We knew the Watersedge would have a nice view but we were pleasantly surprised by the food and the professionalism of the staff. a few of us had the prifix lunch and it was a great value. The main restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Friday afternoon. It looks like a great place for happy hour on he beautiful deck overlooking the city.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprisingly pleasant experienceI booked Water's Edge for my daughter's 18th birthday for the water view, despite some negative comments about the food from other Open Table reviewers. We had a very nice dinner - the (expensive) cold seafood appetizer was tasty and visually impressive, and our main courses (scallops, sea bass, and steak) were all very good/excellent, even if the steak was not quite up to prime steakhouse fare. The wine list was extensive and impressive - I found a delightful '95 bordeaux at a fair price for the vintage. I think we were wise not to order surf & turf (subject to complaints by others - I've found most restaurants skimp on the quality for such an entree). Would have been perfect if the windows were clean. The service was very good and the food was plated beautifully and tasted great. The menu is on the slim side, but still adequate for a picky eater. Service was fantastic and servers are very attentive and knowledgeble. My husband's steak was a little undercook but the taste was great and everything else we ordered was phenomenal. It was so romantic and quiet. The view was Spectacular. The waiters were on point. The food was Delicious. However, I do recommend before going to water edge you eat a little because the portions here are very little. The only con with waters edge, after we paid for our meal and was walking toward our Vehicle the manager ran outside with our bill just to tell us we did not leave a tip. Here's the thing guys, it was our 3rd anniversary, we first went on a hot air ballon ride in jersey, paid over $800.00, and paid for tows. After that we really had no money left. The food is very good, clearly structured without straining after effect. The service is absolut perfect and very friendly. The ambiance is a bit frumpy, but that is not important, because of the great view. Water's Edge was perfect! An excellent choice! The food was great. It was not an extensive menu, but enough to choose from. Very nice wine list and specialty desserts with after-dinner drinks. We got there in time for sun-down and it was amazing view! Delicious spinach salad, followed by chicken, fingerling potatoes over spinach and creme brulee (over cooked or stale). The food was excellent, and you cannot beat sitting by the window and taking in the beauty of the river and Manhattan skyline. We also like the fact that you don't have to shout at each other, or listen to others' conversations. The sound level is just right for a romantic evening.
