  • "Good food and excellent service. Was speaking both languages. We had a perfect time!"

  • "We ordered salads and 2 different pasta dishes. Both were large bowls of mushy pasta. I'm not sure if the tomato sauce was made with tomatoes - it didn't taste like anything but oil and onions. Do not waste a meal at this place."

  • "This fixture on Crescent Street is a buzzing spot for those letting loose after a week at work. Food is good...not exceptional. Service is OK....staff are too the point. The one issue is the noise level at ground level when you check in with the hostess. She can't hear you...you can't hear her. "

  • "Food is decent and reasonably priced. Service is great and it's very accommodating for large parties. "

  • "We bother had pasta dishes which were very good. The warm bread and dipping oil they start you off with is very good. Music is played very loud, which has guests talking/screaming loud so they can be heard, which makes for a very noisy place."

  • "Enjoyed the overall experience. The staff were attentive and the food was delicious. The portions were huge and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this place to my friends and family!"

  • "Fresh pasta are amazing. Waiter pushes his expensive win, which might make you a bit uncomfortable but overall the service was good"

  • "The food was amazing. We arrived later than expected around 7 30pm and noted to out waiter we were rushing to catch a show at 8 30pm. The service was impeccable and I would definitely reccomend this restaurant to others."

  • "I booked this restaurant for two half an hour before arriving based on OT reviews. When we arrived they were about to deny our reservation because they said OT overbooked them, but then another staff member heard the hostess saying this and found us a table nevertheless. Unfortunately, we were sat beside a group of 16 that were very loud and two tables over was a group of 10. If you are going to have a quiet dinner with anyone, this is probably not the place...you will have to speak rather forcefully to be heard across the table. The portions are quite large so be don't be tempted to get an appetizer unless you share. Before your meal, a warm mini loaf of bread and a flavourful fresh basil pesto is brought to the table...so delish!"

  • "I always like coming to Wienstein & Gavino's, the service is always great, never too fast nor too slow and the staff is fantastic. I was a little disapointed during my last visit concerning the food, my favorite dish from this restaurant is no longer on the menu! They make an excellent lambchop plate and I was looking forward to this, however, like I mentioned, it is no longer on the menu!"

  • "My wife and were there on a Friday night with our daughter and her boyfriend. He has special dietary restrictions that W&G accommodated very well. Biggest drawback is the location - parking is absolutely impossible. It took me 15 minutes to find a place on the street. An alternative is a lot for $10-$15."

  • "This is a classic .I went back this sunday after 20 years and this place is still great .The food is good but the apetisers are to be shared (big portions ,american style ).The wine is a bit overpricy but wath can you do ,they have to make money somewere .No t fancy but very honest ."

  • "Wienstein & Gavino's was wonderful! , it was romantic, beautiful, and the food was excellent! I would definately go again, not only for an occasion, but out for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night!"

  • "We were a group of 20. Food was delicious and the "chop" specials were awesome. However, the searing arrangement was odd... Kind of an uneven u-shape. Two of the seats were unaccessible. Also, half the table had finished their desserts whole the secord half hasn't been asked if they'd like desserts or coffee. I got a piece of cake included with my table dhote and was done (2nd half of table still not served) when I got my birthday cake and was sang Happy birthday..."

  • "We had a group of 20 girls for a bachelorette party, which was a large group for any restaurant. They handled it pretty well and put us on the second floor. The restaurant was nicely decorated with old stone walls being a feature point. The food was excellent. Everyone was happy with their meals and the price fix option was a great deal. The only issue was the length of time we were at the restaurant. It took a very long time for the staff to take our orders, almost an hour and half, but the food came out relatively quick. Due to this long wait though we ate through quite a few loaves of bread. Good experience though and I would go back for sure!"

  • "Was disappointed. The entree was cold and the main dish was bland. The desert was excellent though. The place is beautiful and the service was very good."

  • "W&G surely lost his punch. Visiting this resto since many years, but now, lost the special touch! Went for valentine day supper and we could hardly hear each other. Maybe an upgrade in the sound system will help.Food, not better than a regular restaurant. Plates were not warm. Service not up to par. Sorry that it became a restaurant like any other."

  • "Good prices, scenic view of the kitchen, interesting decor, and original food... we will definitely go back. The 5-cheese pizza was great, although I would have liked to be warned that it does not have tomato sauce. Still, the cheeses used were interesting and varied. The duck risotto was delicious."

  • "The man that served us was never there seriously...put way too much parmesan on my dish and the dish I ordered from the valentines menu was awful. .the casserole with pasta and bread with an egg on top"

  • "Food is very good and plats are well served. Service is quick and pleasant. A very nice dynamic atmosphere and very well situated on crescent. The only down side was how loud the music was. We were eight at the table and we could not have a discussion, it was even hard to hear people sitting in front of you. The speaker was just above the table and pointing down towards the table, so good if you plan to have loud laughter, but not if you a plan a quiet talk."

  • "Best valentines day reservation - excellent food and quick service we got everything within 15 min of ordering- the waiter was funny and very friendly - the food was spectacular and not expensive - the gnocchi and pesto was to die for along with the meat balls."

  • "We had brunch here recently and had a problem. I specifically asked the waitress if I ordered Eggs Benedict - could the egg yolks be well done. Answer was " certainly". Once the order arrived this was not the case. She apologized and returned the meal to the kitchen. Twenty minutes later she returned with my meal and keep in mind that my friends have now finished eating and secondly the yolks were well done - more so then a very hard boiled egg. Did the Chef have the last word? I would add that using baby spinach leaves also creates a temperature problem with the eggs and the hollandaise sauce - both were cold! The kitchen needs to be reminded to deliver what a customer asks for and not what they think the guest should have."

  • "The place was ok. The waitress was kind of rude when I mentioned I was lactose intolerant. The restaurant looks great but the pop music kind of ruins it. A place as nice as this shouldn't be playing such trash."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Music very loud - almost club like atmosphere not restaurant-like, My dinner plate (sole fish from the Table d'hote menu) was bland and not very tasty. In my opinion, it was fit more for a child's taste buds than an adult My wife liked her food and it was because of her previous experience that I brought her back to the restaurant. This was however my first and last experience."
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "The food was a bit bland, though offering basil pesto and oil with the bread was a nice touch the rest could have stood to be just as spectacular. The music was a bit loud and they are struggling with acoustics so you still cannot make out the song (excellent song selection though). The physical ambiance was remarkably classy, wood and open areas and the like. Not bad if you are visual, but a bit sad if you are in it for the food."

  • "Thank you to W&G for a great dining experience. We were in a hurry as my sister was flying out an hour after we got there and the service was very fast. Thank you to the staff for being awesome. Food was really great and so was the wine list."

  • "One of the best Italian restaurants on crescent street. The menu is very reasonable. Prices are great for the quantity you get and the service was impeccable."

  • "Everybody enjoyed their food. We were 9. One had some problem with her plate but it was changed with no problem, and fast. The only thing for us was that the man serving us was all over and nowhere when needed. Too busy probably. But other covered for him. I've been going there for 8 years and will continue to go there to close up the year. Thank you"

  • "We took our staff for dinner and we have gone to this restaurant several times a few months ago. The menu was very limited there was no as many choices as I remember. I had a small steak which was supposed to med rare but was well done and tasteless. The people on our table that ordered Pizza said their food was also tasteless. We will not go back expect for cocktails. The food was no better than a chain italian restaurant"

  • "I had the grilled octopus for entree and sea food risotto for main meal, the food was excellent, sea food perfectly cooked. But the music was way too load and we had trouble having conversation within our group."
