A word from Waters Bonnell's Coastal Cuisine
Chef Bonnell 's latest concept to showcase his passion for and love of seafood.

WATERS Bonnell’s Coastal Cuisine redefines the Fort Worth seafood scene. WATERS’ menu emphasizes wild, seasonal and, most importantly, sustainable seafood. A raw bar lines the main dining room where patrons can sample a vast selection of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp and crab. Chef Bonnell also offers numerous daily specials based on the freshest wild fish available from waters around the world, delivered directly from fishermen.

WATERS captures Chef Bonnell’s famous Fort Worth Fancy atmosphere in one of the city’s liveliest districts and, while seafood is certainlythe restaurant’s signature, the menu will satisfy every palate with game, beef, and vegetarian options.

Diner Reviews
  • "My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays and we were treated royally. Lovely weather, so we began with appetizers (shrimp and oysters) and cocktails, outside. We moved in for dinner and had great food and attentive service. The wine recommendation was perfect. The "I can't decide" fish plate was scrumptious. We received complimentary, inscribed, birthday desserts. Thank you, Jon Bonnell and your staff. "

  • "Excellent overall experience. to have dinner for a small group or a couple. Chef Bonnell continues to impress with the quality, presentation and taste of the plates. "

  • "Waters was a pleasant surprise. Scallops were perfectly prepared, tender and sweet. The seafood gumbo was the best outside of New Orleans, maybe even better than inside New Orlleans. Service was 5 star."

  • "If I had to name a favorite place to eat, I have to say Waters! I love love the food and we always get great service!"

  • "The brunch just might be the best around. Quite interesting selections to chose from, but after already having quite a few of them, I know they are all very good. The waitress was very friendly, and did a great job helping me decide between three different meals I was contemplating. I'm sure they were are very good, but based upon my input of what I was looking for, she steered me in the perfect direction. The Bloody Mary's were also fantastic."

  • "First time we dined here and enjoyed everything we ordered. Oyster "Texasfeller" -delicious! Large oysters! Tuna prepared well and Barramundi fish prepared with a Jerk seasoning was also delicious. The Chocolate Ganache tart was a nice way to end the meal! Chocolate Ganache texture was smooth and creamy! Will definitely return!"

  • "Saturday was my second visit to Waters and is now my new favorite restaurant in Fort Worth. Everything about the restaurant is top notch. There was a light lunch crowd as the Main Street Art Festival was in town. My husband and I can't wait to return. Yes, it was that spectacular."

  • "My husband and I recently ate at Waters, and the food was spectacular. We both had fish, and it was so fresh and prepared perfectly. The drink menu was also very good; we had Happy Hour at the bar with a few appetizers; the calimari and the ahi tuna ceviche were awesome. The service was attentive, knowledgeable but not overbearing. It was a fantastic experience all the way around!"

  • "We had a party of eight so were seated in a small room where we had a view of the kitchen. Everyone loved the oysters and all the different kinds that were offered. Also Chef Bonnell checked on us personally a couple of times and that was really special. The Arctic Char was a new favorite fish for some in the group but everything was very good."

  • "I am not a seafood lover at all but was convinced to try Waters by some friends. Had the Flounder Veracruz, it was delicious. You could tell the fish was very fresh. Loved it!"

  • "Excellent food and service. There are so many great items on the menu, you need to go several times to try them all."

  • "Our first time here was for our first wedding anniversary ... of course, the food was unbelievably good - as we expected from this well-known chef, so no disappointments there, even with high expectations. The spectacular service and just-right attentiveness was way more than expected. Everyone (and I mean everyone) was super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and polite without being overly fussy, snobby, pretentious, or over-doing it (all restaurants should be so "on-target". feel free to tap into the waiter's knowledge of the wine list, meal prep and dessert options. If you are looking for THE place for a special meal and be well-cared for (but not bothered by officious intrusions of fussy wait staff)...this is it. Best place ever!"

  • "The food was wonderful. The fish was tender, full of flavor, and seasoned perfectly. The service was outstanding, with the host calling me by name, followed by our server. My guest is a gourmet cook and she was delighted with her flounder selection. I had the fish trio, enabling me to sample three entrees, each of which came with different vegetables. My fave was the squash, which was delicately seasoned with garlic and I don't know what else! The restaurant is expensive, but worth it to have seafood that wasn't frozen. I also liked that the restaurant only uses sustainable seafood. I intend to return to try out their oysters!"

  • "Appetizers and entrees all very good. House salad very good, Ceasar a little sour. Gumbo very good. Dirty rice was not too good. Service excellent. Pricey, but worth it."

  • "I expected a restaurant with the same ambiance and style of Bonnell's, Coastal Cuisine just didn't meet those expectations . It reminded me of the lower end restaurants in downtown. The food was good and the service very good. Thank you for that."

  • "This was our first visit to Waters, and it was fantastic. We started with the trio of oysters, excellent. Then I had the halibut, and my husband had the redfish. Both were some of the best fish we had ever eaten, certainly the best in Fort Worth. The service was excellent too. We will definitely return."

  • "From the warm reception to oysters, oysters and oysters - an amazing dinner an amazing wait staff we had an incredible birthday dinner for my bride. All I will say - one of the best dining experience. Especially for this New Yorker who misses great seafood."

  • "This is a first class friendly operation. Could not ask for more. Food was well prepared, plated and served. Waitresses were delightdf, helpful and professional I wish I could afford to eat there every day."

  • "Our group of six ate outside on March 11, 2014. The arctic char was well prepared and they easily substituted vegetables for the starch that was included on the menu. All in the group were pleased with their food. The waitress, Abby, was excellent, good service and very personable. The best we have had in years. The only weak spot on the menu was the beer list. That may have more to do with the lack of quality small brewerys in North Texas than the restaurant it self. But come on, import some good brews from Stone, Founders or New Holland."

  • "Its funny I say it was great. I ordered amberjack, which is a dry white fish, but which was saved by the excellent sauce. The oysters were great as aps, and the salad very nice. Waiter was very considerate, no rush. Bread pudding great for desert. Wife had the char, which was grilled, very nice. Large Texas portions, in addition to great flavors."

  • "Waters is a seafood find. Incredible seafood dishes with unique, vibrant flavors. Attentive and very knowledgeable waitstaff. Full bar and fairly deep wine list, with some very good wine choices. Restaurant is beautiful and modern and very comfortable. Great for dinner or late night romantic spot. Also a good lunch location."

  • "Couldn't say enough nice things about the entire staff and the food. We started off with drinks outside, it was chilly so moved inside to a lovely table. So consequently ended up with two servers and could not say enough nice things about either one of them. They were courteous, funny, helpful and we never wanted for a thing-- It was there without asking. So KIND and ATTENTIVE. They were very helpful with menu selections and recommendations. The food was EXCELLENT. Very clean, sleek and unique atmosphere. We were there for Lunch on Sunday it was excellent. Actually every entrée sounded so delicious was hard to select. Will have to go back and try them all."

  • "This was a reservation for our 30th wedding anniversary. Hostess found our reservation and told us we had the table for the evening. Our waiter seemed more interested in what was going on around her than in us, and we felt rushed. It's one thing to be attentive but quite another to be made to feel like you are being "moved along". The most disappointing thing to me is there was no mention of our Anniversary, by anyone. It's not essential but it makes you feel just that little bit special to have it mentioned. Food was good...above run of the mill fare but below what I would expect from this establishment, price, and hyped up reviews. It was prepared well and nicely presented. The experience is definitely not what I call romantic dining."

  • "Waters was everything you could ask for from a fine restaurant! The menu has a great variety, and the waitress was very helpful with all of our questions. The surf and turf for two was remarkably good, and the sopapillas for dessert were great too! Would definitely go back sometime on a special occasion, but far too pricy to go often!"

  • "food and service was fantastic but the groups around our table were noisey!"

  • "Girlfriend had the filet, I stole a bite and it absolutely melted in my mouth. I had the atlantic amberjack, perfectly cooked, thick cut of great tasting fish. Our server, Blair, was outstanding. Always there a half second before we needed her and never lingered. This outing is on the pricey side but worth every cent and I will not hesitate to return."

  • "Have been to Bonnell's both on Bryant Irving and now Waters location. Have been to Waters for brunch, lunch though this was our first dinner event. The ambiance and people were genuinely great and the table arrangement requested was perfect for our Valentine's outing (Sunday PM). The Wine list was adequate though a little pricey given the labels. Had to ask for bread three times with only one success. We split the fish taco appetizer and both had the 'four course' Chef''s Special. The shrimp is great though the Stripe Bass was somewhat overcooked and 'tough.' All the dishes were unique and interesting for someone wanting a different and unique experience. Still bias to the Bryant Irving location though feel the Waters to be the best uptown."
