Diner Reviews
  • "Good food. Great ambience. Unique decor. Wonderful service."

  • "Girls Night. Walking in, the host & sitting down, the service was wonderful. As I sat down with my other two friends (already seated) our server was 'rushed.' In a nutshell we had rushed through our entire meal. There were no tables after us and there were empty tables around us. While we were eatting desert--our server decided it was time for the bill--We had not even finished our course; we paid. We waited for a friend who was coming to eat late. We waited 20minutes, never saw the server again or asked if we wanted to get a drink while we waited. In the end the food (as delicious as it was) did not triumph over the mediocre service we received. We went somewhere else for drinks and second dinner. Too bad since I loved Patria."

  • "Went there for summerlicious. Had beef cheeks. Overall very good but some may find them to be small portions. Ambience is upscale casual."

  • "The beef tartar, scotch egg and crispy hen is a must try!"

  • "Food was great; didn't wait too long for the plates to come out. I'd recommend their house sausages - they're juicy and tender!"

  • "Weslodge is a great place. I went there many times and the food is always great. You should have lucky to reserve a table via open table. Don't try to call them. Usually is an answering machine. My advise is reserve in advance."

  • "Ive been here before and had the Lamb and it was wonderful. I recently went for Summerlicious and was hoping for the same satisfaction, but unfortunately not. The quality of the food is top notch, but the portions, even for Summerlicious, are extremely small. Starter I had the scotch egg, which I new would be small as Ive had it before but the main course was the smallest bit of Braised Beef Cheek you could imagine. We each had one drink each and the $35 menu and our final bill came out to $135 all in. For this Id expect to at least be full. Recommend this Summerlicious menu for someone that is looking to excite the taste buds, but don't expect to leave with a full belly"

  • "Yummy salmon tartare! Would go back again for a business lunch."

  • "Food was delicious. Highlights for me were the crispy hen with biscuits and the duck bacon and egg Small share. Our server was great but the other people bringing out food and drinks seemed a bit mixed up."

  • "Little pricey but the food was good for the most part, we had the mostly meat platter for two, dessert, one drink each, over $100..."

  • "Enthusiastic staff made great recommendations and took good care of our group. Food was all good, but some were definitely better than others. Those that impressed really blew us out of the water. Evening slightly marred by the market price of the lamp chop special (5 chops) being $62; I wish out waiter had disclosed to us earlier."

  • "A beautiful interior, friendly service, and tasty brunch foods. I'll be back for sure. I must say tht I was drawn in by the big yellow doors. Brilliant decor. "

  • "Different foods for those who want to try something different other than steak and potatoes. Meant for sharing so great for a group. The menu is small but the quality is very good. I would definitely recommend and return for another visit."

  • "Though it's on the pricy side, my wife and I were completely satisfied with the amazing food and service. Looking forward to head there again! "

  • "We really enjoyed the offerings here. The short ribs in particular were excellent. However, for the price the portions were small. The cocktails were fantastic -- thoughtful, well mixed, delicious. Again, though, the prices were too high."

  • "I was slightly hesitant to try WS for dinner but had been there twice for drinks and found the menu enticing. I was not disappointed. Their cocktails were delicious; as were their great wine offerings. The food was equally good: namely, the ceviche was well prepared and their (whole organic) glazed chicken (for two) was delicious. All of the staff (not just our great server) were friendly and attentive; even accommodating a seating request made via my on-line booking. Clearly this hip "saloon" is capitalizing on the young, King West scene but they pull it off in a rare moment of "not trying too hard" - i.e., their trendy vibe compliments but does not eclipse the fact that they are putting out great food. I would not hesitate returning. "

  • "The ambiance is a testament to manhood. The food is excellent. But above all else the service is superb. You have to try one of their excellent cocktails. "

  • "We were in town from Montreal visiting a friend. Knowing that Monday nights are quiet everywhere, we took the recommendation and went here. Best. Decision. Ever."

  • "Went on a Monday and the new addition to the menu that one can only get on a Sunday or Monday was awesome. A rockstone platter of aged beef slices, fried chicken, pulled pork, buttermilk biscuits, ribs, with various mustards and spreads."

  • "This was my first visit to Weslodge and it was on a Monday. To be perfectly honest, I was expecting it to be a bit boring and the staff to be distracted/bored as well. I was in for a pleasant surprise as the staff were great - very friendly and attentive! The food was fantastic - my friend and I ordered a couple of small shares and one large share (under the advice of our server). The food was delicious, presented very well and delivered quite quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really inviting & makes it easy to chat. I was also beyond surprised to find the place very lively for a Monday. By the time my friend & I left, the place was almost fully packed. A very cool place - I will definitely be back!!"

  • "The room is very well Art Directed to feel as though one has just entered the gentleman's hunting lodge in downtown Manhattan. The wait staff were pleasant, almost "sophisticated" in their knowledge of the menu. They had manners consistent with the art direction of the room - gentlemen's gentlemen. It occurs to me in writing this that the place skews very male, for better or worse. Food was excellent, prices fair."

  • "If you are looking for a place with some out of the ordinary food - this is it. This was my second time to Weslodge and will go back again and again. Amanda our server was fantastic, personable, knowledgeable on the menu and a great sense of humour."

  • "okay but too expensive for what they offered, and …. I think I would have liked a bigger menu most of the items on the menu where done when we arrived for our dinner."

  • "I had a friend in town from South Africa and we had a great time here. Food was good although a bit pricey and portion sizes were small. Service was outstanding, and the atmosphere is very cool. I would totally go back and definitely recommend checking it out even if I is just for drinks!"

  • "I've wanted to try Weslodge for quite sometime, and I'm glad I finally did. The food was great and the service was very personable. The food is meant to be shared, though I thought the portions were a bit small for sharing (so we just ordered extra). Overall great experience and I will definitely come back again."

  • "I would go back and sit at the bar for a few, albeit expensive, drinks however, I would not run back here for dinner. The food is good but, not good enough that it was worth the price. The truth is, Toronto just has way more better options. I recommend the 'Toronto' if you order a cocktail. The only real complaint I have is that we had an 8:45pm seating (not late) and by the time we ordered, 2 of their specials were already sold out."

  • "I have to say - when I am asked to pay $15-18 for a drink, and $110 for a small porterhouse (yes, you read that right) i want to leave feeling like either the food or the service were extraordinary. Neither was. Too bad - the ambiance is awesome, the menu is great, and the quality of the food and drinks was well above average. But at the prices they charge - i could have eaten at any number of fine dining restaurants for less."

  • "The restaurant was very loud but we had a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday, so can't really fault the restaurant for that. Most restaurants in the area are loud at that time. The food was tasty but expensive for what it was. The service was excellent."

  • "Food was good, but portions are quite small for the price. Since the dishes are "designed to share",splitting each dish between the 4 of us, we each basically got a small taste. I left hungry and ate again when I got home. Rustic hunting lodge ambiance is nice."

  • "Eating out alone on business trips isn't always a pleasure however doing it at Weslodge Saloon made me feel like I was part of the group. The waiters were always cheching in and refilling glasses. The quale egg app was tender and delightful. The main course cooked perferctly to my liking. Great place. Will return again"

  • "That's the place Toronto has been looking for for many years and finally it arrived! Great crowd, good drinks, amazing food, and service!"

  • "The food was amazing, the service was a little stiff, but not unkind. High noise level, but I like being in an energetic place. Overall would love to go back. Just need work for the service."

  • "This was a rare night out with good friends and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were especially impressed with the ambiance, in fact, the entire environment. The restaurant was full, but, still comfortable with subdued lighting, great food (steak and brussel sprouts in particular) and a lively atmosphere. Overall an excellent experience and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we intend to visit the related 'sister' restaurant next door on my next trip to Toronto."

  • "The food itself was delicious but after paying so much and getting so little, we left hungry. To get full we would have had to spend at least $60 each amongst 3 females. Ceviche is more potato than actual fish. The deep fried items on the menu are good as all deep friend food. The overpriced steak was ok, too chewy. The staff are great and our waiter, Daniel, was such a great entertainment. Great vibe, beautiful space, well decorated. I would probably come here again only for drinks but even they are overpriced at $15-17 for a gin and tonic."

  • "All the food was quite good but a little on the expensive side. Same with the cocktails. Wine list was good."
    Dined on 1/4/2014
  • "Great food, such a shame the service was appalling! The waitress that we had was not interested in our questions and was rushing us to order. At the end of the night we went to the bar for drinks and one the bartenders called my Irish friend a really rude name. Good food and beautiful décor but never dining there again!"
