WhymGreat LunchGreat place to stop for a delicious lunch! Service was at the perfect speed, never felt rushed or like we were waiting for something. Must try the Whym Mac 'N' Cheese!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb in every way! Perfect brunchWe had an excellent Mother's Day brunch here. Each of our meals was outstanding, including my giant omelet with a huge half sliced avocado on top, complete with potatoes and thick, crunchy, grainy toast. The waiter was excellent, offering my 7 year old daughter choices that were not on the menu that the chef could do "without a problem". We each loved our french toast / pancakes / omelet and couldn't get enough when we shared some bites with each other. I think our water glasses were refilled 5 or 6 times, the waiter came over about the same amount to ask how everything was. Super super super experience here. Really clean and modern design to the place. We were impressed in every way. Will be back again for sure!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLoveI simply love this place! Excellent menu, great drinks and exceptional stafff! Always a great pick!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. AThe food was delicious. A new menu for the season was introduced and many interesting and delicious sounding dishes were represented. Tried the new pork and was in heaven.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways SolidFriendly service and good food. Drinks pretty awesome as well. Great neighborhood spot.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLooking for somewhere to lunchLooking for somewhere to lunch before Lincoln Center? WHYM is the place. Its only a few short blocks away (a nice walk after a good lunch). Menu has mulitple things to choose from, good service and nice quiet atmosphere to visit with friends. The Crab Benny is an interesting twist to Eggs Benedict...with a crab cake instead of the English Muffin. Many options are noted as either vegetarian or gluten free.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLincoln Center StandbyLove to eat at Whym when around the Lincoln Center area. It's fairly priced, has a decent, varied and somewhat inventive menu. But skip the banana cream pie....5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food and ServiceFriendly atmosphere with good service and food. They offer a fantastic lunch special.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMHits the spotWhym has proved reliable as a go-to pre Lincoln Center performances for a few years. The restaurant is bright, airy, and modern, with lots of space between tables, allowing for normal conversation without raising voices. The menu is varied, inventive, and delicious...no miscues at all. The service was excellent. The only minor complaint is that the banquettes are worn and the floor a but scuffed....time for a little refreshening.
NB the noise level selected, above, is "energetic", as that is the only one I was able to choose on my iPad, but I would have preferred one down from that.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMI live nearby so my husbandI live nearby so my husband and I have been to Whym many times. It never disappoints us. The food is consistently good, the service is always friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is pleasant. We will continue to go back.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunches (best bloodyGreat brunches (best bloody marys!), the red potatoes with the interesting egg dishes are fantastic. Delicious flatbread with brie and figs. Service is always friendly, efficient and informative. After going 3 times and loving it each time, Whym is becoming one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have eaten here a coupleWe have eaten here a couple of times and the food and service has always been great. This time, my husband had the pork chops and they were amazing. They also have a great dessert and drink list, the El Duderino is a must! We love to come after work and snag the table in the bar for prime people watching.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMneighborhood Fav gets bettermenu preparation continues to get better; always a nice experience4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, delicious & healthy! This was our first time visiting and my husband and I had brunch at Whym with our 2 small children, ages 5 and 7. I had a delicious and nutritious brunch special, including egg whites with a black bean pancake and a nice spicy sriracha sauce - which was very tasty and unique. My husband had a steak and eggs omelet, which was excellent. My daughters found perfect items on the children's menu, as well - a mixture of healthy and tasty, all around. We will definitely be back!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA great neighborhood find.A great neighborhood find. Excellent and interesting menu. Delicious food4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only reason I am not givingThe only reason I am not giving this lovely place 5 stars is because my salmon while very tasty was a little tough. I asked for it rare and I got sushi which is probably the reason.
Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The wine by the glass options were wonderful. I was at a table but noticed interesting people at the bar.
My sister in law has serious food reactions which make it hard for her to eat out and the waiter was compassionate and flexible and she was able to eat everything on her plate.
I just moved into the hood and I will def go back..perhaps sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and a snack...it seems like the perfect place to be with company or solo4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery dish was tasty, andEvery dish was tasty, and the room was quiet enough for good conversation. A great discovery!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for brunchService was attentive. I especially like the mini-muffins that were delivered to our table. There is a nice selection of brunch entrees on the menu. My companion chose the pina colada pancakes and found them tasty. I decided to try the granola and was glad I did - a nice size serving with a variety of fruits and a bowl of yoghurt. It might not be everyone's idea of a treat, but for me it was just right. We will definitely return-dinner next time.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur experience was wonderful,Our experience was wonderful, from the time we stepped into Whym until we walked out the door. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make up our minds. I would highly recommend the Ricotta & Artichoke wontons for an appetizer. The Fish Special(skate), Tuna Salad Entree and the Cavatelli entrees were delicious. Thetopper was the dessert....Brown Sugar Cheesecake on a "Nilla" wafer crust with a Root Beer Glaze put the sparkle on the meal. This is one place I will definitely return....after all there are things we didn't try yet!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique in Times Square-ColumbusUnique in Times Square-Columbus Circle area - a small very good casual restaurant with lots of room between many of the tables. Very good food, service, atmosphere. Just a great comfortable casual place.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is good but I sftillFood is good but I sftill feel that it's too expensive ! The desert menu has only several choices and I don't enjoy the "S'more wich" (?) too much, as cute as its name.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWhym never fails to please!!!Whym never fails to please!!! It is my go to place when I want a night with friends to dine comfortably and the menu covers everyone's palate!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMA local hot spot under the radarA neighborhood gem indeed. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. The food was delicious. Check our the sushi grade tuna salad. And the pork chop was cooked to perfection. We'll be back.... soon and often.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTried on a fabulous WhymImpressive selections, spacious seating, contemporary decor, and great service. My first time and I will return. Enjoyed it immensely.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFar above average lunchWe went for lunch here and the food was really the star. I had the chicken and avocado sandwich (with chipotle mayo instead of the lemon mayo), and it was filled with big chunks of chicken and what seemed like almost a full avocado. It was delicious. My friend had the turkey meatloaf, which was apparently a house specialty, and she enjoyed it very much. Our waiter was very enthusiastic (almost too much so) and though attentive, he didn't have a great grasp of when to interrupt or not (we were involved in a heavy-duty conversation). But I still give four stars for his service (I am very picky about sensitivity to when to tell us about dessert, for example). Overall, a really good restaurant for lunch.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived at 10:45AM forWe arrived at 10:45AM for Saturday brunch and the restaurant was relatively quiet. Within a half-hour, it became extremely busy. Nevertheless, the service was excellent and the food was very good. Highly recommend the poached eggs over Whym's homemade hash. Prices are reasonable for NYC. Portion sizes adequate to large. Good place to choose among the many restaurants on 9th Avenue!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA Tried and True favorite!A tried and true local favorite -- great service, reasonable price, excellent drinks, and reliably very good food. Spacious tables...not over-crowded like so many nearby restaurants. I go to Whym every few months and feel comfortable taking any group of clients, family, and/or friends there since the menu is diverse and can please everyone (ranging from gourmet comfort foods like meatloaf or Mac & Cheese, through Seared Tuna or Thai linguine that are fit for foodies).
Specialty drinks are the only over-priced items here, otherwise expect typical Manhattan drink prices and menu items that are reasonably priced -- good value overall and highly recommended.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't say enough about theCan't say enough about the place. The staff was attentive and very cordial. We were seated promptly and the waiter answered our questions regarding some of the items on the menu. The restaurant was very comfortable and the stmosphere allowed my date and I to engaged in a very easygoing conversation without feeling rushed. We shared appetizer of a Pulled Duck slider which was tender and very tasteful. I had a Linguini and Shrimp with Thai Peanut Sauce and she had Mahi Tacos. Both were very enjoyable. TO top it off, we shared a S'more for dessert. Everything was very good and delicious and helped make for a perfect evening. Would definitely recommend.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was good, as wasThe food was good, as was the service, but the weird thing was that I left the tip as cash, and the charge on my debit card had an extra 20 bucks on it--ANYWAY. When I called the next day, they told me on debit it was automatic with the system they used so the waiter doesn't get stiffed. It eventually was taken off the charge, but they won't see me anymore since I do not trust them.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM100% american big city's foodBingo! I learned what I should eat in NYC and not tobe disapointed! Wanna know? Listen: Before I was trying french, italian, russian, etc cuisines and they were not like in countries of origines... They were sterile (if I can use the word for food). Every time I regret of eating these. But now I found the solution - since this time on I will be dining only in restaurant serving contemporary american big city's cuisine! It is the only way of cooking that they do the best! And no regrets!12/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
