Whist at the ViceroyAlways ImpressiveWe go to Whist whenever we want a relaxing outdoor dinner with excellent food. It's great to take out of town guests so they see just how sweet the LA lifestyle can be. The food was better than ever!!!! Our friends enjoyed the evening!!!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentWe had a most enjoyable and scrumptious evening. The staff were just incredible from making the reservation down to the coffee at evening end. The 32oz Kobe beef was a bit oversold and our only not up to par comment. It just wasn't enough for 4 people with the huge bone. The other dishes were fabulous especially the salads. We will definitely be back.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Outdoor DiningDined with two friends and we all loved the beautiful outdoor dining space. It is lovely. I ordered the halibut and butternut squash, both were nice and the halibut was prepared perfectly. Our waiter was not very attentive to our table but the other servers and all the bartenders were excellent.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe WhistVery stylish decor adds a theatrical energy to the inside spaces and to the garden. Menu offers sophisticated parings by a creative chef in both small plates and medium-size entrees good for easy sharing.
Highly recommend dining here.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favoritesThe Whist is a real gem. The outdoor dining area is beautiful and the food even better. While not inexpensive, the plates are a reasonable value. But what really shines is the service. Without hovering, the wait staff was always available, the water glasses always full, the hot food hot and cold food cold. It's a great place for a wonderful, romantic evening.
I left it for last, but the only complaint I have is the parking. There is no reason for the hotel (the restaurant is in the Viceroy Hotel) to charge what they do for dinner patrons. It's too bad, cause they tell you what the parking charge is when you drop off the car and it starts the evening off on the wrong note.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service, Great FoodFarm to table without attitude. Great outdoor space. Servers are informed and make wonderful suggestions from wines to dessert.
Bring friends!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWhist continues to be innovativeWhist continues to be innovative and creative. Food, service and outside diining are excellent. Always a treat to dine here for a special occasion or just for a delightful experience.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall plate paradiseThe menu consists mostly of small plates--easy to taste a few courses. Sitting outdoors in their garden makes such a pleasant evening. Only complaint was in attentive service--waiter rarely came by, so long gaps between ordering drinks, dinner, then coffee/dessert.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMRushed to get to Valet!Excellent food and service. Relatively quiet and romantic.
The only problem here is the parking.
Parking is $12 for 2 hours and $5 for each hour thereafter, with NO validation.
So you have to rush your dinner and get to valet before your 2 hours is up.
Parking validation should be included!!

"Energetic" doesn't really fit as well as "factory assembl line.
