Whitehouse-CrawfordOur dinner was so excellentOur dinner was so excellent we could hardly remember when we had such an experience. We started off he evening with Martinis
and the chili shrimp....WOW the flavor of the shrimp exploded on our palates. I opted for the hot spinach salad...again my mouth went crazy with the smoked trout and bacon accompanied by the dressing. Main course an excellently prepared halibut. We ended
up with just enough room for (I don't recall the exact name) the rhubarb and berry oh heck it was so good I lost my mind at that point. We will be back next year to experience what I call The perfect evening. Kudos to the Bartender, host and hostess for the extra steps they made to enhance our evening.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic EveningService was fantastic. Staff paid special attention to request made prior to arrival. Staff had great recommendations on everything from wine to dessert. Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy more often.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ExcellentOur party of four visited the Whitehouse-Crawford two days ago during our wine tasting trip to Walla Walla. We had outstanding jalapeño margaritas, some delicious appetizers (chili shrimp and a special that night- wild mushrooms, lightly sautéed in olive oil, butter and herbs). Our entrees were perfectly prepared and expertly served hot to the table. Service was impeccable, decor beautiful, atmosphere quiet and sophisticated, prices very reasonable for the quality received. Our guests were impressed and happy.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice!Lovely space, great food and service. Due to high ceilings and open kitchen, it is a bit loud and difficult for conversation if anyone at your table is hard of hearing. But perfect if you don't have that situation. Would highly recommend it.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday celebration at W-CLovely choice of cocktails and wines. We split a radish, aspargus salad to begin. All ingredients fresh, beautifully arranged on plate and perfectly dressed. My partner enjoyed a filet mignon which was excellent, but the crowning glory of the plate was the exquisite reduction (makes you want to lick the plate-good!). I ordered halibut; perfectly prepared with fresh, tender asparagus. Dessert included Hungarian shortbread with strawberry filling and chocolate house-made ice cream. Yum. We never visit Walla Walla without a meal at Whitehouse-Crawford.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWhitehouse-Crawford is splendid! We had an excellent evening in every way: excellent food and service and lots of laughter.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo couples catching up....perfectWe went here while on vacation with another couple and had a great dinner...great food, great service and the place is simply really cool. It can be a bit noisy (due to the older building and no carpet to drown the noise) but otherwise, everything was wonderful. The portions may be a little big. Consider splitting some dishes. The fried onions appetizer is a must!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways WonderfulWe stop in any time we are in Walla Walla. The food is delicious and locally sourced. We love the cocktails as well as the great wine list. A true gem in a small town.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food Great wineWe always eat at Whitehouse Crawford when we visit Walla Walla- usually several times ! Great service and great food always.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeExcellent food and great authentic service. Love the Vietnamese calimari and the tenderloin. Delicious. Would be even better with a few more vegetables!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had a wonderful meal thewe had a wonderful meal the service was great interesting and beautiful old building5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's dayMy wife and kids really enjoyed the meal we do not dine here often but whenwe do it is always a great experience!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMfive star except for the corkageWe love everything about W-C except their stinky corkage fee -- $15 for the first bottle and $25 for the second (and $25 for the first if it's a magnum). The smoked trout salad is a perennial favorite, any vegetable is prepared for peak flavor and texture, the steaks are fork-tender perfection and the desserts are creative and irresistible. The starter delicately fried onions are a must have. The knowledgeable staff and the ambience always make for a memorable evening. The carpenters' pencils are a unique and delightful treat.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time in Walla WallaI had heard the buzz about Whitehouse-Crawford from Seattle food critics and radio personalities. We were there at the end of Spring Release weekend which may not be the best time to judge a place. It clearly had been a taxing event and the stressed waiter just couldn't keep up. We asked for the fried onion appetizer but it never arrived. The food was delicious--two salads, one entree, one dessert. The pasta had a nice bite to it, the salad greens were impeccable, and the pear cake with cardamom ice cream? I could eat it every day. Will try again on a more routine night.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food & ServiceWe enjoyed everything during our dinner at Whitehouse Crawford. Food was excellent. Service was great and love that they have a very reasonable corkage fee. Will definitely go back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding as alwaysOnce again Whitehouse-Crawford was over the top in terms of overall excellence. Not the least expensive meal you're going to have but definitely among the best. A perennial stop in Walla Walla for us.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWhitehouse-Crawford is a WallaWhitehouse-Crawford is a Walla Walla gem. Food quality, service, and ambiance all come together here to make for an extraordinary dining experience. I have heard that it is on the expensive side. However, my observation is that it is right in line with other restaurants that stress quality. We enjoyed halibut which was done to perfection and served with fresh asparagus. Being in Walla Walla, needless to say that the wine list is impressive. In addition to table dining, patrons can also eat at the bar or sit in front of the cooking area, with its flaming oven, and watch the chefs turn food into gourmet delights. We look forward to returning.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I had a wonderfulMy wife and I had a wonderful dinner service. The tenderloin steak was great, mushrooms with red wine reduction. We are looking forward to another dinner service. Great pairing of wine by our waiter for our meal.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTwo outstanding dinnersAlways outstanding every time we've visited. We had the calamari appetizer, roasted beet and arugula salad, the crepe with lentils and vegetables, the pappardelle with lamb ragu, and the halibut. Ut was all delicious and served perfectly. We had hosted a large party of twenty two nights prio that was held in the room off to the side. That dinner party went off without a hitch and the food was outstanding again. The salted caramel ice cream is a must for dessert!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWhitehouse-Crawford is consistentlyWhitehouse-Crawford is consistently wonderful. Even on a packed night (big wine release weekend) the service was impeccable and the food just right. They use seasonal locally sourced ingredients and the menu changes frequently. The menu includes standard safe choices like beef tenderloin but also items like Bigo (the national dish of Poland), lamb ragu with papparadelle, and halibut with an olive orange salad. The lemon ricotta cheesecake with blood orange was perfect.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant, once great,This restaurant, once great, is back! Same chef, new vigor and inspiration.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional Dining ExperienceMy husband and I had dinner at Whitehouse Crawford on a weeknight, early evening. Being less crowded at that hour, it was quiet and more intimate. We had an excellent experience for our first time dining there. The food was delicious and the presentation was superb. My cocktail, Moscow Mule, was one of the best I have ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our server was exceptional--not only courteous and prompt, but served from the correct sides of the table. (I have not seen that for a long time regardless of the quality/type of the restaurant!) We will definitely dine at White Crawford again.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to the WhitehouseWe went to the Whitehouse Crawford for dinner during my recent 50th birthday celebration. Our party of 5 all thought the food was wonderful. Somewhat limited menu but everything that was prepared was outstanding and the preparations were unique. Service was also very good and wine selection, as you would expect in Walla Walla, was great.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
