WATERS Bonnell’s Coastal Cuisine redefines the Fort Worth seafood scene. WATERS’ menu emphasizes wild, seasonal and, most importantly, sustainable seafood. A raw bar lines the main dining room where patrons can sample a vast selection of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp and crab. Chef Bonnell also offers numerous daily specials based on the freshest wild fish available from waters around the world, delivered directly from fishermen.

WATERS captures Chef Bonnell’s famous Fort Worth Fancy atmosphere in one of the city’s liveliest districts and, while seafood is certainlythe restaurant’s signature, the menu will satisfy every palate with game, beef, and vegetarian options.

  • "The food at this restraunt was spectacular. The Gumbo was the best I have ever had. The dirty rice served with the Drum was absolutely original and delicious. The fish and oysters were incredibly fresh and wonderful. The sauces served with the oysters were very original and delicious. I travel all over and love mac N chees. The Mac N Cheese at Waters was very different and is in our top 5 in the country. Fantastic wine list. I wish they had some Robert Young Estate, Chardonay. That must make me a wine shnob for suggesting. I guess I have my favorites for eating sea food. Can't wait to go back and try the seafood tower. Spectacular place to have dinner."

  • "Waters has a massive menu that spans all sorts of sea food. It all sounds very good but take my advice, stick to the basics. Anything you would order at a pier side restaurant Waters goes above and beyond. Love - The ceviche and calamari for an appetizer and they really were second to none. The ceviche comes in three very unique and delicious varieties while the calamari is classic style. Round two I shared a bowl of gumbo and I would highly recommend it. Lots of flavor, maybe some roasted elements to it. Others at the table had fish filets. very yummy Dislike - Shrimp salad was very boring, shredded lettuce and dressing. Lobster roll could be mistaken for imitation. Say no to salads and sandwiches."

  • "Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Wait staff was great and attentive, knowledgable about the menu. Got there in time for happy hour which was nice and our waitress let us order drinks and appetizer from happy hour menu even though we were not seated in the bar. Ate off the Restaurant Week menu which was very good except for the dessert. A little disappointed in the choice offered - just sorbet or ice cream - and the portion was really small. Also, since I had mentioned my husband's birthday when I made the reservation, I was hoping they would do something special for him. The manager told him happy birthday but that was it. No special dessert or anything."

  • "I saw an ad somewhere about their oysters. They have a sampler platter of six oysters prepared three different ways, amazing!! My husband had the fish trio plate, best ever. I am not a fish eater and it was delicious! I had the braised beef ribs prepared to perfection! The only item I thought was so, so was the gumbo. My favorite gumbo is at the Rajun Cajun in Frisco, Colorado. Waters is great!!"

  • "I wasn't sure what to expect. I love seafood, but seafood restaurants are hit or miss with me. I was really impressed with Waters Bonnells. It had a great selection, without being too pricey. It was still expensive, but not unnecessarily overpriced. We got "The Dirty Dozen" oyster appetizer and they were delicious! My friend had the drum, my brother had the porterhouse and I had a nice salad. Everything was great! I really liked how my chopped salad came out - I was leery since the only chopped salads I had seen were tacky and their version was perfect! Best part, our server was the nicest guy - wish I could remember his name! (they don't wear nametags & I didn't catch it...)"

  • "My wife and I needed to be in Ft Worth (we live in Dallas) and have talked about dinner at Waters, so this was the perfect time to try it out. Everything was spot on. We ran into long-time friends, lucked into Restaurant Week. Although we ordered specials off the RW menu, the portions were large, hot served and cooked properly. We had grilled filet of arctic char and pork spare ribs with scallops. Dont miss out on the gumbo - it spectacular!! Our server was super-attentive without being bothersome, the wine list has great variety and multiple price points. We saw entrees on the regular menu that want to go back and try. Dallas has good restaurants - but we will for sure drive back to Fort Worth for more dinners at Waters."

  • "Went for lunch, and the gumbo is outstanding as well as the lobster roll. My only complaint (if it's even a complaint) is that the portion of french fries to lobster roll was reversed. *But the fries are very good, and they did disappear from my plate."

  • "The presentation of everything was truly beautiful,unfortunately there was nothing notable in regards to the flavors. We ordered the oyster sampler, the I can't decide seafood entry, the porterhouse pork entry and the lemon cheese cake dessert. The best thing we ate the cheesecake. The pork was over cooked and chewy. The "I can't decide"was overly complicated and of the three dishes only one had the fish cooked properly. The atmosphere was lovely and the while our waiter changed throughout our meal the service was good. Wish the food had been better!"

  • "I had one of the daily specials, which seem to rotate frequently. It was a grilled Cobie, on blue grits (both blue corn and blue cheese), and some small tomatoes. It was quite tasty. I'm not an oyster person, but that seems to be their main feature. The biscuits were just OK - a little too hard for my liking. The lobster mac and cheese also wasn't as rich as I prefer. Overall, a really nice place for fish, in a city where it's difficult to find anything that fresh."

  • "This was my second visit to Waters and it was just as good as the first. The seafood changes daily so I tried the red snapper, and it was amazing. My date is not a huge seafood fan but still had a hard time deciding from all the non seafood choices. He went with the pork porterhouse which he loved. We shared the cheesecake for dessert. Everything from food to service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit."

  • "The service was excellent and our waiter, Scott, was very attentive. We started with oysters which were awesome! We also ordered the lump crab which lacked flavor. The entrees were very disappointing. The pork chop came out black and very well done. It was completely dry. We added a "Butter poached lobster tail." It too was way overcooked, rubbery, and had no flavor at all. Scott and the manager quickly offered to make it right. When the entrees were returned the pork chop was slightly better. The lobster had no change. We asked how it was butter poached. They replied that it was steamed in water, butter, and wine which is not butter poached. Service was great, but unfortunately, the entrees didn't meet our expectations."

  • "I accidentally stumbled upon Waters and am glad I did. We called for reservations for six first, then added a friend. We were pleasantly surprised to find they had put us in a private room with a window that opened into the kitchen—the executive chef even opened the window and paid us a visit prior to our meal. Our server expertly explained the concept and managed our meal—except my iced tea glass sat empty much of the time. My only complaint about the food was the size of the shrimp cocktail—four very small shrimp (just like you buy at a grocery store), but a wonderful cocktail sauce. Among us, we had almost every entree on the menu and no one criticized a bite of it from the appetizers to the dessert. It was all excellent.We will be back!"

  • "Chef Jon is one of my favorite people but I find Waters not up to his standard. My meal for 2 with 3 glasses of wine and tip was $180. My Paella was bland and undistinguished. My wife's fish was good but Brussels Sprouts were poorly done. Service was nice but spotty. Will not return."

  • "This was probably my 3rd or 4th visit to the restaurant and as usual I was not disappointed. We started off with the cold seafood sampler which was delicious but the portions are a little small for the price so if that's not an issue for you I would highly reccomend it. We also had the oyster sampler which is a must! All three are awesome! I are the swordfish (a feature that evening) which was to die for! And of course as usual the lobster Mac and cheese is a must!"

  • "Being from the Deep South, I found the Crabcake Eggs Benedict satisfied an intense longing for seafood served as they do in the best restaurants in New Orleans or Charleston. The accompanying Barbecued Pork Belly was a pleasant surprise, though perhaps not what I'd choose as an entree. There was even an updated Bread Pudding for dessert. This is a special occasion restaurant that will likely become my every occasion favorite. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant, a place to take your significant other, as well as anyone else you'd especially like to please. The use of upholstery and softer materials provides a welcome quiet to converse. A private dining room is available that looks great for my club's occasional luncheon."

  • "I took my mother there for here 80th birthday. And I am glad that I did. Every aspect of the meal was outstanding. The signature drinks were top notch. The oysters excellent. And as a side note: the grilled sun shrimp from Florida were some of the best grilled shrimp that I have ever had. And yes, we all have had grilled shrimp, but the freshness and perfect preparation was more than apparent within these. Our waiter Blair was pleasant, knowledgeable and gave well balanced service. We will be returning soon. Jon Bonnell has cast a big net and caught himself a great catch."

We had a variety of oysters, the sheepshead and the ocean trout. It was all delicious. This is quickly becoming a favorite restaurant and happy hour spot of ours!"

  • "I'm sure a lot of people would like this restaurant, but it isn't for us. I ordered the Tasmanian Trout and my wife ordered the shrimp and mussels. The trout was crispy on the out side but raw in the middle, my wife's mussels were undercooked and the shrimp border line being raw. When we asked the server she was prompt in getting the manager who informed us they always under cook unless requested otherwise, we were not told this when we order nor was it on the menu. They did not charge for the meals which were sent back."

  • "The food was wonderful! We had 4 in our party and each got a different special, each person thought their selection was the best choice. Hard to believe that you can get such fresh seafood so far away from the ocean. While the food was exceptional, the service was impeccable. Jennette was the best, with great attention to detail and making sure that all of our special request were met. She also knew the menu and could describe everything without having to refer to notes or other staff."

And is one of them...fresh, shucked very cleanly. Ask for the off menu ones there are several that major surprises and were outstanding. I thank the chef for going the extra lengths to get the very best. The food is yummy, and had a very pleasant experience with the staff. This is on my A list of places to eat."
