  • "We had an OpenTable reservation but it did not matter as we waited longer than in any other Charleston restaurant. We were about 10 minutes early for a 7:30 reservation. At 7:50 my husband went back to the hostess stand. We were seated about 5 minutes later after being asked twice if we settled our tab at the bar. Of course we had - no reason to ask twice especially when bartender had handed us the tap after delivering a glass of wine and a soft drink. Seems like they need some front of house retraining and ways of interacting with guests."

Whether it be an anniversary or Tuesday the service food and atmosphere makes one feel special. I can not X express how lucky we are to have the Wild Olive in Charleston.   • "We put off driving from isle of Palms to John's Island to try this restaurant for way too long. The food and the whole experience was most certainly worth the effort. We will be back only after we try THE OBSTINATE DAUGHTER on sullivan's Island which is much closer to us. PLEASE don't change what you are doing as you are doing it well! snowbirds from Boston."

  • "Simple acts makes the biggest different, my wife and I arrive at the end of dinner service on Saturday night. When we arrive the restaurant was still fairly full, so the hostess seated at a small two top that was available.The table was find and nothing would have been said. We order dinner and our wine was deliver. Normally at 10 PM, most restaurants staff and management is concern about closing and side work--but a few minutes later before our appetizers arrive, the manager came over and ask if we would like to move to a corner table where some patrons just finish dinner. This does't seem like a big deal, but it made our dinner so much more enjoyable. And to top it off the wine, appetizers, entrees, and service was great!"

We came across a few restaurants but decided to try Wild Olive on a whim and we absolutely LOVED it! The food was fantastic as was the service. Our waiter, John was very attentive and took great care of us! We've been to so many Italian restaurants but this one was by far the BEST we've ever had! It was a great price too! We loved it so much I even bought a t-shirt! I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting (or living) in Charleston. Don't forget to make a reservation, they get very busy!!"

My husband and I frequent the restaurant quite a bit and tend to take friends/family to eat there when they come to visit. The food is wonderful and fresh and so tasty. There are certainly a great many restaurant choices in Charleston, and especially on the peninsula, but head out to Johns Island and be sure to make a reservation if you want a table. We love sitting at the bar and dining with Chris, but all of their staff, servers and managers are so very well versed in everything that you cannot miss."

The beet ravioli w/ orange essence and pistachios was fabulous! The trigger fish was enough to have some for leftovers. Finished off dinner w/ peanut butter and choc chip gelatti. My only suggestion would be a crustier bread for dipping. Wild Olive has and always will be my favorite!"

Brussels sprouts also highly recommended. Modestly priced wines are always good and are appropriate to the price point of the food."
