  • "This was an amazing evening, from the calamari and wine at the bar to the fish and pasta in the dining room, we were pleased and pleased again by the service, the food and the ambiance. we love this little Italian gem!"

  • "We shared 3 appetizers with friends that were great! However, when it came to the main course my husband and I were not impressed with what we ordered. The others in our group enjoyed what they had. So maybe we just ordered the wrong thing? One if our friends said it was the best lasagna he ever had! It was very loud and guy 2 tables done was talking loudly to a table next to him (I don't even think he knew them?) and was dropping the "F" bomb. I wish a member of the restaurant would have asked him to tone it done!"

  • "I don't review restaurants. BUT, our server named John was very attentive and very professional which earned him a huge tip. The food was fantastic! I had the specials including the fig and prosciutto and the enormous red snapper. Both were perfect. My wife had the baked penne which she raved about! My 15 year old picky-eater daughter was doing well until the dessert. When I asked if I could taste her Tiramisu (she never had it before) after she had taken a bite, her left arm shot across the table in order to defend her position with a projecting glare from her eyes that said, "DON'T EVEN!" I got a small piece later, Oh Yeah! Just go, you won't regret it. Finally-make reservations, the place fills up quickly even at 5:30."

  • "We have been going to Wild Olive for over 3 years now and it is still our favorite restaurant! We recommend Wild Olive to everyone we possibly can and try to bring new people with us every time we go. I highly recommend this wonderful local restaurant to anyone and everyone!"

  • "Never had a bad meal or even a bad dish. Grew up in NYC from a big Italian family, its very hard to impress me with food that did not come from my grandmothers who both came off the boat . From the food to the staff to the atmosphere great place!!"

  • "My husband and I dined at the Wild Olive twice during our beach vacation. The menu had many superb choices, and there was a great selection of wines! Our meals were delicious from the appetizer course through dessert!! Great service as well. We will definitely be back!!"

  • "I was trying to avoid downtown because of city event traffic, and we found Wild Olive. The food was excellent, the martinis just right, and the house red wine was perfect. The service was excellent too."

  • "I love this place. This food is always so good. We never wait for our table. As long as you have a reservation, they walk you right in. The seating area and restrooms are always clean. The only compliant I would have is that our server was somewhat rude at our visit. She was blunt, not friendly. She seemed like she was ready to leave for the night. She quickly went through the specials and asked for our order right away. We had to ask for a couple of minutes to look over the menu. We had to ask for more drinks, she never offered to get us another one. She also forgot to put in our side order of brussell sprouts but the manager quickly handled it and they were served to us hot and by the manager with a smile and apology."

  • "Most underrated restaurant in Charleston. Great choice, especially if you are on James, Johns, Kiawah or Seabrook Islands. Relaxed, friendly, but well-designed atmosphere that fits its location. The staff is knowledgeable and service-oreiented, but always make their guests feel at home."

  • "The food is 100% delicious. It's so nice to have a 1/2 plate option, too. The wine list is wonderful -- and affordable ! The Italian Mojito is to die for :-) The service is outstanding. We love Wild Olive .... dined there twice and looking forward to returning again and again ! Amazing. Really. Try it. You'll see."

  • "This restaurant is a hidden gem in Johns Island. It has fabulous food and a long beer and wine list! The service was great and the ambiance was rustic and very pleasant. We have eaten in most of the well known restaurants in Charleston and are very excited to have found a new place to dine. We will definitely return and will certainly spread the word."

  • "I absolutely can not rave enough about wild olive. From the service to the amazing food, I love everything about this place. I have eaten here dozens of times and have yet to have anything other than a fantastic experience, which is very difficult to say about most restaurants. Their specials are always delicious. The service is always attentive but never over bearing."

  • "This is a great spot. Food is always good. Lasagna us the best. It's pretty noisy, so if you are looking for quiet, find somewhere else."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Excellent food, atmosphere and waitress. Our party of four all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we all plan on returning. We all llked that you could order a carafe of house wine for $25 and it was pretty good."

  • "We love Wild Olive and the staff there, especially Jason, who is the manager and always makes us feel very special and welcome. He is someone who truly embodies one who has found his passion in a career choice and strives to make your dining experience enjoyable. The staff is always friendly and we find the menu to include Italian favorites with a creative twist, seafood and meats mostly prepared excellently. Our only criticism is that some of the entrees seem a bit overpriced, but others aren't, and the Italian dishes may be ordered in half and full portions. Delicious appetizers and salads! The atmosphere is cottage cozy but modern and attractive, bustling at times, and convivial. We look forward to returning again and again."

  • "This is a wonderful casual place to go for dinner. We went while visiting Charleston and the food was outstanding! Our party consisted of 4 people and everyone loved their meal."

  • "After nearly a week of Low Country cuisine, we needed a break. The Italian food at a Wild Olive was great. I had a grilled octopus appetizer which, to me, is a benchmark. It was very tender and flavorful. From the pastas to the veal scallopine, we all enjoyed our meals. And a special wine lust with $19 bottles was an added plus! We trusted our waiter on that and had a really tasty wine. Lovely room and excellent service. It was hopping on a Monday night. We'd go back in a heartbeat."

  • "We dined on a Monday evening with a 7:30 pm reservation. Always need reservation. Food wonderful . Appreciate the half order pasta dishes. Can be a little noisy...suggest sun room for quiet atmosphere. Great wine list. Bread served at table could be fresher tasting....tends to be dry. Dessert menu needs a decadent chocolate item...warm chocolate lava cake with ice cream!"

  • "My husband and I moved to Johns Island in 2013 and FINALLY visited the Wild Olive. It was FABULOUS!! Fantastic drink specials (strawberry basil mojito was off the chart), awesome waitress (Mel) and delicious food (Scallops). Will definitely visit again."

  • "Took over an hour to get food once ordered; waiter or mgt. staff never approached our table to apologize before or after our experience. Not likely to recommend or return."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The only complaint anyone in my party of four had, was that the dining room was extremely loud. It must have been peaked seating time for the evening, and it was a Saturday night. With that aside, that food was outstanding, beyond expectation! The service was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing."

  • "Real Italian atmosphere--a bit noisy but a lovely experience over all"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Food and service were excellent! Specialties are Italian dishes served with local produce. I have been to Wild Olive many times and have never had a bad experience. In my view this is the best Italian restaurant in Charleston area."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "The food was amazing! They do half portion servings on some dishes so you can try different things. The service was great as well, very friendly."

  • "Excellent Food! Good service is when a competent wait person takes care to do a job well. Great service is when the ENTIRE staff works together to make sure ALL tables are well cared for. Wild Olive has great service. Food came out VERY quickly. My wife's favorite Italian dish is veal scallopini. She said W.O. served her the best she ever had! The place was very clean Kitchen flowed very efficiently and the part I could see was spotless. I had a corner booth with a slight view into that area. Great Wine list. Don't pass this place up, as I did the previous year driving past it many times going into Charleston from Seabrook Island. The best thing I can say is I NEVER take the time to write reviews!!!!"

  • " Great table, great food. They had a special on bottles of wine for $19. They were excellent choices - not just unknown house wines. Excellent service as well."

  • "Our meals (2 of us) were excellent. I recommend the Agnolotti which was superb. We happened by chance to go on a Tuesday evening when they have bottles of wine for $19.00. We had the Cortese - a white Italian table wine similar to Sauvignon Blanc, which complimented our entrees quite well. The affogatto for desert was also superb. The server was friendly and helpful and the noise level was very tolerable even though every table was in use."
