A word from W.G. Kitchen and Bar Rookwood
WG Kitchen & Bar is a full service restaurant and bar featuring a 1500 label retail wine shop. Guests will enjoy our bistro style menu ranging from small plate appetizers (charcuterie, assorted cheeses, our family recipe meatballs and more) to full entrees (seafood, pasta, steak, lamb). We have 40+ wines available by the glass or, for the adventurous, by the flight, which is an individual wine tasting comprised of 4 wines in a specific category. We also carry 12+ craft/import/domestic bottled beers. And, finally, guests can enjoy one of our specialty cocktails or their preferred drink from our full bar.

Guests can enjoy excellent, full service at our bar or on our beautiful patio on a first come, first serve basis. OR you can make your reservation for our dining room now.
Either way, we can't wait to see you!

The menu looked good, but it wasn't as good as it looked. The filet was okay, the potatoes with it tasted like instant. The macaroni and cheese was cheesy, lacked flavor and wasn't done (crispy) on top like it should have been. The cocktails and wine were very good and we liked the atmosphere. Our server was completely slow and we didn't see him running to lots of other tables either. He had no urgency to him, at all. We were seated for over 20 minutes before we go our first cocktail. We won't rush back; not awful, but plenty of room for improvement.

We like good (great) wine with a nice meal and will often spend as much on wine as the food. WG was a home run. They had wine flights available of 4 wines in 8 different categories starting at ~$15 to ~$35 for about 1.6 glasses of wine. My wife had the Premium Cabernet, I had the regular Cabernet flight to compare them. We ordered the Antipasto Board, salads. The entrees we selected were the filet and salmon. We finished off the meal with Creme Brule that was awesome. Over all the experience was enhanced by the relaxed pace and knowledge of our waiter (Mike). As this was our first visit to WG (and not the last) we had a lot of questions and he did a great job of answering them.

The wine list was excellent, as was the service. We felt the food was good, not great. Loved the bar. Loved the wine store. Want to come back with small group of four and enjoy one of the two private areas. We also felt the wine flights were very reasonably priced with unique selections.

This will be our next 'go to' place. I loved the 'wine flight' option which allows you to enjoy an array of wines for your price point. The $14.99 option was great and the wines were very tasty. Of course, there was the higher end which perhaps at dinner, I might select. I liked the food options...all solid choices that I enjoy (the salmon salad was terrific). Again, love it love it love it. Will return fo rsure

This restaurant is one of our favorites for either a light meal from their small bites selections or a full dinner. Food is very good, service excellent, and the wine selection is great given they also have a retail wine shop on premise.

Out with friends for early dinner before theater on our recommendation. Everything met our expectations and lived up to our hype. I wanted a steak, my date salmon, our friends small plates. The wine flights added to the 'choice' experience. When we left the restaurant was vibrant. Next visit together we will be on the bar side.

So many of my friends are not aware of this great restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious and they are more than willing to substitute one side dish for another if you don't like the one that comes with your dinner selection. I so appreciate that! The servers cannot do enough to please and they are so attentive. Everyone I have brought here has absolutely loved it. You will, too!

A small gem tucked away in the Rookwood Mall. Eclectic menu, warm atmosphere and broad wine offering makes this a stand-out dining experience in Cincinnati. I dined her three times and all the meals were excellent; attention to detail, interesting flavour combinations and high quality ingredients. Attentive and knowledgeable service was consistent. Great date night spot.

The WG food is typically average, but the burger was exceptional that evening. Sat outside and it is a bit noisy because the cars driving in and out of Rookwood, but otherwise delightful. My husband and I had dinner at WG's and it was very enjoyable. I ordered the spicy shrimp pasta which was very good & flavorful (I would go back just to order this dish again). The manager greeted us and made a toast with us for my husband's birthday which was a very thoughtful gesture and made my husband feel special. We ordered the Rosa di Rosa which was delicious! Our food didn't take long to come out. Needless to say, we will be back!

Our experience at Wine Guys was excellent and as a group we plan to return, but individually we all agreed we come back with our spouses as well. We went at an off time so perhaps the noise level isn't always as quiet as it was when we were there. The food was delicious! The New England clam chowder I had was as good as anything I've ever had in Massachusetts or Maine, and the ingredients in my chicken salad wrap were fresh and snugly encased in a tomato basil wrap. Our young waitress was both friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to many return visits...this was my first time at WG.

Our group of 4 spent a most enjoyable evening dining under the wisteria arbor, with but one small glitch - potato-wrapped mahi-mahi turned up at the table instead of the bacon-wrapped shrimp that had been ordered. Apologies from both the waiter and the manager were followed by a bowl of their delicious tomato soup to tide us over while we awaited the delayed shrimp dish. The mahi-mahi was also left for us and we all enjoyed sampling it. Mistakes can happen in a busy kitchen, but W.G. sure knows how to make up for them and how to keep the customer happy. Well Done, Wine Guy!

Most importantky, the food is great. A varied menu with a lot of different options; and half portions of many. The service was attentive and professional and at the samr time it took us a lot longer than we are used to to dine. The ambiance is "as advertised" with wine being very prominent and the attached wine store is superb. The location has limited parking on a busy night and while there is a lot of parking in the shopping center it is more like going to a downtown spot and having to walk a few blocks. The noise level is high so if you are looking for a nice quiet dinner conversation it won't happen here.

Tried WG's for the first time, and overall, enjoyed it very much. There were a few snafu's; my appetizer came out with the meal, so I sent it back, and the water tasted bad. I was not particularly upset, things happen sometimes, but our lovely server spoke to the managers and they both came to speak to us and apologize. The atmosphere is nice, our server was excellent, the food was very good, and there is a great selection of wine. We will be going back.

It's been over a year since I first visited. Based on how busy it was at that time, I made a reservation for this past Saturday night. Well, that wasn't necessary as the place was only about half full. That could be good or bad but I was thinking it would be a little more "lively". I was catching up with friends so actually it worked out well since we didn't feel rushed and could hear each other's conversation. We had the wine flights and shared a number of plates as our dinner. Food was good and our server was very accommodating and well paced with service. Overall a good experience.
