Weber Grill - LombardGreat for a leisure lunchIt was Saturday 1:30pm. The restaurant was pretty empty and we were being seated at the bar.
The bartender is also our server. The Safe Sax on the Beach with a twist and Virgin Pina Colada was good in taste and presentation.
The starter sampler was a great dish to have if you can't decide what to have to start with. Wisconsin Burger and Pull Pork Sandwich were excellent in quality and quantity. Finish off with a Dessert Trio. The Creme Brulee was my fav of the three. Next time will have the full size version of it. They food was reasonably priced and delicious. The wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. I was able to have a prolonged conversation in a very comfortable environment. Only detail was that my mom's skirt steak was warm but she still said it tasted great. Each plate is around $30 which isn't a bad price because it's good food. I had the filet mignon oscar. It was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. My husbands pork chop was delicious and my sons new york strip was grilled the way he wanted. I thought we were going to a casual little place to have lunch. It was warm & welcoming with a few different rooms, fireplaces, a porch with a view and the food was outstanding. Our table was perfect for the group, not crowded, and we could all easily converse. The food choices, both from the regular menu and specials, were great...something for everyone...and each person raved about their meal. I ordered the scallop special and have never had scallops prepared that good. Our server was excellent...knew just when to be at the table with whatever we needed...yet was not overbearing. His knowledge of the menu was vauable in making our selections. Other entrees ordered were the meatloaf, chicken and mahi mahi...all were enjoyed and no complaints from anyone. Noise was high. Our server was friendly but rushed. The food still came out hot and in a timely fashion and was very good. Steak kebobs as an appetizer were perfect on a bed of onion rings. All of our entrees from chicken to steak were well cooked and good. The one dessert was tasty. We were seated at the very first booth inside the door so there was a lot of foot traffic around our table. Of course, it was Saturday night and we learned that this restaurant is very popular on Saturday nights.
