Diner Reviews
  • "Coming from Manhattan we were used to great dining experiences & Wheatfields was a great find for both lunch and dinner"
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "I was recently forced to remove gluten from my diet, so I was excited to see the many gluten-free pizza and pasta options. I went with the brown rice fusilla with pesto. It was delicious. The homemade lemonade and bloody marys were also a huge hit at our table."

  • "I have eaten at Wheatfields for the last 12 years and it is my favourite restaurant in the area. The one place I would never hesitate to bring an out of town visitor, first timers, friends and family. I love the food and the staff. Never had a bad experience in all the years of dining there."

  • "Overall, the food was good to average. My gazpacho soup was extremely bland. My friend's crab cakes were fine. The pasta special (which we both had) was made with homemade pasta and the lemon caper sauce was tasty. The remaining contents in the dish were fine, but not exciting. The chocolate mousse desert was very good and the best part of the meal."

  • "Our first Wheatfield's experience was very fine. Pleasant atmosphere, varied menu selections, decent service, delicious food, reasonable prices. When the server learned it was a birthday party, she comped the desserts. Good place for people watching, too."

  • "Sometimes you just want to go out for a nice, easy meal that isn't necessarily over-arranged, over-presented, or overpriced. This is the place. Huge salads, amazing pasta - and all fresh, organic, and tasty. Plus, my kids have never had such amazing macaroni and cheese! It's the kind of place you can go back to again and again because you leave feeling full, and healthy - not heavy."

  • "Made an online dinner reservation (fantastic) arrived on time and was lucky enough to get a seat outside! Our server seemed to be distracted - food was brought quickly - but never offered anything extra - no second glass of wine/coffee or desset! A fourth member of our party arrived late and inquired about ordering a salad - she was never handed a menu and was brought a beet salad as she did not even understand what the server had rattled off! Not up to your usual standards of excellance! Our food was GREAT!"

  • "Wanted to meet up with friends from Albany and Wheatfields seemed like a good midway point. I got the seafood special which was a delicious salmon on wild rice with veggies. My wife's meal though was definitely my favorite (she didn't finish it, so I swooped in to make sure it didn't go to waste.) She ordered the chicken rigatoni and it was amazing. Hope you like the spice because this dish doesn't hold back. Overall a very good experience. Both of our meals (no alcohol) ran us about $40. We will be back for sure."

  • "I thought our meals were quite good, although nothing was spectacular. The service was okay for as busy as they were. "
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "Everything was wonderful. Our table was located in the front, so spacious and able to view street scene (important for our 16-year old rower guest! Waiter was very patient and courteous. The restaurant was busy, but we were not rushed. Excellent food. Thoroughly enjoyable evening."

  • "Had a lovely lunch sitting outside on one of the few perfect days we've had this year. Our waitress, Chloe, was friendly, prompt and attentive without being at all pushy. Great people watching. The arancini are little fat bombs, but so worth it! Side salad was very fresh and the tagliatelle primavera was light and delicious. Will continue to frequent Wheatfields!"

  • "I came here for dinner with my mom on a Friday night around 5pm. We thought it would be a quiet early meal, but the noise from people watching a sportsball game in the bar made it hard for us to hear each other. The dining room was empty except for us and a bar patron talking loudly on his cell phone. We ordered two pastas, neither of which was cooked. Half of my mom's linguine stuck together in a clump, and my radiatori seemed like it was served without being boiled at all. The meatballs my mom got were really well-seasoned but lukewarm. The sauces were great, but still, the food wasn't cooked. I would have sent it back, but since the sauce was already on it they would have thrown it out, and wasting food is worse than eating raw dough. "

  • "Great food and service. Our go to spot when in Saratoga. "

  • "My companions got to the restaurant before I did and were seated in the bar area in a booth. That was not where I thought we would be when I made the reservation. Did not like it there. The food was just okay. My pasta dish (one of the specials of the night) was very soft and overcooked. One diner with me said his rollatini was very rich and the salad needed seasoning and flavor. The service was all right, but not great. The night for me was ok, but nothing special. The company was special, the dinner was not. "

  • "Absolutely wonderful meal. Reestablished desire to eat organically and locally! "

  • "I love the relaxed feel of this dining room. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable. It's Kid Friendly restaurant."

  • "The food was excellent and the service was great as usual. We brought some out of town friends there for dinner and conversation and they loved it. We would recommend to anyone"

  • "We dined at Wheatfields for my husband's birthday and they never disappoint. From the fun pre dinner Happy hour with free cheese and crackers (don't miss the cheese) to impeccable service from the staff, they make every dining experience memorable. The food is consistently great and they don't fret over special orders or changes. This is one of our favorite go to restaurants!"

  • "Attentive staff without being annoying. Food was enjoyed by all three of us. Enjoy bringing family and friends here. Highly reccomend"

  • "Great food and ambience. The waitress was really nice and it's a great place for a fancier dinner. A little pricey but worth it! The bathroom was a little dirty. Overall good Italian place to go though."

  • "We've never been disappointed when dining at Wheatfields in Saratoga. For lunch or dinner, the meals have always been great. The wait staff are courteous and helpful. It's our go-to spot when we frequent Saratoga, which is at least monthly."

  • "We are always pleased going to Wheatfields. The food is very good and moderately priced for the experience."

  • "I took my family there on Saturday night for to celebrate an 18th birthday. We were seated at 6:00. At first the dining room was relatively quiet, however as the tables filled the noise became too loud for us to have a conversation without raised voices and repetition. The tables are arranged so close that the wait staff keep bumping into my chair. Their were a lot of children present which added to the noise. Word to the wise if you want quiet dining avoid prime time and the main dining room."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "Good food, nice atmosphere! We decided to take a booth and it was close to the bar...very noisy; u could hear all the conversations:( Not very well soundproofed"
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "I don't eat out often, but when I do this is my preferred place to go. I go for the vegetarian entrees with whole wheat pasta. The only reason I didn't rate the food 5 stars is that on this occasion I happened to order something I didn't like as much as on my previous visits. I usually stick to dishes I know I like, and they are 5-star at Wheatfields"

  • "My second visit to this restaurant. Excellent food and service!!!"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "We had dinner reservations for two and requested Main Dinning room seating. What we got was a seating for two right next to the bar that was so loud and I could not hear my wife who was only 4 ft. Away. No attempt was ever made by the staff to acknoladge my open table request for main room dining, nor did they apologize to me knowingly they completely disregarded my request. Yes the food was ok and our waiter was also ok. However, the hostest looked like she didn't care, and the seating arrangements we got, certainly showed this. For this reason we will no-longer be eating here again and dine else-ware."

  • "Everything was great about our dinner. Our table was ready on time, the food was great, and it was a nice place to celebrate the day. Will definitely go back again."

  • "Food only average. Risotto was overcooked. 3 cheese ravioli was mediocre."
    Dined on 2/5/2014
  • "Enjoyed the gluten free pastas and bread. Great customer service our server was pleasant and informative"

  • "Wheatfields has the ambience that I enjoy - good food, good friends. They have the best calamari this side of the moon. Although it was New Year's Eve when we dined with family, the service and food were great. I recommend the Saratoga and Clifton Park Wheatfields!"
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "We got a table on a busy New Year's Eve. I'm impressed by the use of local products. The pasta is homemade and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy environment with really good food."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "Great way to start First Night Saratoga. Great food in our stomachs ready to face the cold and fun. Service was great and attentive. Dinner came out in a timely manner yet we didn't feel rushed."
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "The service is great. Unfortunately the food is not that good. Nothing is properly seasoned and all the pasta is overcooked. Disappointed."
    Dined on 12/30/2013
  • "Never a disappointment, our waitress Bridget was wonderful and very attentive. The food amazing and the tables near the front especially are always fun for the view. Homemade meatballs the size of Manhattan that are scrumptious as is all the other homemade pasta......a must!"
    Dined on 12/30/2013
  • "We're from out of town but pass by Saratoga Springs regularly on I-87. From the web, Wheatfields looked like a nice special treat for Christmas eve with my daughter and her fiancé. Despite our protests they seated us next to the bar which might have been ok except for the three huge TVs. Considering how much we paid I would have expected something classier and an otherwise excellent dinner was ruined. I couldn't wait for it to be over so we could get out of there."

  • "Very festive and delicious food on Christmas Eve! Wonderful ambiance."
    Dined on 12/24/2013
  • "We had a very nice dinner but were seated in the area off of the bar and it was very loud. We will certainly go back but will ask for seating in the main dining room or up by the front windows. The food was great. Chicken Milanese was a delicious...and a large serving too! The grilled tuna was one of the specials for the day and it was terrific. The service was very, very good."
