Diner Reviews
  • "Met here with two other friends and the bartender was friendly, knowledgable and fast! We enjoyed talking at bar before heading to table. Easy to chat, catch up without feeling rushed off to table. Nice wine list and dinner menu selections. We all had fish- two snapper orders and one trout. All very fresh, very flavorful. Would go back again anytime. For couples or groups."

  • "This visit was probably my 5th visit to Wild Iris. My waiter was Will and he was exceptional. When I return to the restaurant in the future (and I definitely will), I will request him from now on. Will was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The service was excellent. The food was was so delicious. I had the cider-brined pork chop and it is in the OMG category. It was so tender & juicy. It even had a little bit of "char" on it (I love char!). It was my second time having this dish and I can''t say enough good things about it. So yummy! The ambience was intimate and quiet (love that!). It's a small restaurant inside, so there isn't a lot of room. My only complaint...how small the chairs are. The food and service makeup for it!"

  • "Second time I've been to the Wild Iris. This time was with colleagues and each of us exclaimed it was one of the best meals we had experienced In a long while. Food was spectacular, service was great! I'm coming back next time I'm in Franklin, TN."

  • "This is one of our neighborhood restaurants that we frequent and the food is consistently good. The menu is tweaked regularly. I believe I've had just about everything on the menu but I particularly enjoy the salads, mussels, salmon, and chicken. It's a small place in a little strip mall with a small patio out front. Has a decent wine list and makes one of the best martinis in the Nashville area."

  • "I have eaten here twice in the last month while on business travel to Nashville. This is a real find. I have been traveling for 40+ years and have stopped eating at chain restaurants. I search Open Table, Google and other places to find local restaurants. The food and service here are fantastic. Definitely on my return list."

  • "Great little gem of a neighborhood restaurant. Innovated menu with good specials. Wait staff is very helpful with food suggestions. The restaurant is in a little strip center with plenty of parking and good interate asset."

  • "Very nice overall and the service was outstanding. The bar is in full view of the dining room and the hostess and servers congregated there chatting in between customers, albeit quietly for the most part, but it was a bit distracting. Our meal was very good. More vegetarian options would be appreciated. "

  • "I had a reservation, was seated immediately, but had to wait close to 14 minutes before a server came to even bring a glass of water. After the servers came, they were great. The food was terrific!! "

  • "Not a great ovrall experience, but the food was very good - not great. We went there becaue it was a Monday and everyone else was closed. This definately would be our 3rd or 4th choice other wise."

  • "Not our first visit, but for no good reason we hadn't been in a while. Everything was as good as we remembered. Neighborhood feel - sense that there are many regulars. Food choices excellent, all interesting and very well prepared. Attentive but non-intrusive service."

  • "As usual had a very good dinner. I had the snapper special, the flavors blended perfect. Started with a wild iris salad, it was good, but wish it has the port cherries rather then the dried cherries, that really makes the salad pop. My guest had the beef dinner and asked if the sides of another entrée could be subbed, the waitress said no problem, and it wasn't. It was exactly as he wanted. We will be back."

  • "Stopped in with my wife looking forward to a filet - only to find the menu has changed with the filet no longer an option. She was happy with the pasta, but the menu on Open Table needs updating."

  • "We had a delightful night out with some dear friends. The food was greatly enjoyed by all: all plates were cleaned even though we had generous servings. We would recommend Wild Iris as a great local restaurant with delicious, unique cuisine."

  • "Had the pork chop and wifey had the beef tenderloin stuffed with crab and cheese. Everything was great however we both would've loved a little bigger portion lol and no we are not fat lol. Everything was great"

  • "A very quaint, out-of-the-way restaurant for special evenings with your spouse or a small group (6 or less). Excellent menu with well prepared salads, entrees and desserts. Very highly recommend as it will become one of your favorites!"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our Valentine dinner at Wild iris. My husband had beef tenderloin and I had the scallops. Both were delicious and had a nice presentation. The waiter was very attentive. The price was about the same as you might expect for a nice dining experience. Overall, we were very pleased and will definitely have dinner there again."

  • "Their Arugula Salad with Marsala poached figs was a spectacular combo. Lots of seafood in the bouillabaisse. Nice wine selection. Will definitely be back soon."

  • "I keep trying to be a vegetarian but when faced with the filet at the Wild Iris I always fall off of the vegetarian boat. The beef filet is wonderful, almost melts in your mouth. I get it whenever I go there so I can't comment on the other dishes. However, I will say the menu is limited to maybe 8 choices. The combinations are unique. I like the dim, relatively quiet ambience. It does have a romantic feel. It has a long wine list and a variety of cocktails. My cherry limeade with vodka was great. I would recommend it. Not for kids."

  • "Too crowded, noisy and mediocre service. Food was OK+ but for RW you could have only 2 courses for the $20.14 price. I believe it is generally 3 courses. Had made a reservation for 5 and we were at a table for 4 that made us anxious to eat and run. Not a pleasant dining experience."

  • "Reservations were honored in a very timely way as the restaurant was slammed as a result of Restaurant Week Celebration. Service was very good, attentive, and evenly paced. Four of us had different entrees; chicken, bouillabaisse, pork chop, and shrimp and grits. Chicken and Bouillabaisse were outstanding. Shrimp and Pork Chop were just ok. Reasonably priced and decent wine list. Venue is small, crowded, and noisy. Tables very close together. Crowd was energic. Wild Iris is a good place to recommend."

  • "Had reservations for 6 @ 6:45. Our table was ready when we arrived. Had not eaten here in a very long time. It was eat local week & they were running special pricing on some dinners. Thought they were reasonably priced even without the specials. I gave it three stars for ambiance because the place is small & tables are very close together. Don't let that keep you away, tho - you will be missing a great meal!"

  • "The food I had was good but I ended up eating an second dinner later due to the portion size. It was good but no the best food I have ever had. I will probably not be going back. Upside, they have an incredible wine list so might a be a good place for after work drinks."

  • "We went there for restaurant and it was very good. I arrived early but they were able to seat me immediately. This was greatly appreciated since the bar was full. The food was superb and service was fine. My only complaint was we had an awful table which we both were repeatedly bumped by both patrons and servers. This may be due to the fact it was restaurant week."

  • "Food was good but not the best I have had at Wild Iris. It was extremely busy because of restaurant week so that may have been a factor. Service was still very good. Hate the little tables crammed close to each other. Would like a little more comfortable seating."

  • "When I walk into Wild Iris I feel like I have stepped right out of the suburbs and into a little restaurant on the California Coast. It is intimate, making it a romantic enough for two, yet it is also a wonderful spot for a party of 6. The food and service are always superb! I love the fact that I can enjoy these things without having to drive into the city!"

  • "My husband and I went to Wild Iris on a Friday night all the way from Clarksville. We were intrigued by the menu and were more than pleased once we arrived. The waitress accommodated us earlier (45 minutes earlier) without any issues. The ambiance is very cozy, the clientele was mainly locals, and the tables are set up close to one another so we could hear our neighbor's conversation unintentionally. This didn't bother us that much. The waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to wine pairings. The food was fancy looking and tasted homemade. Our meal was on the expensive side but we knew this before hand. For 1 appetizer, 2 salads, 2 entrees and 3 drinks we paid $160. We had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!"
