White Barn InnWe enjoyed an extraordinaryWe enjoyed an extraordinary meal and memorable experience while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We selected the tasting menu and wine pairings which I would strongly recommend. The only downside was the cost which was $700. Thankfully we'll only celebrate our 25th once!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet WizardryFrom the personal welcome to the personalized departure, you are elegantly & discreetly pampered. Tucked into a dark yet inviting old barn with a too large US flag draping one wall, this ultimate gourmet dining experience escorts you into culinary bliss. You may choose a 4 or 9 course prix fixe option with or without wine pairings and we recommend the interesting pairings - but be prepared for many surprising extras along this tasty, inspiring journey into amazing cuisine.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent butEverything was excellent but the price would prohibit regular visits. Some more reasonable options would be helpful.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAll it's cracked up to beMy wife and I have had this restaurant on our 'must do someday' list and finally went the other night for our anniversary. It was great! The wait staff were wonderful, the food was excellent and the entire experience was wonderful. We'll definitely go back.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMa real gem in Kennebunkthe standard that this restaurant consistently maintains is unparalleled.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful setting for our mealThe White Barn restaurant is cozy, charming and a wonderful old school dining experience. The service was exceptional and the food was excellent. We had five people (including three teenagers) all order different entrees and no one was disappointed.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMCould not have been better! The white barn did not disappoint us in any way. I truly appreciate everything they did to make my fathers birthday outstanding . From greeting him at the door with good wishes to every server making him and all of us feel special to the birthday fair wells it was all fabulous! The food, from the amuse bouche of lobster to the quail & fois gras or lobster corn chowder or the tuna.. The beginning was perfect.. Next many sorbets and a delicious onion port soup to a unanimous round of lobster pasta with cognac which delighted everyone. A chefs treat of a panna cotta followed by perfect soufflés and cheese cake. Special chocolates and blueberry marshmallows , gelees and doughnuts ended the perfect meal.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent/ GoodThe ambiance and service are impeccable.
My husbands app & entree were superb: rabbit & lamb.
My items were just okay: foie gras (not seared well enough) with quail breast & duck (literally grey in some spots).
I enjoyed the goat milk-cheesecake but none of its accompaniments and the crème brulee was also just okay.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Birthday CelebrationWe had planned to visit for some time. My wife's birthday and a weekend in Maine was just the occasion to get us there this time. Everything was as great as we had heard from friends and featured spots on Chronicle and Phantom Gourmet. The service was perhaps the best part of all, making the evening really special. We thought we were in Europe with the attentive, but unobtrusive wait staff. We asked for variations on our meals and were assured that was not a problem. Everything we had was a treat for the senses, expertly prepared and elegantly presented. The wine pairings our waiter chose for us were spectacular and perfect accompaniments for the food. The menu was an adventure, and we were not disappointed. Well worth the expense.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing mealWe dined on a Tuesday later in the evening and had the normal tasting menu and wine pairings. The food and service were impeccable, and the wine pairings complimented the meal very well. The meal was the best we've had in the area, slightly better than we have had at any of the best New England restaurants including Clio, Mombo, Pistou, etc.
We will definitely be back for special trips or occasions in the KPT area.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWhite Barn exceeds expectationsThe White Barn Inn's ambiance and five star winning menu lived up to all our expectations. My wife and I both chose the salmon for our entree and were not disappointed. A wonderful 40th Anniversary dining experience. Highly recommended.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the splurge! It was for my 40th birthday and it is on the expensive side but worth it for a treat. The food was excellent and service top notch. The dessert was the best part, try the white chocolate creme brûlée, it was fabulous. The place is very nice and romantic we really enjoyed the experience and everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWhite Barn InnWe went to this restaurant because it was in the book, "1,000 Things to See Before You Die". We read about the restaurant and were in the general area and decided that we needed to eat here. It is everything the book describes and more. One of the most memorable meals we have ever eaten!! The food is incredible, and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend it to all foodies!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous!White Barn Inn continues to impress with their food & service -such a treat!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely restaurantA fantastic place for special dinner. Outstanding food, stellar service and elegant, cozy setting.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe White Barn Inn is trulyThe White Barn Inn is truly one of the most unique dining experiences. The food is top notch, and the service is impeccable!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but excellentThe White Barn does a four course menu with outstanding and interesting options for each course. They also bring additional treats from the chef during the meal. We were a group of four and everyone was delighted with the experience. It is expensive, but it is truly outstanding.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional if the dessertsExceptional if the desserts hadn't been atrocious.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded expectations-theExceeded expectations-the food and service really are as amazing as WB's reputation would promise.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe White Barn Inn is oneThe White Barn Inn is one of the best restaurants in New England! It is always a treat to eat there, because the food, service, and atmosphere are all impeccable! Everything we ate was delicious! It was also beautiful to look at! We highly recommend this restaurant!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a fantastic meal.Always a fantastic meal. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. From the minute you park your car to the minute you leave, it is a special experience.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the Very BestHad dinner at the White Barn Inn about 15 years ago and it has always been in my top five. Recently revisited another of my top 5's and was disappointed so I was prepared to have my hopes dashed again. However, it was not to be as the elegant food and atmosphere of the White Barn more than measured up to my memories. I hope the management never surrenders their "jackets for gentlemen" policy because, in this day and age of jeans acceptable everywhere, it is nice to dress up for dinner once in awhile, even if forced to, as it adds to the specialness of the evening. Anyway the food was amazing, the service impeccable and the setting sublime. It is surely a splurge evening, but a splurge well worth making.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely a world class 5-starAbsolutely a world class 5-star dining experience. The variation of local oysters appetizer is just one of the creative, exquisite delights we experienced on a weekday night, but it is at the very top of my all time dishes, and visually it was spectacular. Each of the three variations on different themes was served in an oyster shell perched atop its own little pillar of salt; the fourth oyster contained a serving of horseradish ice cream, another delicate combination of flavors to complement the other three. The four courses ordered were interspersed with additional amuse bouches to expand this sensually luscious evening, all enhanced further by superb wait staff and pianist. Take note of the unique sculptures on each table.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe White Barn staff is attentive,The White Barn staff is attentive, but not intrusive. The food was delicious as usual, and the presentation was appealing. The menu is diverse and worth spending some time over before choosing. If we hadn't had a significant drive after the meal, we likely would have chosen the wine pairing tasting menu, but our a la carte options did not disappoint.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe White Barn Inn- truly great. The White Barn Inn gave my son and I one of the most spectacular dinming experiences of the past 12 months. We have eaten at multiple Relais & Chateaux in Europe and the US and Michelin-starred establishments but Grand Chef Jonathan Cartwright demonstrates masterfully that a truly memorable restaurant experiemce isn't just about great food (which the White Barn has), or a great sommelier (which it also has) but a perfect combination of attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable and friendly service combined with cuisine that is perfectly balanced, creative yet comforting, and served with genuine warmth and generosity. A true definition of hospitality.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen my husband and I firstWhen my husband and I first arrived at the White Barn Inn, we were greeted by a valet, a doorman wearing a white jacket with coattails and white gloves, and the maitre'd. My first thought was, 'Great, another hoity-toity restaurant with a too high opinion of themselves and food that will surely disappoint'. As we were seated, it quickly became apparent that this was obviously not true. We opted for the pre fixe menu, which included bonus amuse bouche and mignardise courses. The service was gracious and not at all overbearing. The food was nothing short of an otherworldly experience. There were some eye-closing 'Mmmmmm' moments, as well as in my chair yummy dances. I highly recommend you dine here!!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMToo expensive, too much foodToo expensive, too much food so it makes you forget that the food was good and it was a beautiful place.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is our second time toThis is our second time to the White Barn Inn for an anniversary dinner. Consistently good quality of food and impeccable service. The food was prepared perfectly and presentation was excellent. Wait staff was knowledgeable and worked together to ensure food came out to the table simultaneously, regardless of the size of the party.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good, butThe food was very good, but the service and overall experience was excellent.
Its great for a special night out.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AM
