"I went there becausee the menu contained confit; it was adequate, but the preparation could have been better - it should have been crisper. My entre, oragne duck was ordinary. My desertm banana foster was excellent.I was put off by the paper table cloth and napkins which were not warranted by the prices charged"

"This was our first time to the restaurant - so we decided to order from the Vietnamese side of the menu. We had the spring rolls and grilled squid - both delicious! For our main course, we enjoyed the shaking beef. Because the restaurant does not have an online wine list, we brought in a bottle of Syrah; however, they do offer some well-priced french wines both by the glass and by the bottle. The restaurant is small (about 12 tables) - but we noticed a large Vietnamese family dining together on one side as we arrived. This is clearly a family-owned restaurant, and they delivered a fine dining experience. We really must return to try the French side of the menu!"

"We really enjoy White Shallot, and eat here often. We had some trouble with our open table reservation which I made for 6:30, and had confirmation for. The restaurant insisted that it had been made by OT for 7 PM. They are very crowded on Friday nights so this could have been a problem as we were early for our 6:30 time and would not have waited. They were able to seat us, and we had an excellent dinner."

"Upon arrival, we waited a bit without water or any acknowledgmement. The ingredients were fresh. The consume soup was a flavorful broth, with pale slices of celery. A little too simple for my palate. Lamb shank a bit on the sweet side but the meat was cooked nicely. My friend's entre was simply tasty meat chunks on a bed of greens. No sauce. Vegetables were cooked just right except they claimed to be 'roasted'but tasted steamed. Nothing of a carmelized skin. The glass of wine desired was not available and we had to beg our waiter to open a bottle not sold by the glass because there was no alternative. He very reluctantly agreed."

"Everything was tasty...from the appetizers to the entrees...every little bit. The food was served quickly and hot. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Even the other guests were nice :). What I love most is that it combines 2 of my favorite cuisines in one restaurant, French & Asian! Nice vegetarian options available. We got the salmon, stuffed vegetables, spring rolls, and butternut squash soup. Everything tasted fresh and hot, perfectly cooked, and flavorful."

"Vietnamese owned French & Vietnamese food. Located in a strip mall adjacent to Santa Row and Valley Fair, the place was a big out of place, but that means they didn't have to charge patrons high prices. Party of 2 with a glass of wine, appetizers, soup, entrees and dessert was less than $100, what a great deal! Wifey went with French fare and I went with Vietnamese, I liked the choice. They cut some corners but still, pleasant dinner, would return for more."
