The service was attentive but not invasive. The food options were great - where else can you get an old fashioned turkey dinner, with mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce - or shrimp and grits. It was all delicious. The patio is huge, surrounded by large trees and beautiful hanging baskets. The fire grilled Mahi Mahi with Wasabi mashed potatoes and crisp vegetables was outstanding....everyone at the table was very happy with their entrees; i.e., pot roast, lobster mac and cheese....We will definately go back to Welshfield Inn.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorial Day visitWe went to the Welshfield Inn for our anniversary. We had the pork chop special of the day, and the pot roast. Both meals were excellent. Our server surprised us with flutes of champaign to help us celebrate! In an area of Ohio with a lot of land that is unused, and where there are many small towns, but not many great restaurants, this is a treasure. Service was very good. Food was good, but the prices were outstanding. We paid what we would have paid and a bar restaurant, but got fine dining service, atmosphere, and food. I was hoping for something a little special to celebrate my birthday, and Welshfield Inn more than filled the bill. It was the first time there for my husband and me although our children who were with us have been there for lunch several times. Originally we planned to bring a cake, then changed our mind, but the staff still brought my mom a nice little dish of ice cream to celebrate (without the whole staff making a ruckus and singing to her) The food was excellent, with a variety for all. The one thing that could be improved on is that I felt rushed through my salad due to the speed that the main entre was served. A fine dining experience should not be rushed. It should be paced so that the customer has a nice, relaxing experience.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood spotI've been to Welshfield Inn for many occasions-a wedding, anniversary party, wine tastings & just for a bite. I've never been disappointed. There's always great service, friendly people and it's in my own back yard. In Eastern Geauga County, there aren't any other restaurants of this caliber, so it's nice to always have Welshfield there to catch a bite.

The weekly specials - $5 Burger Mondays, $40 dinner for 2 with wine on Thursday, early bird specials and Friday Fish Fry's add value. We frequently choose to eat on the patio when weather permits. This visit we were in the garden room which become a bit too noisy for easy conversation.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent, gourmetThe food was excellent, gourmet cooking but with hearty portions, unlike some other fine dining restaurants. We had the scampies and medallion of filet mignon in the Chardonnay cream sauce and the sea scallops on risotto - both were delicious and cooked to perfection! The calimari were rather salty but perhaps that is because we don't eat a lot of salt usually, and the chopped salads were full of ingredients chopped very small. The waitress could not have been friendlier and she gave excellent service, it was not her fault some other table was given our starter.
