Great food and good service. The meal begins with a complimentary bowl of edamame which is unique but when one of our diners asked for some bread the waitress replied that the restaurant didn't have any?? The food runners were a bit confused and delivered the wrong food to our table and quickly whisked it away when the waitress intervened. It did take quite a while to get our entrees but they were deliciously worth the wait. The food nicely plated although a bit lacking in side offerings and garnish. Overall, a local gem and one worth your dining time.

Found West East Bistro as a result of LI Restaurant Week and came back again with friends. The service was wonderful (we asked for Shawn again) and the food was delicious. The live music was enjoyable and not so loud as to stifle conversation. Very enjoyable and we will be back.

There were only 4 servers to a room of at least 100 people. There also was no bartender and it appeared that the servers had to make the drinks for their tables which caused a big delay as the night went on. The portions are small and the prices are high.

So I came to this restaurant not really knowing what to expect. The atmosphere is one of a relaxing bistro. Prominent cultural icons hanging on the walls, low lighting, and dark wood set the mood. Yet it still felt comfortable and down to earth; not stuck up or intimidating. The food is all natural, hormone free, grass fed, etc.. Farm to table type. Did I mention tasty? The food blew my mind! I felt like I was in a 5 star restaurant in Manhattan. I can't wait to go back.

We were introduced to West East Bistro thru LI Restaurant week, the reviews on Open Table sealed our decision to try it out. The service was wonderful (Kudos to Shawn) and the food was delicious- short ribs cut with a fork and pumpkin ravioli that was perfect. Live music on Saturday night was an unexpected bonus. We will be back

I had a great evening with friends at East West. We tried it out for Restaurant week. The smoked tomato soup was delish! Our server Sean was so friendly and he made sure we were well taken care of. I can't wait to go back to try the lamb. Great dessert too. Jalapeno chocolate gelato. It was deceiving at first but ended up having a great kick. So, in short, go and check out East West Bistro. You will love it!!

If you are looking for the typical dining experience, you will be hard-pressed to find something on the West East menu. The food is excellent, the tastes trend to the exotic, and there is no guilt about eating food that is not healthful! I love that the veggies are organic, and the meat (although I am a pescatarian) is humanely raised. Eat here. Although the restaurant was a bit short-staffed on our visit, the staff is generally friendly and helpful.

We thought the cuisine was Asian (a memory from a previous visit). We were pleasantly surprised at the change in décor and menu. In addition, our dining experience was enhanced by the presence of two performers (guitar and voice). The food tasted delicious and the presentation of the food was quite attractive. Our server was friendly and very helpful in answering our questions.

We were delighted with the food. All of our food was interesting, well prepared. Descent wine and beer list. There was live music, and this was one of the few times where both my wife and I felt the music added to the experience ... really quite nice. Noise levels were happily on the moderate side (this is particularly appreciated, as compared to some LI restaurants). One flaw: theservice. The wait staff, while earnest, seem to have little training. When asked about items on the menu, the waitress could only manage "really good" for pretty much everything. The overall experience for a Saturday night at a LI bistro was very good.

We found this restaurant by happenstance, looking for some place other than our usual Friday places. The food was an eclectic mix of Asian, Middle Eastern and American faire. We shared lamb potstickers and small vegitarian egg rolls for appetizers, my wife had a salmon dish that was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. i had a broiled Mahi Mahi filet served on a bed of white rice with sauted aspargus, with a mustard-y sauce. Very tasty indeed. We drank Chardonnay and Merlot by the glass. Both were delicious. Too full for dessert. there was live music, maybe a touch too loud, but pleasant. all in all, a terrific dining experience, and we will certainly go back.

I was in the area on business and an old friend lives nearby. I called him up and he agreed to meet me for dinner. I ask a co-worker and they recommend West East Bistro. I could not be any happier about that recommendation. The wine list was long enough to make choosing difficult. The menu, from appetizers to desert, was filled with beautifully described meal selections. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The pot stickers, green beans, and marinated steak were excellent. The desert was delicious, and even the late night coffee was fresh and flavorful. Our server, Sean, was attentive without hovering. The kitchen also knew how to leave just enough time between courses. I will return to this gem of a restaurant!

Don't listen to the haters complaining about portion sizes or prices. West East is a special place among restaurants today. The attention on food quality is unsurpassed. All vegetables and fruits are organic, seasonal and locally sourced. The beef is grass-fed, the chicken and pork are pastured and the fish is all wild caught. In a day and age of GMO and antibiotic-laden food, it is so refreshing to be able to enjoy a delicious meal that you know is good for you to boot. The service is friendly and efficient and everything we ate was really wonderful. If you want oversized portions of poor quality food drowned in sugar, then look someplace else. We will be back to West East for the wonderfully tasty, inventive and healthful cuisine!

Clean food - great ingredients cooked with TLC & creative flair. The house made Asian Burger was the best I have had - topped with duck bacon & a sunny side up egg! The seasonal Fall Salad was awesome - combination of textures & flavors - toasted kale, pumpkin seed, watercress & baby arugula! Heaven for foodies..

Knowing how health conscious I am and the fact that we are foodies, a friend of mine recommended West East Bistro for our family and we could not have been more pleased! My kids both loved what they had - Crispy Okra, Chicken Lomein, and Chicken Fried Rice - and I could not have been more thrilled that the ingredients were organic and that they were eating something other than chicken fingers and fries! My husband and I loved our food as well - we shared the Grass-Fed Filet Mignon and the Baked Flounder - yum! For dessert we were pleasantly surprised to see that most of their items were gluten free! We had the Pumpkin Cake and the Creme Brulee which were heavenly. I love being able to take my kids to a nice restaurant with quality food!

Disappointing!. That's the word that best describes our experience at the Hicksville restaurant. Looking at the menu online, we had high hopes. Baang, Baaang, Shrimp. Sounded good. Fried okra. Can't get that at too many LI places. Here's the thing: Great sounding menu. Small, expensive proportions. Fair service. And LOUD. When the 4 of us arrived, only a couple of tables were occupied. Easy conversation. Then a few more people came in and the folk singer started playing. While she had a Judy Collins voice, West East is a small place and when she played, people had to shout to be heard. This went on for an hour.

We love to visit West East Bistro because the menu is diverse, always interesting, and never fails to delight! At our last visit, the ahi tuna appetizer was as good as I've ever had anywhere, and the duck sliders were large enough to be an entree! My husband enjoyed the venison steak immensely (not my thing) but the salmon was extremely tasty. We enjoyed a cabernet this visit, but the wine list is fun to navigate because they do not carry just "the usual" wines. An overall delicious experience!

This was my second time to this restaurant and it was excellent for the second time. only fresh natural ingredients are used. Our server was pleasant and attentive, owner chef visited our table to make sure we were satisfied. We were a foursome and we ordered many dishes and shared them. Scallops were sweet and cooked to perfection. Lobster mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Spicy shrimp were cooked perfectly, steak was tender. Warm chocolate cake with ice cream, did not disappoint. I recommended this restaurant to 2 other people, and both say they will return, I will also.

It doesn't feel like a professional eatery. The owners and their family (kids) were hanging out and easily identifiable, which felt unprofessional. There were two high-school- or college-aged kids serving as the entire busyboy/waitstaff, with the owners occasionally helping, but mostly they just sat around. Food came out within an appropriate amount of time after ordering (and was delicious), but we consistently found ourselves sitting around waiting (to order, to see a dessert menu, to tell them we weren't interested in dessert, to get the check, and to pay with credit card). To their credit, everyone was extremely friendly, nice, polite, and considerate.

Waste of time and money. It took 35 minutes to get our salads. The watermellon cubes served in a martini glass was ok but rediculously priced at $9.00. It took another half hour to get our main course. It took 3 requests to get water refill. The serving size is much too small for the price. The food is decent but not worth the poor service and high prices. The final blow was waiting 15 minutes for a $3.00 cup of coffee. Will not be returning.

Service is terrific, they really go out of their way to make you feel special, and accommodate most requests.
