  • "Everything you could possibly want to eat at a brunch!"

  • "the strip steak was very good and the mussels were as well. We ate outside and enjoyed the wonderful view. Unfortunately, our waitress was disinterested in doing her job and unattentive until the bill came and she suddenly became our best friend."

  • "We had a delicious dinner and dessert. The place is beautiful....definitely walk the grounds at night."

  • "The food was cold and the variety wasn t like it was in the past. The waitress didn't come around often. We had to ask another waiter to process our bill."

  • "Hoping for a new dinner with a few friends for the evening. The views were beautiful but the service was horrendous. All the wait staff made it very obvious they were stressed and there seemed to be something going on. Every time out waiter said he would be right back it was around a 20-25 minute wait. Food was decent but not anything special, there are much better options around the area. Will definitely not be returning and I don't advise you to go here if you want a good experience."

  • "Scallops perfectly cooked and quite a lively dish with the seasoned sweet potatoes. Duck with cavatelli and spinach contained some grit perhaps from spinach not being properly cleaned. The halibut was fresh but just a tad too long on the grill. However, it was saved by the delicious vegetables accompanying the fish. Shellfish risotto was almost a home run, but a tad too long before presentation resulted in a drier than preferred performance. Lemon tarts great. Pear tartin crust soggy..a real miss there. Must say salads were right on and oysters superb. Not a very sophisticated wine list for such an upscale restaurant."

  • "This place feels of cutting corners and going downhill. The restroom next to the Buffett had no soap in either dispenser. Waitstaff use this?. The watered-down mimosa had little OJ, little champagne in a glass filled with lots of ice. Buffett food was tepid, health code issues? The service was not good. The waiter constantly stacked our food laden forks and knives on the tablecloth in front of us. I had to use my fork with pork loin for my dessert. I had to look and look for him to get a second cup of coffee. This is a beautiful facility and the desserts are wonderful, but this place needs work. No one asked us about our meal until we were getting up to leave. Where was the supervisor during the meal? "

  • "Food was good (not outstanding). I would not mind going back if in the area, but I wouldn't rush back."

  • "Great evening! We were seated at a table offering a panoramic view of Long Island sound, and the beautiful spring landscaping found only at Water's Edge. The Tuscan Cannellini Bean Potage with Sautéed Kale appetizer - delicious. We ordered sea scallops on a bed of sweet potato puree with bacon and corn butter sauce.. well portioned, perfectly cooked. A special dish, obviously prepared by a gifted chef. Our compliments! The service was friendly, comfortable and timely.. We weren't rushed, but neither did we need to wait, as water, appetizer, main course and coffee were served."

  • "Food was good, but don't try to get your "free wine with two entrées" special in the dining room, or use the chit they give you at check in, or order the special entrée and expect it to count as an entrée, unless you're willing to educate yourself first as to what constitutes the restaurant versus the not-restaurant where they serve the very same menu and what specials apply where. The process takes much of the pleasure out of an expensive meal."

  • "We have been coming here for years. This time was disappointing. Hostesses were rude when they seated us. In addition, our waiter was nowhere to be found throughout the brunch. Looking for another brunch place for the future."

  • "I will have to say that after spending 3 days at the Resort on our Anniversary, we found this the most relaxing and charming place. The food was awesome, the view was breathtaking, and the quiet serenity was the great. It gave us the time to connect without the intrusion of outside. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay the best ever. From the Jon, the restaurant manager, who saw to it that we were seated with a wonderful view of Long Island Sound, to the waitstaff who saw to our every need; the dinners were perfect. I would recommend Water's Edge Resort & Spa to anyone who needs a romantic getaway to reconnect to the one you love. "

  • "Overall brunch at Water's Edge was very nice, the only problem was no one ever approached our table to take a drink order. The servers came by and poured lots of coffee, juice and water but never asked if we'd care for something else. If I had been asked I probably would have ordered a Bloody Mary."

  • "Went to this resort for a night away with a friend and had lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Lunch menu offered a good variety of choices. I had the sweet potato soup, which was excellent, and steamed mussels and clams in broth which was very good. The bread was fresh and warm. My friend had haddock with breadcrumbs, which was nothing special, sweet potato fries which were good and crisp and asparagus. Our dinner was more disappointing. Basically, the entrees were about $8-$10 overpriced for the quality. The food was ok, but just not exceptional. And for what its worth, the menu was full of typos!. Those prices should command an attention to detail that was missing not just in the menu but in the food."

  • "We were lured into the restaurant with a special written in the room. And when we got there was a catch , it was noting the section were seated it. They did not honor the offer. We we're determine to enjoy ourselves, so we ate. The food was over spiced. It was very hard to enjoy I had scallops that were over sweet potatoes, with corn, balsamic, and many other spices. It was much too over spiced. My husband had Weiner schnitzel that he said was good. I also had New England clam chowder that was more like potato and cheese soup. Not bad but not New England clam chowder."

  • "Because of a scheduling mistake on our part, my wife and I partook of the Sunday brunch two weeks in a row. The first time was my first outing at Waters Edge, and I was impressed by both the variety and the quality of the brunch offerings. My favorite brunch foods (fresh fruit, pastries, eggs benedict, shrimp cocktail, roast beef) were delicious. The waiter was very attentive, providing coffee and juices very promptly. We were surprised that alcoholic beverages weren't provided until after 11:00 a.m. The second visit was slightly less impressive, appearing to emphasize pastas and seafood risotto, but was still very good. Desserts on both occasions were good, but not exceptional."

  • "Rather than do well with a few foods, this restaurant does overkill with a ton of food. It isn't about taste, it is about quantity. At first glance (and second and third) the amount of food offered is overwhelming but, in the end, it is still just a buffet. High cost, low quality."

  • "I asked for a nice table for a wedding proposal hours before, and they stuck me in the middle of the room. The tables are crammed in a room and the ambience is terrible. I saw other spots that looked secluded and romantic and they didnt even try to accommodate. In theory, the place should be amazing, it isnt."

  • "At our age, an anniversary dinner and evening out is sometimes too stressful, so we opted for the Sunday Brunch at Water's Edge. The staff was easily able to accommodate our desire for "no stairs, please," and our waiter was cheerful and engaging, but never overstepped or intruded on our experience. The food servers were also quite charming and did all in their power to fulfill requests. The carver split a whole prime rib in half to make sure we received rare slices from the center, the omelet and crepe artists easily accommodated my combinations smiling and chatting all the while. The chafing dishes were filled with marvelous morsels, cold shrimp were cooked perfectly and served with a tasty, tangy cocktail sauce. Loved the desserts!"

  • "Had dinner here on a Saturday night in March. Spent the weekend at the hotel and using the spa as part of a small reunion of girlfriends from college. Food was very good. No specifically-vegetarian entrees (two of us generally stick to vegetarian diets) but we both ordered fish/seafood and were happy with our meals. The service was very good, prices were reasonable for the setting. I had sea bass and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Was in the mood for soup but both options were "heavy" (N.E.clam chowder and crab bisque) so I passed. A healthier/broth-based option would have been nice. Had the lemon tart for dessert and it was also very good. Tart and not especially sweet, which I liked. Would eat here again."

  • "Second time there. Food was hot fresh and delicious. Food was being constantly rotated . Piano player playing softly in the background what a wonderful time Oceanview great visit with friends great food. About $35 a person so it wasn't cheap just don't go every week is definitely worth it to treat yourself. Also a little cramped as they are trying to fill the dining room. Service was a little lacking they could've filled the water and juice glasses more often and we were probably waiting about 20 minutes for the check. Aside from that you're there for the food which was incredible definitely definitely going back again and again."

  • "Great to go on a date, with family, friends or a group of people. The brunch buffet is 9-3 so stay, pace yourself, and eat to your hearts content. I've been going here for brunch since I was little and it's always a treat to bring new comers. Will always make trips to go back."

  • "We drove down from the New Hampshire boarder in Mass. all the way to the Connecticut shoreline to take our daughter to brunch for her birthday. It was worth it! The food was fresh and delicious. The multi-level seating only enhanced the views from window to window! After reading all the posts on trip advisor I was a little apprehensive...it did not disappoint!"

  • "My husband and I spent a lovely weekend away at Water's Edge and were looking forward to a nice dinner. We were not disappointed. Not only was the food delicious, but the waiter was attentive without hovering. There was a gentleman playing the piano, the lighting was soft and the ambiance very quiet. I would say the only negative was that we were sitting right next to the window and it was a little chilly. Next time we will ask for a table in the middle of the room. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!"

  • "Came for a birthday brunch. Quality of food and very limited food choices were quite surprising. We did not have this experience two years ago.. Omelette/crepe prep in the main lobby and tables 2 flights down? Food bland. The caprese salad was melting. No vegetarian option (spinach) for eggs Benedict and the ones in the steamer were dried and cold. Dessert table was almost bare. Totally not worth the price nor representative of a resort quality brunch. We won't be back. The only plus was being able to reserve online and at the last minute."
