  • "We enjoyed our meal at Watermark this weekend. I had the duck confit appetizer and my husband had the crawfish cakes. They were both very good. Then we split the trout , also very good. They had a delicious bread basket with homemade biscuits. The room is a clean and modern but was cold, the lighting and artwork made the industrial space feel warm. The Gulch area where Watermark is located is a nice neighborhood to visit. Enjoy!"

  • "We have been dining here for 6 years. This was unquestionably one of the best meals EVER! From the asparagus salad to the sweet potato pound cake - it was exceptional. Kudos to the chef! Chicken livers were perfection, cobia was moist, tender and favorful with the most delicious risotto ever (italy included). Lamb was more done than normal and taught me a lesson - it had more flavor than any lamb I've had in years. Scallops were another WOW dish...seasoning, taste, texture and presentation. We were worried about the last chef leaving...well, we aren't worried any longer. We will be back very soon."

  • "Had a reservation, arrived a bit late, but no problem...seated immediately. Our waiter greeted us promptly, was well versed on the menu, and polite, friendly, and attentive through out our meal. (It was my date's birthday, and he brought us both complimentary glasses of champagne). We split a crab cake appetizer which was excellent. My date next had the cobia which she described as excellent. I have to describe my filet of beef as very good, but not great. I ordered it medium...it was more like medium-well, without the pink center I had requested. The appetizer and mains were both served promptly, but we were not rushed. They both were nice and hot. The high point may have been the butterscotch dessert, which was absolutely divine."

  • "The staff was very nice about acknowledging my birthday and sending over complimentary wine. I wish I'd had a better food recommendation as I found the Pork to not be in the "fine-dining" category, but my boyfriend's scallops were delicious. Also, the inside of my souffle was cold and I'm used to something different, but perhaps that was the chef's style. We were also the only table without a bread basket! Other than that, very friendly staff and it was too cold for the patio but once it's warmer, it would be a perfect patio with a nice view and ambiance."

  • "Watermark appears to be on the way down quality wise as both the quality of service and food preparation dropped since my last visit. the meal seemed rushed with plates being removed before their time and the entrees were not well coordinated with the sides (despite 2x requests). The soup was not served at the appropriate temp and the desert was flat. it will likely be a while before i find myself there again"

  • "Our party of four enjoyed a couple of appetizers followed by entrees of scallops, tilefish x 2 and trout. Some of the preparations are very rich but all were high quality. For instance I didn't touch the sauce for the trout which contained cream and butter (requested it served on side). If you're completely open to any prep that won't be a problem. Service was extraordinary. One dessert of three gelato flavors was wonderful. Second trip. Recommend."

  • "Not very impressed with the Watermark. They seat you so close to other couples that it is impossible to have any private conversation. The short rib starter was cold. The entree wasn't very impressive at all . I expected much more based on the caliber of restaurant this is. Very expensive for what you get, and I felt kind of taken advantage of. The only refreshing part of the meal was the wait staff, they were very prisons, efficient and personable."

The atmosphere was very nice, low lighting, not very loud. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved everything I got from the crab bisque to the lamb chops. This place does stretch the wallet but completely worth it for a delicious dining experience."

Their offerings bring the best of southern flavor (seasoning and ingredients) leaving behind the worst (fried this-and lard drenched that) and merge it seamlessly into light, subtle gourmet delights! The scallops and the hickory smoked asparagus were to die for. Service was outstanding. Decor was urban chic. I will absolutely return when I am back in Nashville!"

Whole the food was delicious and the wait staff was phenomenal, the whole experience was ruined by fire alarms going off the ENTIRE time we are dinner. I'm fairly certain that it was no fault of the restaurant or the staff, it did put a damper on the night. I may go back, and I would recommend you try it. Just an unfortunate event ruined an evening I seldom get to experience."

  • "The waitress was great, the very expensive Duck was tough, had to be sent back due to undercooked, the overpriced 3 scallops were tasty but come on, 30 bucks for 3 scallops, this was my wife and mine , 30 yr wedding anniversary and I wish I had picked a more Romantic spot, the watermark missed its mark here, open seating was like a cafe, Not Happy, will not go back."

  • "Of the nice restaurants I have been to in Nashville, this one is my favorite so far. All of the courses were great and serving sizes were reasonable. They used pickled vegetables in several courses, which was a nice 'something different.' There is a good view of the skyline in the Gulch if you sit near the windows. The only negative I would note is that the space is a little crowded, making it difficult for the servers to pass through the tables gracefully. The atmosphere is friendly and energetic but I wouldn't call it romantic."

  • "Watermark doesn't disappoint. For our first course, I had the potato chowder and ham biscuit; my mom had the fried chicken livers. Thumbs up for both. We both chose the hanger steak, spinach & fries for our second course. The spinach was one of the best sides I've ever had. The green tomato ketchup was perfectly acidic and addictive. For the third course, my mom had the profiteroles and I had the pound cake with gingered pears & citrus creme. The toppings were delicious but the cake was pretty basic. I would choose differently. Mom's profiteroles were yummy although she commented there was more chocolate sauce than necessary. Overall, we were both very pleased with the food and the service from Adam was outstanding. A-."

  • "We recently moved to the Gulch and had heard good things about Watermark. We wanted to have a nice, romantic night out. Ultimately, the night was disappointing. The ambiance and overall mood was pleasant and the decor conservative, but fitting. Unfortunately, our server was not especially knowledgeable about the wine or the food. At times, the staff also seemed generally slow and unattentive. The appetizer was good, but the scallops (main dish) were overcooked and very chewy. What makes this worse is A) I've never had scallops this bad; and B) the server said they were one of the chef's specialties. By the time we finished, we were just ready to leave. For a place with a good reputation, they failed on many accounts."
