  • "first time there. looked at menu and saw high end food and pricing. inlaws wanted to go to 99. thought I would treat them. food was excellent. place was loud. we were moved from the bar area to dining area to help and barely better. was making this a special anniversary dinner and highly dissappointed on the noise level. noticed curtains that could have been used to drop the noise level, but not used. recommend the wait staff actually sit down and try to have a conversation. impossible. won't return or recommend"

  • "A friend of mine & I have been meeting here once a month for lunch for almost a year, this is by far the worst service and food we've had. We've had slow service before and food we didn't really care for but this was horrible. One of the meals we received was wrong & it took almost 25 minutes to find someone to let them know that we received the wrong food. Then we were told we received what we received because they didn't have all the ingredients listed on the menu. We there for over an hour & half & never received refills on our drinks & there wasn't anyone to ask for them. When we received our bill we had been over charged, we again couldn't find the waiter to have the bill corrected we had to go to hostess to have it fixed."

  • "A friend and I have been waiting to get together for awhile...and we had three choices for Clifton Park...but decided on the Wheatfields Brunch because of the ambience and the additonal of a piano player - who was very talented and perfect for the occasion. We enjoyed our meal and cocktail choices very much, the waitress was very charming and also very good at checking back with us at just the right times. Would return for another brunch or lunch anytime!"

  • "We were not seated until 25 minutes after our "Open Table Reservation". We waited at the bar area, and the Manager approached us to ask if we were waiting for a reservation. We advised her that we made one on Open Table and that the Hostess was not concerned that we had been left waiting. The Hostess was very discourteous to us. The manager offered us a 'bar table' but we had asked to be seating in the dining area. We got the feeling that they needed the bar table to seat others who were waiting. This took away from the whole dining experience. If I were the manager, at the very least, I would have offered to buy a round of drinks for the inconvenience."

  • "I ordered the special Lobster Ravioli it was way to firm. Either two things happened. It was siting under a heat lamp to long or it was under cooked. If the pasta is made fresh there this makes me believe that it was left under a heat lamp. Either way my meal was just ok. Not impressed for 22 dollars."

  • "We went for our anniversary they asked us if we would like to sit by the fireplace instead of by the windows and they gave us a complementary dessert to share. Our server, John, was wonderful, our food came out nicely timed, it didn't seem rushed. When our entrees cane out they were piping hot. We had a very nice experience and plan to come back again."

  • "Took my girlfriend there for valentine’s day. We started with a few cocktails and homemade Bruscetta, was fantastic especially the balsamic topping they used. I had the spinach fettuccini Alfredo. Very good didn’t feel too heavy. My girlfriend had the pasta rigatoni. It was some of the best pasta noodles we have ever had."

  • "This was our first time at this location and we were not disappointed. Food and ambience were excellent. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. If there was anything negative to say it would be although the food was delicious the pasta was a bit soggy. We prefer al dente. This was a minor issue in the larger scope of things. We would definitely come back."

  • "Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar is a local and regional favorite, particularly when looking for a "special place" to meet friends or to be with someone special, celebrating an occasion or just for sharing time and a meal together. My most recent visit was for a Sunday Brunch and it was the first time I had the Crab Cakes Benedict. They were delicious - a great brunch suggestion! My friend had the Cobb Salad, which also looked very good and tasted great as well. We chose to eat at the bar, which suited our occasion very well. The only downside was the loudness of the music during our brunch - and I know we could have moved to a quieter table, but we felt relaxed and enjoyed the bar location, just not the volume of the music."

  • "A friend recommend we meet here for dinner and upon arrival I was skeptical due to the location. That said once I walked inside I was greeted by a warm waitstaff and a room full of wonderful dark wood, candle light ambience, and great music. Out waiter was very helpful and kind, we stayed for two hours and were not at all rushed. And the food! Varied selection and truly delicious. Leftovers made a perfect lunch the next day. Would definitely go again!"

  • "Service was outstanding. Wine selection was excellent. I personally ordered Bloody Marys....will never do that again. Worse drink ever...either the mix was too old or just an awlful brand of mix or they need to go online and get a better receipe. Drink came in this little and I mean little hurricane glass filled with ice to the top. Two swallows and it was gone. Food was just so, so. I might go again to sit out in the bar area, enjoy a glass of wine and music (Friday night) and maybe try one of their appetizers. Prices were reasonable."

  • "At Wheatfield's on Friday night. Our table, which was reserved many days in advance, was right next to the piano and the bar crowd. The piano was too loud, there was too much banging on the tambourine by the bar patrons, and it was very loud just because of the large bar crowd. We asked to have piano player turn down the speaker, but to no avail as they wanted the music to project out across the room. Why do they use that table on a Friday night? They gave us a complimentary desert, which was appreciated, although not as much as a new table would have been. They advised that next time we reserve for a Friday night we should ask to be seated in the back room. Not sure there will be next time. Thanks anyway."

I feel that the amount of tip should be left up to the customer, The customer is entitled to decide the percentage of tip for the service received. This would/could deter customers from returning to the establishment."

  • "We had high hopes going in to the restaurant. It was New Year's Eve menu, home made pasta etc. Well to start with, they had a special New Year's Eve menu. As for our entrees, we ordered off the special menu. I'll start with mine. I ordered the seafood fra diavalo. It consisted of two scallops, two clams, four mussels and a small lump of fish, in a rustic tomato sauce. This less than generous portion was served atop a large bowl of linguine. The pasta I was able to pull apart, was very tough and chewy. Almost all of it was stuck together, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp too long. My son had the filet mignon. He described his steak as tough. Really? Filet mignon? This was very disappointing, and we will not be returning"

  • "We reserved table in advance easily and it was ready when we arrived for lunch. Ambiance was best part of our experience. The service was ok, but lackluster. A number of requests had to be repeated bcs. waiter ignored reqest or forgot to bring the requested item. Worse was that they decided to fix an emergency exit door right next to our table while we were eating. It was well below freezing outside and we were a table with some folks in their 70s. They kept the door open and, believe me it was cold. Our complaint about it was handled dismissively with no concern expressed. After about 15 minutes of the frigid air, the door was fixed and no attempt was made to apologize or compensate for the imposition. Food, ok, but crab cakes were lousy."

  • "I took my group out to thank them for their contributions throughout the year at our company, and they wanted to go to Wheatfields. I've been there before (both the Saratoga Springs and the Clifton Park locations) with my wife, and thought it would be a nice place for our celebration. I made our reservation through Open Table, and everything went very well. Our table was waiting when we arrived, our waitress was friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and the food was delivered promptly, and, as expected, was outstanding. I would highly recommend Wheatfields to anyone looking for an upscale Italian venue in the Albany / Saratoga Springs area."

  • "We have been enjoying our visits to Wheatfields since they opened in CP. This past visit will make me think about our next. Our meal was okay, but the staff set the tone and could not overcome what we rated as a wasted night out. After being seated by the hostess, we had to ask for our waiter after 5 or so minutes. We were in no rush, but we wanted to order a glass of wine. The waiter then seemed to hold it against us the rest of the night with his lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness to us. Bread was brought out after our meal. He cost the restaurant $ this night as I did not order additional wine and an after dinner drink b/c I didn't feel like the restaurant deserved it. We even tip less than our standard, which we NEVER do."

The only reason I wouldn't give it outstanding was because the strip steak wasn't great (cooked exactly as we asked but was dry) and it was very loud in the restaurant. The pan seared scallops were AMAZING!!"
