The variety of interesting selections on the menu, and the service are incredible but what has us coming back again and again is the fabulous food. We often dine here with a relatively large party (7-10 people) and everyone raves about the food they are served! From the appetizers to the desserts, and everything in between, it is a wonderful dining experience.

I do love lunch at your restaurant . I am celiac and your waiters are educated on what that means to my dining experience. I do wish however that your menu had a few more options for me. I find myself eating the same one or two options each time I attend. Thanks.

Wildcraft staff were very organized and professional regarding allergies. I had contacted them before our visit and when we got there everyone had been informed about our allergies from the hostess, waitress, manager and chef. We were very impressed. Food is excellent especially the flatbread and burgers. Wine is a little overpriced. Staff go out of their way to please you. Would definitely recommend.

This time round I was pleased that the service at Wildcraft had improved. A couple of years ago, they did not serve any bread at the tables and service was okay. This time round, they provided bread at the table and wait staff was fun and attentive. Food is a bit pricey for what you get but it's not bad.

  • Over-rated restaurant.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014
    Dined on 11/20/2014
I have heard many great things about Wildcraft, but to my surprising discovery when I attended, everything was fairly moderate and nothing special at all. Our group of 4 was seated at a table near the fireplace, but between 2 other tables full of customers. Looking around you could clearly see the restaurant was nearly empty, and there was no reason to why we should be seated right between 2 full tables. The fireplace offered some warmth, but there was a cold draft blowing through all night, and it was more chilly than warm. The prices were okay, but for the quality of food, I would suggest a bit high. The food was nothing special, even though they offered some nice unique selections. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and were quiet when they came around to refill glasses and check on things. Overall, I don't have anything negative to say, just that it was nowhere near what I had expected, and feel the restaurant is very over-rated for what it is. I will likely book a different restaurant for our next business meeting and/or gathering.

First visit here that I was very disappointed, I am usually very pleased. Brought out of town friends for dinner. When we arrived the hostess took us to our seats only to realize the seats were unavailable and had us stand in the middle of the dining room waiting. Waited over 20 minutes for drinks (easy serve too, as it was two bottles of wine). Waited over an hour for appitizers. When meals finally came out we all felt they had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile and we had no silverware left from when the waitstaff cleared the table, so we had to wait to have it brought to table while our meals got cold! Our guest ordered a blue cheese steak, which was suppose to have a blue cheese butter ontop. No blue cheese, so the waitress brought it out on the side but at that point, it wouldn't melt. We spent close to $400 with tip (I'm not sure why we actually left a tip at all) between the four of us and we were all disappointed. Not the service I expect from Wildcraft.

Our experience was acceptable and with a few minor improvements might have been exceptional. The server who told us that she was new was friendly and attentive. The amuse bouche was boring rather than amusing. We both had filet and we enjoyed that they were not huge but they were lacking in flavour. More garlic would help and the Blue Cheese Butter was missing the Blue Cheese; I suggest that you try going over the top with the cheese. The mashed potatoes, like the beef lacked imagination and flavour. Once again a little roasted garlic would improve them dramatically. My desert; S'more something was boring. My partner had a lemon desert and she said the lemon flavour was powerful but the desert was too frozen and icy. The ambiance would be improved by a more relaxing music choice and less volume. There isn't much for sound baffling and so there is just a general din.

I had the mushroom fusilli and it was delicious. Great flavor, lots of mushrooms and a really beautiful earthy flavor. I tried my friends' pumpkin salmon dish as well and that was also lovely. My favorite beer is Rickards Red and they don't sell it there anymore. The bartender offered me something else in the red lagers and it was great. Overall, the atmosphere and food are 5 stars. Their prices are also good. I will eat here again every time I visit Waterloo.

We are at Wildcraft on Friday night. The Caesar salad tasted like wet lettuce and little else. The goat cheese stuffed chicken breast came with the skin on, which is fine, except it was fatty and jiggly. A little crispness would have helped. The potatoes were OK. My husband enjoyed his stir fry. However, we could have had a tastier meal at several of the other restaurants in town. In some cases it would have been less expensive as well. The service was outstanding though. Wait staff was prompt and friendly.

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had an excellent time. The dining room gives a sense of warmth and class even without white table cloths and candles. Service was prompt and informative and did not seem to judge us for being a younger couple a little out of our element. I had the goat cheese stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes. I've never had mashed potatoes like that before, they were divine. The chicken was a little dry but was still good. My girlfriend had the vegetable strudel and it was magnificent. The filling was very tasty and the pastry was perfect. Dessert was also excellent. Definitely would recommend it.

Way...too...long of wait to get a table when half of the restaurant is empty. We ended up using OpenTable to book a table AFTER waiting in their bar area for 30 minutes. After we sat at our table for 15 minutes, our waiter then showed up with some water. Food was okay. It can do better especially with its pricing. Not recommend.

    unimpressed
    Dined on 10/18/2014
The service was off that night. We had to wait at least 20 minutes before the server returned after drink orders. Every course they forgot our cutlery. They comped us these dingy little crackers with some tomato jam and etc on them. As for the food. Scallop app was great, the bacon jam really works. The Steak Frites Presentation was dismal; shoving a large rectangular sauce tray on a small circular plate is very unappealing. The steak was mediocre as well. The Ahi tuna main was a total mess. The tuna was heavily overpowered by the salad. The salad was the main focus of the dish considering that it was more than double the amount of the tuna. The salad was bland, and the ingredients clashed. Under-seasoned. Definitely felt ripped off going.

We recently celebrated our son and daughter in laws 10th wedding Anniversary with our adult children. The atmosphere is great, we can all talk, and the food is wonderful. Unfortunately, this time the service wasn't exactly as we've experienced in the past. Small little things but all added up it made us wonder.... Coming in the door I had to ask where I could hang my winter coat - before that this was automatic. Menus were not at the table, the waiter was very pleasant but we had to wait - for drinks, taking our orders, water was not automatically refilled. We really didn't feel like we were in the restaurant we had known. Sorry if I sound petty but these are all things that make us feel that we're really in a first rate restaurant.

Thanks for a great evening. I usually have the vegetable stir fry - this time I branched out and had the vegetable strudel - it was excellent, but I missed my kimji salad from the stir fry.
