Service was disappointing. Took 15
minutes to order a drink at the table. Another 15 to order. Meal itself was fine, nothing spectacular. Took over 15 minutes to pay after getting the bill."

Delicious brunch and wonderful,
attentive service. Interesting menu -- poached eggs on avocado toast or eggs over chorizo and beans. Felt like it was more creative!"

A nice bar, food is very good the
downside is that it's too noisy and crowded to have a conversation."
Dined on 3/28/2014
The cocktail menu is beyond
fantastic, but the drinks themselves are not. Service is fantastic; food is pretty good. VERY LOUD!"

Whitehall is a West Village gem.
It's become one of my go-to neighborhood restaurants. The staff is super and the ambiance is perfect for many occasions."

Good service, nice ambiance,
convenient location. But so many better choices in NY."

Along with standard brunch dishes
(pancakes with berries, fried eggs and bacon), Whitehall has a few brunch dishes that help change things up. The baked eggs arrived still bubbling in a cast iron skillet, with tiny wild mushrooms, oily chorizo, and a scattering of fresh thyme. There was also an avocado dish with poached eggs, and a lovely 'english breakfast' platter, overflowing with perfectly roasted tomatoes, buttery mushrooms, and pliable bacon strips. Prices are reasonable, though they add up too quickly if you're adding cocktails to your meal. Nice rustic-chic space with fresh flowers and unfinished wood surfaces. The staff was friendly but not overbearing. Overall, a nice meal."

Completely loved this restaurant
which is situated in a lovely, vibrant area. Our group all had the burgers and they were amazing. Atmosphere was lovely and would definitely visit again next time in New York. Fantastic!!"

we had 9:15 reservations on a
winter wednesday night - and the table was waiting for us (a plus) . bar area tables are crowded and a bit loud. great food choices, interesting cocktails and wines by the glass. all dishes well dne. when we went to leave, hard to get check and pay."

The bar drinks are top notch. Go
for drinks. Food was good but drinks were better."

Whitehall, our gastropub in
Greenwich Village, has a diverse menu and a nice vibe. The service is attentive. The food (fish, chicken, pork chop) all really good."

Great West Village Spot. Super
Chic Design and Ambience. Nice Friendly Service. Had the Kale Salad and Brick Chicken. The Chicken was AMAZING with tons of seasonal Veg. My partner had the Lamb Desi - Super Flavorful and Super Tasty. We didn't have desserts has we were full. Looking forward to returning very soon."

Hostess: rude; we had a
reservation, she told us that she needed the table back in two hours before we sat down. Two hrs is plenty of time; it is up to the restaurant to move tables and have good control rather than an inexperienced college student with a snobby tone. Waitress: Not knowledgable & unprofessional The waitress explained that they serve half glass of prosecco because the glasses are much larger than normal champagne flutes. Poor excuse!!! Cocktails: good; Wine mediocre. Given the food is OK, service is bad and the ample good restaurants in the West Village, Whitehall is not worth it. After the lame excuse of the half glass of prosecco, I asked if I could taste a glass of white wine. The waitress served it in a dessert glass."

Went here before heading to Sleep
No More with my date and had a wonderful meal. Great cocktail list, wonderful staff, interesting and delicious food (get the brussel sprouts; you won't be disappointed!). The ambiance was wonderful, good music selection, great decor. A definite gem in the heart of the West Village."

We were meeting friends over
thanksgiving weekend and decided to give Whitehall a try. Originally we were only going to be two couples but you know how quickly groups can expand over the holidays with family so we increased out size to six then seven and had a nice long table awaiting us upon our arrival. Our server was a bit awkward but friendly and made our time enjoyable. We got a apple French toast for the table and various egg dishes. One of us got the duck confit latke special and raved about it. It was nice to catch up and had we been more of a drinking crowd we probably could have stayed all day trying the very intriguing original cocktail list, however we went on our way!"

I've been to Whitehall several
times and it never disappoints. Our last meal there I had the bass, my husband the pork and our guests the duck and the steak. Everything was delicious. The wine & beer selection is always good. It has a great lively vibe. We will be back."

Nice place, very charming decor.
The food was variable, from bland to flavorful. The service was spotty and rarely friendly."

I enjoy this establishment. The
signature drinks are really tasty and even better during Happy Hour, as they are half price then (Mon-Fri: 5-8pm)! Their burgers are good and reliable. Their "Pigs in a Blanket" are good and for sharing. The servers are friendly, helpful and accommodating, as long as they are not swamped w/ too many tables at once. They have many TV screens and our server made sure to put the game we requested, the screens closest to our table. I hope to be back soon!"

I was not sure if I was going to
like Whitehall Bar and Kitchen but was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, not the best I ever had, but good. I thought the menu was limited though, with simply not enough choices. The portions are quite small but everything was fresh. However, the bar scene was very busy, so if you are young and looking to enjoy a few drinks with friends, this is the place for you."

We had an early dinner (by NYC
standards!), so it was very quiet when we first got there, but was buzzing a little more by the time we left. We had the whole back of the restaurant to ourselves for the first hour or so, so book after 8pm if you prefer some company around you! Other than that, the service was very friendly, and the food was great. Had the crab and linguine pasta. Delicious!"

And I was not let down in the
least...from the fine staff greeting us throughout the eve...wonderful, engaging staff to compliment the food. Their knowledge of the dishes was spot on. Great ambiance. The noise level was just fine. I do understand that Thursdays and weekends it is energetic but earlier in the week, am amazing spot for a intimate group. Well, well done in every way!"

made a reservation for two & we
were sat right next to the bar area. very loud & people bumping into the table throughout our meal. cheese plate was dismal and the squash salad was bland & boring. we both had the halibut. over salted & still pretty tasteless. side of brussels was over dressed & too salty. enjoyed our tall cocktails & our waitress was spot on. loved this place when it first opened, but something has gone wrong. definitely won't be back."

The menu was an intriguing twist
on standard British fare. We ordered a few things from the appetizer section which were all great. Cocktail menu is really innovative and balances out the meal perfectly. The service was a real hit/miss. The water bottle sat empty for 1/2 hour then it was constantly refilled. What really made me take down the stars in service is the attitude of the hostess. She made best effort to make our evening as unpleasant. She told us there's another reservation for our table as soon as we sat down. Then she asked me to move my stuff because it was in the way and literally no one sat next to us for another half hour. She came back with other demands and comments. If I ever go back, I'm sitting at the bar."

The first time I ate here about a
month ago, I thought the food was very good but small portions compared to other restaurants in this type of restaurant category (upscale laidback modern casual dining). However, this time my guest and I both had to send back our steak entree and pork chop entree because both were presented well done when we requested medium. They did replace the entrees but the pork chop was still over done. We dined here on a Tuesday night, maybe this was the B-team in the kitchen. My only remaining comment is the pricing, for what you are being served, it is too high. The service is very good."

We truly enjoyed dining here and I
plan on returning soon. Service was excellent. However, menu items and the portion sizes are those of a Michelin restaurant. We started with the grilled fresh figs salad special and it was outstanding. Next we had pan roasted grouper but it is more like a bouillabaisse with pasta served in a soup bowl. It was enjoyable but a very very small dish for $28. We also had the Pork Chop which was tasty but honestly half the size of most restaurants portion size. With all that said, the food was so good, I am willing to pay their pricey menu prices and return again in the future."
