When a passing seagull left a "gift" on my husband's shirt, a waiter retrieved a dry napkin along with one soaked in club soda for him to sponge it off - great service!!! Our waiter had a great sense of humor, was very helpful in helping us choose what to order, and gave us efficient service. The mood was great as we sat outside under perfect weather and right at the 'water's edge' so we could see the dolphins playing with the boaters, paddle boarders and canoers. The experience was accentuated by our delightful server, Michael. The food all-around was delectable. We started with the calamari, then I had the stuffed chicken and my wife had the bbq salmon, all of which were beyond delicious. The only thing not quite on par with the excellence was the dessert. My chocolate pecan pie was a bit dry and dull-tasting and wifey's chocolate cake was more ice cream than cake. We were very glad we went. Our server, Daniel, was wonderful, informed and friendly. The food was above average and I can't wait to go again. Looking out at the boats coming and going on Shem Creek while dining just put the cherry on top.

Be aware during happy hour on a weekend the parking is a nightmare. Our party started out as 6 but my brothers surprised us and joined us as we were being seated. The hostess was not happy about moving us to a larger table but our waiter was great and accomodating. The restaurant wasn't very crowded so we didn 't think the hostess should have been upset but she was. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Beautiful view and restaurant I had a ceasar salad which was good and a shrimp cocktail that was excellent. My husband had fish stew that was excellent. Crabcake was excellent. Club sandwich and chicken pasta with veggies were good. Key lime pie and pecan pie were excellent. I am very glad we made an early reservation. When we arrived at 5:45 the parking lot was full because of Happy Hour I assume. We found a spot out of four left in the back of the lot. So being early worked out great. When we left people were jockeying for parking spaces. We had a man follow us from the entrance to the back of the lot trying to beat others for our space. I am Happy we didn't wait later to go. This was my first time at Shem Creek and Water's edge and it won't be the last. Even though the price is around 17-37 $ unless you have the 10$ Cheeseburger you get lots of food for the price.
