Diner Reviews
  • "Outside seating was nice. Waitstaff was pleasant and efficient. Food was good, but they were out of several things we wanted (it was a Sunday) and for being a lobster place we were looking for more whole/half lobster options than what they offer. I recommend, but just be aware of the caveats."

  • "Restaurant was very quiet for a holiday night. Very small wine list was out of our first two choices. Lobster entrees were good but had to be for the price. Seared tuna never even saw an oven flame. Rare is good but cold is not. Can't recommend."

  • "Reservations not accepted, had to wait about an hour, ordered specialty drinks with gift mug, they had no mugs left! Very bad experience."

  • "We enjoy the two different levels of outdoor seating with views of the lake. The food is fantastic. Without a doubt the best on the lake and then some."

  • "Waitress brought our drinks... didn't see her for 20 min after. Drinks were empty for 10 min. Finally a guy who looked like the dishwasher from the kitchen brought our food... I asked if our waitress was ok... he said, "yes." He asked if we wanted more bread... I said, "yes please." He never came back and our waitress finally showed a few minutes later... no bread though. Food was average... I would expect to pay half for what we got. They overcharged on the bill and then questioned me if I was right. I had to show her on the specials list. She fixed it. It was extremely loud... which made it hard just to converse across the table. We are in our 30's... and not deaf. That's all... wouldn't go back, ever."

  • "The portions were large, and the food was delicious. An enormous antipasto was made with high quality ingredients and presented beautifully. The bread board served with the meal was great. "

  • "You would think with a name like the Lobster Pound that they would have lobster."

  • "I have lived in the Lakes Region for twenty five years and I will say this is the best restaurant in the area. People will say its a tourist trap because of the Weirs being a tourist destination but this is so untrue. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Outstanding."

  • "We had dinner here and it was amazing. Reviews were up and down but we agreed check it out for ourself. Glad we followed our guy. We agree its the best food in the lakes region. We will be back soon. Our server Britney was really nice."

  • "The food and service were great for it being so busy. Excellent value. We went on half off Monday. What a deal!!! The fisherman's platter is ridiculously huge. I don't think 1 person could possibly eat it. The specialty drinks were delicious. Definitely will be back in the summer to sit on the deck."

  • "Everything from the food to the service is top notch at this place. We had a variety of seafood and pasta dishes and they were all great. We overheard the table next to us saying the pizza was awesome. Although there is two feet of snow on the ground we will be back in the better weather to sit out on the roof deck overlooking the lake. We ended the night having a night cap in the lounge sitting on the couches watching sports on the big screen tv."

  • "Had some of the best Italian food I have had anyplace. Looking forward to returning very soon."

  • "We dined for Valentines Day - there wasn't any entree on the menu that resembled the photos on the web site; they didn't have any Pinot Grigio wine and all other whites were sweet, so I picked a merlot (which wasn't very good) and swapped with my husband who had ordered a Cabernet Sauvignon; when we ordered 2 more glass of the Cab the waitress came back with 1/2 a glass and said that's all they had left. Thankfully, we were not charged for the 1/2 glass! I would have expected a better selection AND to actually have it. We were disappointed and will probably not return."

  • "Good family place overall with good food. Presentation from kitchen was above what was expected for a place where staff wears T shirts.."

  • "Had the steak, ordered it to be rare, came medium. was tender and juicy. Only one waitress on Duty being Christmas day and slow. But she did a good job very pleasant. Room was on the cool side, could had been warmer."

  • "So close to a really good restaurant but....world renowned soup was good but not hot. Maple sugar crusted salmon was delicious but perhaps a bit too sweet. The potato and vegetable were typical. Extra points when the owner came out to speak with us tourists and check on our meals which were just fine. Service was nice. Restaurant has a decent selection of wine. Beautifully fun mural on all walls added to the nautical theme. Even on a cold rainy fall night we were at the sea. Luscious choice of desserts."

  • "We needed a place for 7 people to eat (two were teenagers) and Weirs Beach Lobster Pound turned out to be a good spot - something for everyone on the menu. Fish is fresh and nicely cooked - we tried the Lobster Mac and Cheese as an appetizer - shared between 7 people it was quite a size - and absolutely delicious. Dining area is pretty basic, kind of like a camp house, but still comfortable. Service was quite friendly and attentive."

  • "My girlfriend and I went there on a Tuesday night so we didn't expect it to be that busy, which it wasn't. The service was great, probably because there wasn't many people there, but still it was quick service. The food was a bit too salty for my liking (I got the Baked Stuffed Shrimp) but it seemed like a nice place to go to after a long day at Weir's Beach to grab something to eat quick."

  • "The food here was very good. The Lobster was outstanding. For a 3 pounder, I don't know seemed like clser to 4LB. to me. The claws were hugh. I brought those home for a Lobster salad. We did start with the Calamari with a ginger coating. Good, but too sweet & too oily. In the furture I'd stick with standard style. Richard then had the backed stuffed Haddock. Stuffing was excellent, but the fish a little dry, still very good, though. As for me As earlier I had the Lobster. This had a nice "ritz" cracker stuffing with lots of chopped scallops. Just the stuffing was a perfect meal un to itself. It was nearly identical to Anthony's Pier 4. The slight difference is Anthony's uses more "tomale", which I love. do get the homade fries, really great."

  • "My fish was not prepared as explained on the menu, but the oysters were a great appetizer and my wife's shrimp dish was good."

  • "The menu offers a great variety. Such that everyone in our party of 7 founds something great. The food is really good and I really enjoyed the pasta, which I think is homemade. The server was sweet but a bit forgetful as we had to ask for things multiple times. It's fairly resonably priced though the lobster was overpriced, especially considering the market price for lobster at the time we went was at an all time low. Next time we'd ask the market value first because it appears theirs are higher than usual. All and all our group would go back and I would recommend it to others."

  • "The food was okay, but the restaurant was very noisy. It was hard to hear people at our table. Also, there was an annoying glare from the front windows. They really should put up window treatments to cut the glare."

  • "We were in New Hampshire for a camp visit with our kids and we went to the Lobster Pound on the camp's recommendation. My daughter and I both had the lobster roll, which was delicious, but the rest of the meal was mediocre at best. It's a neighborhood hotspot and they have a big turnover on a Saturday night so we felt rushed and a little tense eating there. Our server, although nice, was clearly trying to move us through our meal as quickly as possible which was fine because I was there with kids but otherwise would have been annoying."

  • "We had visited the Lobster Pound at Weirs Beach 6 years before, when it was a "lobster shack" type establishment and the prices were reasonable back then. Now they are the Lobster Pound and Italian Eatery and so much has changed. The waitress Crystal was amazing... top of her game, however the kitchen got our order wrong, food was not completely cooked and over all a very unsatisfied meal. We will not be returning."

  • "If you name yourself "Lobster Pound" you ought to have lobsters. When we were ready to order we were told that there was only one lobster left, a five pounder. We ordered it right away much to the dismay I am sure of all the folks who came in after us. The lobster was neither sweet nor tender. In fact it was pretty dried out. Needless to say, we won't be back."

  • "Great lobster rolls, lobster pie and lobster bisq! Our only complaint was the noise..it was deafening at the dinner service we ate at."

  • "The only thing that I didn't like about this restaurant, is that the dinner meals didn't come with salads."

  • "Food was very good, and service was also good. Our server was a very charming person however, it was obvious that there was little or no training given to this person. In a restaurant where the food is pricey more attention should be paid to the skill level of the servers. This is an all too familiar issue at many restaurants - a willing server who because of inexperience needs proper instruction and supervision. You would be well served to develop a standard for service and then TEACH it to your servers. I would still return to your restaurant the next time I'm in the area."

  • "I had so much fun at The Lobster Pound. A big group of us went, and everybody loved the food. They have a lot of Italian offerings which is great because not everyone in our group liked seafood. Our waitress was also great. She handeled 20 of us with ease. Over all it was a great experience and a really fun night. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Another trip to the Lobster Pound and everything was perfect. We noticed the sign out front now says Italian, so most of the party got italin dishes. They said some of it was the best italian ever! I stuck with the 3lb steamed lobster and it was great. The only down side was the weather did not work out so we couldnt sit on the roof deck and enjoy the views."

  • "Our server was very nice, however every meal we ordered came out wrong. The Prime rib was overdone, one meal was cold, one was the wrong meal. Two of our meals were comped but the delay with the changes ruined the overall meal. Our waitress really tried hard but the kitchen staff obviously didn't have it together."

  • "I brought a group of six on July 3rd for dinner and it was busy, however it took them over an hour to bring our food to the table and when it finally got to us, it seemed like it had been sitting around as it was dry. It is a large restuarant and were busy, but they weren't at capacity and should have handled the crowd they had. The manager did comp us a round of drinks, but I won't be going back. Not worth the money!"

  • "My prime rib was good but my lobster was overcooked. My date ordered an unsweetened iced tea, received a sweet tea and when she mentioned it to the waitress, the waitress argued it was unsweetened until she took it back. Later she told us that she tasted it and that it was indeed sweet tea. My date then ordered pasta alfredo but received chicken alfredo. Neither mistake was rectified. Guess they worry more about looking good than giving good service."
