A word from Waters Bonnell's Coastal Cuisine
Chef Bonnell 's latest concept to showcase his passion for and love of seafood.

WATERS Bonnell’s Coastal Cuisine redefines the Fort Worth seafood scene. WATERS’ menu emphasizes wild, seasonal and, most importantly, sustainable seafood. A raw bar lines the main dining room where patrons can sample a vast selection of fresh oysters, clams, shrimp and crab. Chef Bonnell also offers numerous daily specials based on the freshest wild fish available from waters around the world, delivered directly from fishermen.

WATERS captures Chef Bonnell’s famous Fort Worth Fancy atmosphere in one of the city’s liveliest districts and, while seafood is certainlythe restaurant’s signature, the menu will satisfy every palate with game, beef, and vegetarian options.

We arrived at 9:30 pm on a saturday and the kitchen had closed 15 minutes before. Nevertheless the owner told us to have a seat and would be happy to serve us dinner. As always the service by our waitress was outstanding and the food by chef Bonnell excellent.

Very disappointed in the food! Over cooked fish and poorly seasoned. However, they have a fun and good selection of oysters! That is the only thing I would go back for. Way too overpriced.

This was our first time at Waters. We love Bonnell's, on Bryant Irvin, so this was a painful experience. Who is in the kitchen at Waters? Our cheesy biscuits, hard as rocks; crostini served with delicious smoked trout pate, burned to the point of smelling. The soup of the day, corn and jalapeno chowder, and chopped salad were delicious. Creole prepared char was tasty, but dry, served with haricots verde, undercooked and inedible. A new fish with which I was unfamiliar, "the chef's favorite" according to the wait staff, was hard, dry and tasteless. At the price point, we were sorely disappointed. We wanted to find Waters to be an excellent seafood restaurant. Chef Jon, please check on your kitchen, it is just not up to your standards.

By far one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Worth. The menu has a great mix of choices and everything is fantastic. The wine list is also very thoughtful and good. The service is professional and the atmosphere is very pleasant. This is hands down one of my favorite places to go in Fort Worth.

We went to Waters for our anniversary expecting a wonderful evening. To start, we shared oysters on the half shell; great; the only reason for two stars instead of one. Our fish entrees were very disappointing, not at all what you would expect at the price. Especially disastrous was the Artic Char with zucchini and yellow squash ribbons, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and capers served with a beurre blanc sauce. I don't know what the sauce was, but it had none of the shallots, vinegar/lemon juice, or butter taste that it is supposed to; virtually tasteless and a terrible texture (similar to one thickened with artificial thickeners); only a few capers. The tomatoes (plural)? Exactly 2! Many other food and service misteps. We won't be back.

We chose this restaurant for our 19th wedding anniversary celebration, and it did not disappoint. We had a lovely, leisurely dinner and our server took very good care of us. We also had a manager stop by our table to check on us. We split a calamari appetizer, which was better than the standard that you get a most seafood restaurants. We both had salads as well, mine the house and his the ceasar. Both were great. For entrees, I chose a scallops special with three presentations, and my husband had a trout special. Delicious! The server was also able to give us great wine recommendations and offered us a complimentary dessert (we chose a dark chocolate tart, rich and very tasty). I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The selection of oysters was obviously unlike any other in the area however the raw oysters and the grilled oysters were full of grit. That will happen occassionally but 16 out of 24 ruins an appetite. Our fried oysters and Texafeller Oysters were delicious. Every pack of crackers we opened was stale and the biscuits were hard and dry. We left without ordering dinner.

Bonnell hits it out of the park yet again. His steak restaurant off 20 is already fantastic, and this restaurant is just as fantastic. This was our first time visiting Waters. We were on a double date type of environment with my husband's best friend and his wife. We could hear each other without yelling. The drinks were awesome. The food came quickly enough without being "too quick" such as pre-made. The atmosphere was perfect for a date or friends having dinner together. The location is spectacular as well. Right off of 7th street makes it easy to go bar hopping afterwards as well. You won't be disappointed in any way, shape, or form by visiting Waters.

Great place to celebrate a anniversary! Waters Bonnell's Restaurant, in Fort Worth, made this celebration dinner out very memorable. Upon arrival we were seated immediately in the spotlessly clean dining room. Josh was our server, his polite demeanor and knowledge of Bonnell's menu selection was relaxing and helpful. The presentation, from appetizer through dessert, was beautiful and the preparation of or selection was excellent. To top off our dinning Bonnell's presented us with a beautifully prepared "Happy Anniversary" dessert, compliments of Bonnell's. We highly recommend Waters Bonnel's for any occasssiion. Thanks to the entire staff for all of their attentiveness that made this a super evening.

Bonnells Waters provides a nice change for those who want something more than steak. They offer well prepared fresh fish and oysters in a beautiful, well-designed restaurant that has an emphasis on service. The wine list is excellent and the servers are trained and can describe the wines in order to help with selection. My husband loves the ceviche trio and we both enjoy the grilled fish entrees. Everything is very fresh and prepared in a manner that enhances the flavors. The décor is very artistic and the layout is well planned so that you are not bunched together with the other diners. The bar and the oyster bar are interesting and lively. The staff is accommodating. It makes for a very enjoyable evening.

I'm sorry but I must write a mixed review about Waters. I've always enjoyed Bonnell's first restaurant which gave me high hopes for my first time at Waters. The room is gorgeous and the staff caring. The food was the problem last Wednesday. I started with a Caesar salad and lump crab. The lettuce was wilted, and the promised edgy salad dressing was bland. Next came Oysters Texasfeller. The dish arrived and the oysters were almost cold. I sent it back. It came back luke warm but still not hoe. Some of the tasso was inedible because they were rock hard. My wife had the small seafood tower. The lobster salad had one piece of lobster, the rest potatoes. She returned it and received more lobster the next time. The cooking needs work.

The food was fabulous. The seafood tower was served at the table next to us & it looked great! Our table had the calamari which was good & prepared 2 ways, the steak part was strips breaded with what tasted like cornmeal, and smaller pieces were crunchy and melted in your mouth. I had the drum fish with a light blackening served with their version of dirty rice, both good. The gumbo was a bit salty but good. The pineapple sorbet was not too sweet and good. We waited a bit long for our bottles of wine probably because the wine room was so big and in the middle of the restaurant. Overall an excellent dinning experience.

From the moment I pulled on the tentacle door handle to go in, I knew this would be a special place. The gumbo and drum I ate for lunch elevated and colored both words for me! The gumbo was subtle in a way that made me savor every delicious spoonful. I am almost embarrassed to say that the drum was the best prepared and tasting fish I've ever had! Drum? Really? Yes, really! I will go here tonight with friends and again and again because it is simply an outstanding meal and experience.

The food at this restraunt was spectacular. The Gumbo was the best I have ever had. The dirty rice served with the Drum was absolutely original and delicious. The fish and oysters were incredibly fresh and wonderful. The sauces served with the oysters were very original and delicious. I travel all over and love mac N chees. The Mac N Cheese at Waters was very different and is in our top 5 in the country. Fantastic wine list. I wish they had some Robert Young Estate, Chardonay. That must make me a wine shnob for suggesting. I guess I have my favorites for eating sea food. Can't wait to go back and try the seafood tower. Spectacular place to have dinner.

Waters has a massive menu that spans all sorts of sea food. It all sounds very good but take my advice, stick to the basics. Anything you would order at a pier side restaurant Waters goes above and beyond. Love - The ceviche and calamari for an appetizer and they really were second to none. The ceviche comes in three very unique and delicious varieties while the calamari is classic style. Round two I shared a bowl of gumbo and I would highly recommend it. Lots of flavor, maybe some roasted elements to it. Others at the table had fish filets. very yummy Dislike - Shrimp salad was very boring, shredded lettuce and dressing. Lobster roll could be mistaken for imitation. Say no to salads and sandwiches.

Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Wait staff was great and attentive, knowledgable about the menu. Got there in time for happy hour which was nice and our waitress let us order drinks and appetizer from happy hour menu even though we were not seated in the bar. Ate off the Restaurant Week menu which was very good except for the dessert. A little disappointed in the choice offered - just sorbet or ice cream - and the portion was really small. Also, since I had mentioned my husband's birthday when I made the reservation, I was hoping they would do something special for him. The manager told him happy birthday but that was it. No special dessert or anything.

I saw an ad somewhere about their oysters. They have a sampler platter of six oysters prepared three different ways, amazing!! My husband had the fish trio plate, best ever. I am not a fish eater and it was delicious! I had the braised beef ribs prepared to perfection! The only item I thought was so, so was the gumbo. My favorite gumbo is at the Rajun Cajun in Frisco, Colorado. Waters is great!!
