The menu changes with the seasons and the chef makes use of locally produced vegetables & fruit when in season. The service can be spotty but for the most part it is good. Outside dining is an option and is great in the spring & fall of the year but can be on the noisy side with the occasional emergency vehicle blasting by. Many people over look the bar on the ground floor which is too bad because it is a very nice place for a drink an conversation. Overall the Watermark experience is very good and a welcome change from the upper end chains like Morton's, Ruth Chris's, Fleming's and the Palm who all have pretty much the same menu items.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AManniversary dinnerWe just spent our 18th anniversary at dinner at Watermark..As usual it was very nice..We would have liked a more private table,however and the noise level needs to be improved..The waiters are always excellent and the food is tops..I do wish the menu

This weekend I took an out of town guest for dinner. We ordered four appetizers and split an entrée. A highlight of Watermark is the suggested wine pairings available with each menu item as well as the choice of 3 oz or 6 oz. pours. So we were able to experience a variety of wines with each dish. Each of the appetizers were creative in content, preparation and delicious...... two standouts were the roasted beets and arugula over a goat cheese mousse and the hickory grilled baby octopus over creamy grits!!!! Our entrée of Red Fish was outstanding! The fish was cooked to perfection but the fresh crawfish, pear tomatoes and basil sauce was amazing! was the coffee, it was bitter & not hot enough. The staff accommodated our every request which started with increasing our reservation from 6 guests to 11 with no worries. A gorgeous night to eat out on the roof top deck and the food was SPECTACULAR! I suggest the hickory wood grilled baby octopus for appetizer then to the grilled lamb. We chose outdoor and it was great! The staff was very attentive and courteous. We had the beet salad for a starter which was wonderful! I had scallops and our daughter had the filet - both were very good. My husband had the other steak on the menu and, while it had a wonderful flavor, was very gristly and chewy. The creme brûlée, of which I am not usually a fan but our daughter ordered one dessert for the table, was amazing! They even wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate. The menu had adequate variety with creative dishes. The service was excellent. We had not been to Watermark in quite some time because the prices had gotten very high (out of line with comparable restaurants) and the food wasn't that spectacular. We had heard rave (and clearly well-warranted!) reviews of the new chef and were pleased to see the prices are more reasonable again with most entrees in the $25-$30 range with a couple at $32. This is consistent with other local restaurants of this caliber. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the food, the selection of wines and the outstanding service. The baby grilled octopus appetizer its one of the best I've ever had. We all chose different things from the menu and all agreed that food was great. Portions and the right size and the fusion of southern and french cusine makes a great combination. Our waitress Patricia did an outstanding job on describing each dish and showed perfect knowledge of the menu. Complimentary champagne. The staff all acknowledged our special occasion. The waitress was so nice and helpful. We ordered dessert
and they had prepared it on a plate with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate.
We are not known and no influence if any kind and watermark made my wife and I feel special.

My dad was visiting Nashville for the first time ever and our experience at Watermark was our favorite part of the weekend, right alongside going to the Opry on Friday night! :) Our waiter, Cole was so kind, Chef Bob came out to personally greet and talk to us and even sent out complimentary scallops (delicious!).
