  • "The food was okay, I'm a vegetarian/vegan so there wasn't too many options on the menu. However, I had a salad and it was great! We went there for my friend's bachelorette and the staff was very attentive to our needs. They found us a table in a more secluded corner of the restaurant and our waiter was really nice. I would go back again anytime, the prices were reasonable and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great as well, with some background noises but not super loud, nobody can hear themselves talk, music. Thank you again for that great evening!"

  • "A reasonable meal, but in a very loud atmosphere. Spaghetti (ai funghi) didn't taste like traditional pasta. Most annoying thing, when I reviewed the bill, was the $2.00 charge for (5 or 6 little) anchovies on my Caesar salad. Given that anchovies are a normal part of this salad—although many people refuse these—I don't understand why the extra charge. Petty."

  • "This restaurant was amazing. I had no idea it even existed until I discovered it on opentable but I am so glad that I found it. We arrived almost an hour early but were still seated right away. The bread and pesto at the beginning was delicious and the service was quick. It is a beautiful restaurant and we received our meals less than ten minutes after ordering it which was amazing. The seafood risotto had be drooling and I would definitely go back. The whole experience was perfect."

  • "The food was actually pretty good, unfortunately the service kind of ruined our overall experience. We felt rushed, unattended to, ignored. The space is very cool, and it is a good place for kids, good prices....not sure we'll go back, we might, but there are a lot of great restaurants in Montreal and we usually just repeat our favorites."

  • "The food was absolutely delicious and went above our expectations. We also had alcoholic beverages which were great. It is a little pricey but worth it for what you get. The only downside was our waiter was very rude and did not seem to care about us at all! He was not helpful and acted very condescending towards me and my family."

  • "My spouse and I went to WG for a nice romantic dinner. Our server was very good and fast yet didn't offer salads or appies. My meal was not very flavorful it was bland (fettuccine Alfredo with chicken) my spouse had the chicken Parm and it was very good. We Loved the atmosphere and mature serving staff was very efficient and ran like a well oiled machine, we just felt as though we were being rushed thru. I would try Weinstein and Gavino's again "

  • "We had ordered an entree to split amoung us and we never received it. When the waiter realized it he even bother asking if we still wanted it. Daaahh it's called an entree, of course not. The fettuccine Alfredo was fadd and my husband ordered a palliarda with a side of spaghetti, figuring it was going to be red sauce, but got pesto. (The waiter should have specified that it was pesto & not red sauce). He did not digest his meal and had an upset stomach till the next day. For the ambiance lets say that maybe it was very noisy because there was a hockey game, we could bearly hear each other if we did not speak loudly. "

  • "First time there but won't be our last and we have already recommended this restaurant to our friends from Ottawa. The food was plentiful and well priced, ambience was also great. We lucked out and ended up sitting by a window on the second floor which over looked the street below. Our service was amazing as she was very friendly and had excilent recommendations for other attractions and places to eat breakfast."

  • "We ordered salads and 2 different pasta dishes. Both were large bowls of mushy pasta. I'm not sure if the tomato sauce was made with tomatoes - it didn't taste like anything but oil and onions. Do not waste a meal at this place."

  • "This fixture on Crescent Street is a buzzing spot for those letting loose after a week at work. Food is good...not exceptional. Service is OK....staff are too the point. The one issue is the noise level at ground level when you check in with the hostess. She can't hear you...you can't hear her. "

  • "I booked this restaurant for two half an hour before arriving based on OT reviews. When we arrived they were about to deny our reservation because they said OT overbooked them, but then another staff member heard the hostess saying this and found us a table nevertheless. Unfortunately, we were sat beside a group of 16 that were very loud and two tables over was a group of 10. If you are going to have a quiet dinner with anyone, this is probably not the place...you will have to speak rather forcefully to be heard across the table. The portions are quite large so be don't be tempted to get an appetizer unless you share. Before your meal, a warm mini loaf of bread and a flavourful fresh basil pesto is brought to the table...so delish!"

  • "My wife and were there on a Friday night with our daughter and her boyfriend. He has special dietary restrictions that W&G accommodated very well. Biggest drawback is the location - parking is absolutely impossible. It took me 15 minutes to find a place on the street. An alternative is a lot for $10-$15."

I was a little disapointed during my last visit concerning the food, my favorite dish from this restaurant is no longer on the menu!   • "We were a group of 20. Food was delicious and the "chop" specials were awesome. However, the searing arrangement was odd... Kind of an uneven u-shape. Two of the seats were unaccessible. Also, half the table had finished their desserts whole the secord half hasn't been asked if they'd like desserts or coffee. I got a piece of cake included with my table dhote and was done (2nd half of table still not served) when I got my birthday cake and was sang Happy birthday..."

  • "We had a group of 20 girls for a bachelorette party, which was a large group for any restaurant. They handled it pretty well and put us on the second floor. The restaurant was nicely decorated with old stone walls being a feature point. The food was excellent. Everyone was happy with their meals and the price fix option was a great deal. The only issue was the length of time we were at the restaurant. It took a very long time for the staff to take our orders, almost an hour and half, but the food came out relatively quick. Due to this long wait though we ate through quite a few loaves of bread. Good experience though and I would go back for sure!"

  • "We had brunch here recently and had a problem. I specifically asked the waitress if I ordered Eggs Benedict - could the egg yolks be well done. Answer was " certainly". Once the order arrived this was not the case. She apologized and returned the meal to the kitchen. Twenty minutes later she returned with my meal and keep in mind that my friends have now finished eating and secondly the yolks were well done - more so then a very hard boiled egg. Did the Chef have the last word? I would add that using baby spinach leaves also creates a temperature problem with the eggs and the hollandaise sauce - both were cold! The kitchen needs to be reminded to deliver what a customer asks for and not what they think the guest should have."

The 5-cheese pizza was great, although I would have liked to be warned that it does not have tomato sauce. Still, the cheeses used were interesting and varied. The duck risotto was delicious."

  • "W&G surely lost his punch. Visiting this resto since many years, but now, lost the special touch! Went for valentine day supper and we could hardly hear each other. Maybe an upgrade in the sound system will help.Food, not better than a regular restaurant. Plates were not warm. Service not up to par. Sorry that it became a restaurant like any other."
