Diner Reviews
  • "Was looking for something fairly close (20 minute walk) to our hotel with a varied menu and we found it. It was a little noisy, but there was a birthday celebration in progress when we got there. Had the fish and chips which were amazing. Will go back next time I'm in Chicago and have the fish and chips again."

  • "We thought that it would be super packed, but to our surprise, it was almost completely empty on a Saturday morning. The service was great. Thanks!"

  • "We caught it on an off night. After waiting 45 minutes for food, we left. We were going to Northerly Island for a concert and couldn't wait any longer. The restaurant didn't charge us for drinks and dinner salads which was nice. They said that two cooks hadn't shown for work. The noise level was also too much for a conversation."

  • "Despite the reservations I had made and the mostly empty restaurant, the Weather Mark was very understaffed. It took over an hour to get our food, most of which consisted of basic egg entrees. Our group never got refills on water or coffee. This was after the waitress came back to our table to reassure us that fresh coffee was being made. After nearly an hour of waiting, one of the men in our group went to ask if there was a reason for the delay and was snapped at by the waitress. If this had been the first time the Weather Mark had not turned out well, I would give it a pass as an off day. However, we have received poor service there on more than one occasion. I'd say more but I'm running out of characters. I won't be going back."

  • "...they had $5 bloody Mary's and screw drivers (both very good) and draft beer specials, so that was a nice surprise. Food was pretty good (breakfast and lunch) and very reasonably priced. Service was good as well. It was Mother's Day but there was hardly anyone there, so the atmosphere wasn't very vibrant. "

  • "If you're looking for a uniquely themed, local spot with a fun atmostphere, this is your place! The food is average to above average for a casual bar and the menu isn't super creative, but the menu is big enough and has enough variety that everyone can find at least a few items that will intrigue them. Satisfying place to go before walking down 18th St to head to Soldier Field!"

  • "This is definitely more of a bar setting than a restaurant. Food was very good and more than just bar food. The noise level was high, multiple tv with sports events, and a trivia host. Service was good. Our group enjoyed our meal."

  • "Food, service and location are great! Enjoyed the thin-crust pizza, and the ribs were excellent as well."

  • "It was a great meeting place for out of town friends. No one had to worry about dress and it had the potential to be romantic (on another occasion) with the sails providing a semblance of privacy. I would come back with friends."

  • "This was our first visit to Weather Mark. We were one of maybe 5 people in the entire restaurant. The waitress was nice enough but seemed to not have heard our requests so we had to keep repeating things. The chef came out to ask about our meal and he was nice enough but the meal was just so-so."

  • "This is a local watering hole that serves some good bar food. So if that is what you want, I'd recommend it."

  • "The food was tasty and consistent. We took our kids and everyone loved it. I will be coming back."

  • "The food was good but they were out of the beers and wines that we wanted, and the server couldn't make recommendations about alternatives. But getting lunch at the convention center is pretty limited, this is close by, and so it's fairly convenient. Plus they had a fairly light lunch crowd so it was good to have a lunch meeting where it was easy to talk and hear."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to me by a co-worker. I was surprised when we received our food. It was average at best. The buffalo shrimp were limp and had too much sauce. The buffalo wings were also limp and had too much sauce. I would not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Kind of like a nautical themed, Lincoln Park sports bar. Large menu with some interesting offerings. All the usual beers with a few craft brews thrown in. A variety of seating types from high tops, to couches, to the bar stools, etc. Friendly enough and a way to pass the time if you're in the area but nothing to go out of the way for."

  • "It is a reliably good place. We always feel at home. They are known for the wings, but get the burgers or the ribs. The skewers are good, too."

  • "Filet with Mashed Potatoe Spring Rolls & Asparagus was amazing! Ahi Tuna sandwich was cooked perfectly rare & had a great spice. Corn dogs were flaky & savoury & the salad was delish!"

  • "Found this place last minute for New Years Day brunch and to.celebrate a birthday. The place wasn't exactly hip or upbeat. However, our waitress took very good care of us and the food was surprisingly good!!! It's def a neighborhood gem. All 5 of us loved the food and agreed the waitress was great! Will def go back for the wings, sweet patato fries, and meat and veggie skewers and attentive service!"

  • "This is a great neighborhood hot spot. The food was outstanding while the menu offered numerous options to please all. We enjoyed the nautical theme, which was just enough for a fun atmosphere and not overdone. Based on the activity in the place, this would be an excellent choice to come for a full meal, some bar bites with friends, or simply drinks. One cannot go wrong with the sausage stuffed mushrooms in cheese fondue with dipping bread! The cocktail list also looks quite tasty."

  • "We were a party of 6 having lunch that day. 3 of the 6 ordered the iced tea and it had a strange taste, almost sour (like it was spoiled). 5 of the 6 ordered the friday fish fry,it was food was good but we had to wait a long time for additional fish to come out of the kitchen even though the restaurant was empty."

  • "A group from our Sorority met for dinner, we had not seen each other in a while. We were received royally, the server was attentive and patient with out short attention spans and helped to make our gathering the great time it was, 1/2 off appetizers Thursday was a bonus we ordered 3 and still had entree's. We participated in the group trivia game which was fun ( give the mc a mic) we faired pretty well but left before the end I have recommended Thursday to friends already! I had Hummus, yummy one of the ladies in my party had a shrimp po boy she said it was good, and the others cleaned their plates as well I had the Nicoise Salad it was very good I will have that again when I return! LOVED the atomosphere and the staff!"

  • "My friends and I went there last Friday for fry since it was Lent. All TVs were showing March Madness games with one showing the Bulls game. Aside from the big screen, the other TVs are way too small to be able to see. Now, I understand it's March Madness and all but at least have the Chicago Pro games on at least one TV. The Blackhawks were on at the same time and that game was not on any TV. 4 out of 5 us ordered the fish and about 45 mins later we finally got it while watching people who walked in after us get served the fish first. then the food was only warm not hot like you would expect something fried to be! Oh and we were the only Asians in the place, just saying... Next was the food, four out of five of us o"

  • "Second time at the Weather Mark Tavern for their all you can eat fish fry. Our waitress was extremely enthusiastic and attentive. I would recommend going back. Their beer list is also notable. The Owner walked around to tables and made sure everything was going well too, which was a nice touch. Attentive, but not pushy."

  • "I loved the fact that we were seated in an area requested via Open Table.I did NOT enjoy the food. My daughter and I did the "all you can eat fish fry." The photo of the fish was very appetizing and delicious looking, but the taste disappointing. The slaw was most delicious, however the fish was greasy and NOT seasoned(the batter) at all. Also, when it was time for more they were extremely slow with the service."
