Weber Grill - ChicagoLoud-Crowded-Good FoodOur group really enjoyed the food at Weber Grill - they are known for their steaks, and they did a great job on a lot of them at our table. Our team would definitely come back. However, we were placed in a spot right by the front door and in a room with another large party. The front door was loud with people trying to come in/eat (and it's also the bar area where people were enjoying happy hour). The room we were in was loud with another party that didn't seem to notice they weren't the only party in the room. The flavor, consistency and food quality have always been on par with my first visit.

The waiter was very helpful in choosing what we wanted to eat since it was our first time there. The food is to die for. I would recommend the the Weber Sampler Platter, it gives a little bit of everything so the dinner choice is a lot simpler. Dinner was just as good. Food came out hot with little wait time at all. Desert is the little gem though. Make sure you leave enough room and try the Double Chocolate Bundt Cake! I was nicely surprised at the quality of the food and a menu that didn't overwhelm the eyes. Bruschetta was excellent, dessert trio was perfect for our 4 adults. We enjoyed all our appetizers and entrees - too full to try desserts - but I had the best beef briscuit since I left Texas! It was flavorful, melted in my mouth and loved the sauce and sides. The service was excellent - the there was a mixup on one of our orders but they quickly fixed it. And considering the price of steakhouses in Chicago this is a great value. Ambiance was ok - it's a loud party atmosphere and great if you have kids and don't want to worry about anyone else hearing them. But too loud for a romantic evening or first date. I had to yell across a round table to carry on a conversation. Original reservation was for 6 but they easily and comfortably modified it to fit 8. The servers were great. We had Gretchen as the our "experienced" server and one under training. So for our girls night out that is where we headed. We decided to make a reservation - which everyone should do - and it helped keep our wait down to ten mins. instead of 45. The food was amazing, it is a little on the pricey side but well worth every cent you spend. The portions are outstanding that you will not walk away hungry. They have amazing pretzel rolls that are addicting. The wait staff was very friendly and open to any questions or changes that we had. Cooking with charcoal is quickly becoming a lost art and it's a shame because the charcoal adds a level of flavor that you cannot otherwise get. Eating at the Weber Grill always reminds me of the numerous summer cook-outs in my parents’ back yard. These cook-out marked the holidays and special occasions. My father would send me and my brother to collect twigs to aid in starting the fire. As the charcoal lit and came to the appropriate temperature, he would commence to cook chicken and ribs and steak as though he was expecting famine. That was a wonderful time in my life. My family is from Cleveland, and we first had an impromptu dinner at Weber Grill about five years ago when my sons were in college in Chicago. The lasting impression caused me to check their first for Easter dinner when we decided to spend Easter with our sons in Chicago. Our server was attentive and personable.
