Diner Reviews
  • "We had a good time. Unfortunately die the vegetable was a little dark (black) barbequed."

  • "Very good food. Large portions enough to share a meal."

  • "Don't even consider this a Chicago Steakhouse. They are not worthy of residing in a shopping mall. Bad experience from the host, to the server, to the food. Server did not even no soup if the day. Menu poor, and food worse. Looks like a rundown supper club."

  • "For breakfast it was not bad. Decided to try it for dinner. Had requested a quiet area when making my reservation but was shown to a very busy noisy area. Had to request move. Quality of food was mediocre. Service leaves much to be desired."

  • "The restaurant was understaffed and very slow. It took 1 1/2 hours to get food and it was a 2 hour meal. The food was good when it arrived, but I wouldn't wait that long again for it. Maybe it was an off day due to the holiday, but my experience wasn't a great one."

  • "Overall average and uninspired meal, similar to most backyard cookouts. For the price and the advertising, I would expect much more. The grilled food generally lacked seasoning except for the burgers. The salads were average. French fries flimsy and unseasoned. The worst part of the night was being greeted by a distinct musty smell on my arrival in the main area. That should have been a cue to leave, unfortunately I persisted and was not rewarded. Too many better restaurants within walking distance to ever go back to Weber again."

  • "I chose this restaurant because I had been here before- and recalled a great experience. There seems to be a lot more changes since that time. I remember being provided quality food, with a great presentation. Hot towels were provided to each patron before or after your meal. Now it just reminds me of a noisy Fridays. Food did not have much flair. Steak was overcooked. Appetizers were over cooked. Spinach tasted like dirt. The wait staff was excellent- no complaints there./"

  • "Not the first or last time my family and I have dined there while in Chicago. Just a great place to eat and drink. Service was great on a busy 4th of July Weekend. Shout out to Mike!"

  • "We celebrated our oldest daughter's 22nd Birthday. During the reservation process I mentioned we would be celebrating her birthday and they certainly made her feel special. Our waiter, Neil, made sure to address her special day and provided her with a free dessert of her choice. Thanks goodness no singing or announcements to the entire restaurant. Needless to say the food and service was wonderful. The restaurant is wonderfully filled with that grill smell."

  • "Reserved table for 6:30pm for 6 people. Have young children and didn't want to wait. Still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Service was good. Waiter was friendly and accomodating - really focused on the childrent which doesn't always happen with 4 kids under 10 years old. Food was okay. Ordered artichoke and spinach dip which was pretty tasteless, and a very mild ceasar salad. Kids meals were good. Ribs are very smoked - good quality but if you aren't used to such a smoky taste like my children...I would take a pass. Family friendly...lots of big groups with kids and really close to Magnificent Mile and many hotels."

  • "I left my sunglasses at Weber & when I called to see if they were there the lady got very deffensive & said that they are not there and that her staff don't steal and that a guest took them. She was too busy deffending the staff that she was not helping me get a solution. These were a $200 pair of sunglasses that I don't think I am going to get back. If you accidently leave something at a restraunt you should expect that they will hold it for you or at least assist you. When I gave my number & asked her to call me if they show up she said I must call back in a couple of days, so why did I give my number, she was clearly not prepared to help me at all. And no a guest couldn't of taken them because as soon as I got up they cleaned my table."

  • "I find it appalling that I couldn't order my steak the way I would like it or so I was told by my server. When I asked for a well done/very well done steak and it came pink, I was told, "It's smoked for 12 hours so it should be done enough." The broccoli we were served was stone cold. My kids didn't get to eat a vegetable with their food. Overall, I was very disappointed with my first visit, food, & experience. Total waste of money. I will say that reservations through OpenTable will cut down on wait times tremendously. That's about the only positive thing I can say about this place. Oh, the bread was good, too."

  • "We made a 6:45 p.m. reservation through Open Table and arrived at the Weber Grill early with two small children (6:20 p.m.). We mentioned to the hostess that we were early and if possible we would like a first available table instead, but for the next 35 minutes we sat waiting and watching other families coming in without reservations and being seated after about 5-10 minutes. We approached the hostess and she said that because we had made a 6:45 p.m. reservation, that she could not seat us until the first available seats after our reservation time. Huh? If that is the policy and you arrive early, then I would recommend you cancel your reservation as soon as you arrive. Other than that issue, the food was good and our waitress was great."

  • "Delicious meat dishes, prepared over charcoal grills, served hot and perfectly seasoned. Pairing that with attentive service left us noroom for complaints on our part. Didn't try desserts, no room left for them!"

  • "This is my third time there on business and this time I brought my colleagues. We are returning in July as it is a wonderful fun meal"

  • "We had a good experience there, menu had lots of good selections, took opportunity to try 3 different BBQ on the plate, all good just seemed to be all one note though, seemed all heavy on the BBQ sauce. but the sides were excellent, the seasonal kabob of veggies was great and loved the pretzels rolls with the flavored butter. All the proteins at the table were cooked very well and the chicken had the signature pink smoke ring, which is what makes BBQ BBQ. Would definitely go again, try some other stuff on the menu. Wine selection was surprising good, great for 1/2 bottles and by the glass."

  • "I've been visiting Chicago about once a year for over a decade, and yesterday was the first time I went to the Weber Grill. The oversized grill protruding from the building seemed kitsch and made me think the restaurant was just a tourist trap. Most of the diners are probably from out of town, but the food is surprisingly good. I recommend a burger with the kettle chips (not fries). The prices are very reasonable considering the area."

  • "The steaks are the best ever. Service great and prices are very good for the quality and quantity."

  • "We had a great meal for our weekend trip to Chicago. Everyone enjoyed their selections, even my 7-year-old nephew. :-) We were seated along the kitchen, which offered us terrific views of the giant Weber grills and yummy smells, but it was also quite noisy and bustling. It didn't bother us, but might bother some. We had a great time!"

  • "Very good food and service, honored reservation though they were quite busy. Got misled by what was on the website indicating "validated parking", not for me, cost a small fortune to get my car back. Complained to manager Melissa who handled this very professionally and appropriately by sending me a gift card."

  • "We showed up on time for the reservation, but it was another 15 minutes before they seated us. The area in front of the bar/hostess area was packed and not very comfortable to wait around at. When we were seated, we were all the way in the way, way back. This was not such a bad thing since we noticed while walking through the front area, it was both very hot and very loud. Sadly, we were put in the way back where there was a table of children and a crying baby. The accompanying table could have been a lot worse, but it was not what we were looking for, for dinner. The food was good, but it did not blow us away and the seating arrangements made it so we rushed through dinner and then left. We don't plan on going back any time too soon"

  • "Requested an outside booth on the patio. Was given a pager. The hostess said it would be 20 minutes or so. 35 minutes later I went up to the hostess and asked when she thought the booth would be available. She sighed and said just seated someone at my booth.. she was sorry she forgot that we were waiting for a booth. She didn't know when another booth would open up. I asked to see the manager..but she didn't come. I became upset. Then the hostess had my party of 3 seated in an outside booth which was not being used so no other customers were dining in our section which was very removed from everyone. Food was great."

  • "We will be revisiting Weber Grill next time we're in Chicago. The food was amazing. They have plenty to choose from, and they are even very kid friendly (which didn't seem to be the case at most the restaurants we ate at in Chicago). I loved my whole experience, the waiter was nice & very attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant as well. Wish we could have just eaten there the whole time, since we didn't have great food experiences for the most part during our stay."

  • "Visited Webers for my birthday and was very disappointed. Table was greasy, few wine glasses had lip-stick stains on them, food was below average. Me and wife ordered chimichurri flank steak, it had zero flavor. Asked waiter to bring some more sauce on the side, he did but it did not do the trick, sauce was totally Missing garlic and had no flavor. By time waiter came back to check if sauce helped, i was done with meal only because I was very hungry. Wife didnt finish hers either. Afterwards, manager came by and said it was New item on the menu, I guess I was in a role of test bunny. Pretty disappointed because I was suggested that food was good. Wonder if their burgers are better..."

  • "I go to Weber Grill on every trip I make to Chicago. The food on this trip was excellent, as always. Unfortunately, the service was less than stellar. The Weber Grill has a very nice craft beer list. Unfortunately, my waiter knew nothing about it. He left to speak to the bartender each time I asked a question about any beers. Needless to say, I stopped asking after the first couple of times this happened. Service was rather slow as well. No one checked on us until well after our meal was served, and my wife and I both were waiting for drink refills. The food is definitely worth rolling the dice on the service. If you have a choice, you may wish to avoid peak hours."

  • "I asked for a booth and the person that sat us told us there was nothing available and they were for people who made reservations. I told this person I made a reservation and still did not get a booth. The area was kind of noisy. There also was no additional charge for sharing a dinner, that is a plus!"

  • "The great thing about Weber Grill is no hassling with a grill to cook. You sit, relax, and some delivers perfectly cooked grilled meat to you. Jimena was a wonderful server, and kept tabs on us without hovering. Limoncello sangria was a great drink to sip as we waited for the rainstorm to pass - make sure you try it. Next time I think I will skip apps and try dessert instead - they look divine. I will definitely be back."

  • "We had reservations at 8:15 for a party of six. It was about 8:35 before they seated us. And that was only after I pressed the issue with the hostess. The service was slow. It took about an hour to get our food. The food was good but not great. Definitely not worth the price. It was Fridays quality food."
