skirt stake said it was over cooked but he still enjoyed it). I would go back again."

  • "I was very impressed with this Wildfire. We had been to Schaumburg and Chicago and this restaurant was outstanding.Treated very well.Food and drinks were spot on. My wife and her friend had the martinis and they were perfect. (Her words.) Able to have a conversation no problem within our group. Very pleased."

  • "Wildfire is one of our favorite restaurants in Glenview. The food is always very good to outstanding. They have always tried to accommodate any special seating requests. The wine list is extensive with quite a nice selection. Our server was outstanding this particular evening even though it was a very busy Saturday evening. You can usually be assured to have an excellent dinner/lunch at Wildfire in Glenview. Great dessert plates too! Definitely a place to try if you haven't..but make reservations. It is very popular!"

  • "The service was rushed beyond reasonable. It seemed as if they wished to turn the table over in less than an hour. The food was as good as ever but the pace of the meal made it impossible to enjoy it. After years of being a frequent customer, I will not be likely to return during peak times."

  • "We have been there on many occasions and this time it was horrid. The put us in the farthest back room, a table in the center of the room and we were surrounded by VERY LOUD parties. My husband had the prime rib and it was inedible. Service was adequate but not good. Then, on top of that, the did not note that we had a reservation and we had to get that straightened out later. They were very crowded and it was impossible to even walk through to exit without taking a number of detours past people just standing around. I would never go back that on a Saturday and am currently disinclined to return for any reason based on this most recent experience. There are other good area steak houses which will get our business in the future."

  • "The service during my visit to the Glenview Wildfire was outstanding. We enjoy taking our time with the meal, and the wait staff was very accommodating. We started with the White Sangria, very refreshing and tasty. The chopped salad is a continual favorite. We tried some new items (Buffalo Meatloaf with Cheesy baked potato) and also some recommended items (Three Filet Medallions) and we weren't disappointed. I would eat there everyday if I could."

  • "Our family comes here at least twice a year and it's always a great time. As much as i love their fish specials, I have found the Savoy quite amazing. The meat is cooked perfect and the crusts are fantastic. Cocktails, service, and ambience are perfect for a nice casual evening."

  • "We enjoy going to Wildfire for a special occasion as everyone in the group can find something to eat. We went for my husband's birthday and loved everything!"

  • "Can never understand why this place is hard to get into. Food is average at best (minuscule lamb chop and dry pork chop as part of the mixed grill) - and the wait staff is no better. Do they not receive training? At $50 plus per head, I expect the waiter to walk around, not reach across, the table when pouring wine or setting down plates! The only dish that received positive reviews were the steaks."

  • "Food was OK, my wife totally enjoyed her meal. Myself I did not care for the ribs. They were overcooked and the barbecue sauce had a strange taste. The service was good, waiter was very attentive. Not sure I would go back again."

  • "Our party of 8 was seated at a small round table that was not big enough in the middle of a crowded dining room. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us. This was a sign of things to come. She did not take our order for over an hour. She kept disappearing for long periods of time. Salads took too long to come out of the kitchen . The wait for our meals was over 40 minutes. They did not come at once. The last meal came 20 minutes after all the other meals. Most of the meals and sides were cold. No one wanted to send food back because they were afraid of how long it would take to get back. The manager made excuses that the kitchen was busy and it was crowded. While they did comp our meals the service was so poor we won't go back"

  • "Our 6:00 dinner took over 2 1/2 hours! Our service was EXTREMELY lousy! We had to get up several times to find servers. We started to flag down anyone who worked at Wildfire to find our waitress. It was the worst service and we had children dining with us. We chose Wildfire to celebrate two birthdays. Also, two entrees were inedible! Two people ordered skirt steak and sent it back. It was WAY too tough to even chew. AWFUL! We were ALL disappointed!"

  • "The salad there is the best. There is ample amounts of greens and vegetables. The house wines are tasty and a good buy. The medium easily feeds 3 people Our waiter was great He was friendly, understanding and helpful. I would definitely come back. It's nice to enjoy a meal and not have to take out a mortgage to pay for it"

  • "We went for dinner and sat outside. The service was wonderful. There was so much to choose from on the menu and everything sounded delicious. The food came out hot and the steak and tuna were cooked perfectly, as requested. All the desserts looked amazing. The ice cream sundae and pan baked cookie were delicious. We enjoyed being able to sit outside on the patio."

  • "Nice assortment of meat, seafood, pasta dishes, desserts. Food is a little on the salty side but overall well prepared. Seafood is fresh. At dinner time gets rather noisy. Ambience is a bit dark. Service was very good."

  • "Wildfire just has a really nice value to their food and experience. A nice sized filet runs in the low $30's and a Bone-In Filet in the mid-$40's which is quite reasonable. My wife and I always have a great time when we visit, rarely are we disappointed with anything we order."

  • "I've never had a bad meal here. The salads are great for sharing as well as the side dishes that come with the meal. Normally, the service is outstanding, but our waiter was not terrific. The only bad part of the restaurant is the noise level. Unless you are in a side room, it is difficult to hear everyone at the table when there are more than 4 people."

  • "Nice patio, food fair. The heirloom tomato salad plate had been pre-prepared with loads of onions on top and stored in a refrigerator, destroying the tomato flavor which tasted like cold onions. None of the three dinners was served hot. The special pork chop seemed as if it had been pre-cooked and then "finished" just before serving. The shrimp and New York steak was only so-so. The filet mignon trio with toppings was tough for that cut of steak. Wildfire charges a pretty penny, which we are happy to pay for a very good meal. However, the quality was just not there this time -- it wasn't worth the price for the mediocre meal served. Unfortunate, as we previously felt we could count on a great meal here. We'll not be rushing back."
