Diner Reviews
  • "My coworkers and I like going out to dinner sometimes as a bonding experience. We like to try new restaurants and we hadn't been to Wild Olive. All I can say is everything was amazing! It took us forever to decide what we wanted to order. Everything on their menu sounds tasty. Our waiter was awesome and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I would recommend getting a reservation, the restaurant was packed throughout the night. Their menu is really well built, there is something for everyone. The special they offered were also very impressive. Great place for a couple to have dinner or a group."

  • "I only wish Wild Olive was closer to Mt. Pleasant! They have the most amazing Italian food - I crave it constantly! :) Love Love Love! A must is the Risotto Fritters, Lasagna and Gnocchi. And man the pistachio chocolate dessert isn't too bad either! ;)"

  • "If in Charleston, whether you are a local or a visitor, the Wild Olive is one you don't want to miss! Everything about this place is well done. From the moment we got there to the time we left, we had a perfect experience. I only wish it was in my back yard because I would be there once a week!"

  • "There was not one thing wrong with our entire dining experience. We had drinks at the bar, then moved to the dining room. Server was great, food was great, wine selection was great! I cannot think of one thing that they should change. Something on the menu for everyone in our group and everyone loved it. Keep up the good work! If you have never been, please go."

  • "Had a great meal, with our reservation kept within minutes of arrival, even though it was very busy and there was a wait of 30 minutes we heard. From appetizers to dessert, everything was made from scratch and done perfectly."

  • "We have frequented Wild Olive many times and have never been disappointed. Again outstanding food, wine and the server Melanie was a gem. Our go to person in the future. We recommend Wild Olive to both local folks and visitors all the time. We consider them one of the highlight restaurants of the Low Country."

  • "We took some friends out to dinner here because they had not visited Wild Olive and I wanted to impress them. Mission accomplished. Everyone enjoyed their meals BUT the half chicken special was the biggest hit! The service was top shelf so Thank You for a wonderful evening!"

  • "We had an OpenTable reservation but it did not matter as we waited longer than in any other Charleston restaurant. We were about 10 minutes early for a 7:30 reservation. At 7:50 my husband went back to the hostess stand. We were seated about 5 minutes later after being asked twice if we settled our tab at the bar. Of course we had - no reason to ask twice especially when bartender had handed us the tap after delivering a glass of wine and a soft drink. Seems like they need some front of house retraining and ways of interacting with guests."

  • "Ate there twice while visiting Seabrook Island. Once with our son (Grocery Restaurant) and girlfriend (Tristan) and they realy thought it was solid. Took other visitors back that week and we loved it as much. The staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable and the food just as yummy the 2nd time. Highly recommend."

  • "Our party of 5 agreed that Wild Olive can compete favorably with any downtown Charleston restaurant. Great food, great service, pleasant atmosphere with a touch of sophistication but not stuffy."

  • "We were able to join the Wild Olive on our anniversary. Once again Wild Olive exceeded all expectations. Whether it be an anniversary or Tuesday the service food and atmosphere makes one feel special. I can not X express how lucky we are to have the Wild Olive in Charleston. Being the only certified Green restaurant in South Carolina is simply icing on the cake. Or the gelato on the cake. Thanks to the staff and everyone behind-the-scenes for making our night special"

  • "We put off driving from isle of Palms to John's Island to try this restaurant for way too long. The food and the whole experience was most certainly worth the effort. We will be back only after we try THE OBSTINATE DAUGHTER on sullivan's Island which is much closer to us. PLEASE don't change what you are doing as you are doing it well! snowbirds from Boston."

  • "Simple acts makes the biggest different, my wife and I arrive at the end of dinner service on Saturday night. When we arrive the restaurant was still fairly full, so the hostess seated at a small two top that was available. The table was find and nothing would have been said. We order dinner and our wine was deliver. Normally at 10 PM, most restaurants staff and management is concern about closing and side work--but a few minutes later before our appetizers arrive, the manager came over and ask if we would like to move to a corner table where some patrons just finish dinner. This does't seem like a big deal, but it made our dinner so much more enjoyable. And to top it off the wine, appetizers, entrees, and service was great!"

  • "We have been fortunate to eat in many excellent restaurants in the US, Europe and the Caribbean and this is for sure one of the finest we have eaten in - not because it was elegant or because of it's location, but because the food and staff were so good. We only wish we lived in Charleston so that we could return and return and return."

  • "We are from Atlanta and visited Charleston for the weekend. We had no plans and were looking for some good Italian. We came across a few restaurants but decided to try Wild Olive on a whim and we absolutely LOVED it! The food was fantastic as was the service. Our waiter, John was very attentive and took great care of us! We've been to so many Italian restaurants but this one was by far the BEST we've ever had! It was a great price too! We loved it so much I even bought a t-shirt! I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting (or living) in Charleston. Don't forget to make a reservation, they get very busy!!"

  • "On our annual stays on Seabrook we look forward to meals at Wild Olives. It is truly our favorite restaurant offering fresh food imaginatively prepared and delectably presented. Service is always friendly. The chef introduces diners to pastas and grains not regularly seen on menus. The use of local products is a draw. Make a reservation and treat yourself to the good life."

  • "Seriously, all I can say is you have to try it! I have loved the Wild Olive since they opened up in John's Island a few years ago. My husband and I frequent the restaurant quite a bit and tend to take friends/family to eat there when they come to visit. The food is wonderful and fresh and so tasty. I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't regret it!"

  • "As a loyal patron of Wild Olive for the past 3 years, do not miss a chance to experience this restaurant. If you want the very best in service and dining this is your place. There are certainly a great many restaurant choices in Charleston, and especially on the peninsula, but head out to Johns Island and be sure to make a reservation if you want a table. We love sitting at the bar and dining with Chris, but all of their staff, servers and managers are so very well versed in everything that you cannot miss."
