We had dinner here with an out-of-towner who had eaten the previous two nights at Nic's which is supposed to be #1 in LB, with Watermarc. After our dinner here, her opinion was totally revised. For us, the food has excellent; interesting dishes, well presented, delicious, all you'd want in a food (and drink) experience. Service was low key but attentive, it was all good!

My husband and I dined at the Watermarc on September 6 for our one year wedding anniversary. I requested the table front and center window as it was the same spot we ate at on our engagement night. The staff at the Watermarc made it happen and our server even knew it was our anniversary. The dinner ended with a complimentary dessert which was a lovely touch. The evening was wonderful and we very much appreciated the attention to detail, thank you!

Our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at Watermarc. They have a wonderful room upstairs that perfectly accommodated our group of 30 plus. Food/service was fabulous! Watermarc is the sister restaurant to "230 Forest" (another great Cohen restaurant). I purchased gift certificates at Watermarc (good for all 3 Cohen restaurants) for wedding "thankyou's". Watermarc in turn gave me a gift certicate for 10% of that cost! We dined there this weekend and had fabulous dinner (Halubut scampi and their 1855 New York). The wine list is great, they always have a super "featured" wine. Service was super! GM Lucy was wonderful at our rehearsal dinner. She remembered us and took good care of us Saturday night. Can't wait to go back!

Not out first time at Watermarc, but every time the food has been perfectly prepared. I had requested a table upstairs with our reservation because it is usually quieter and this was a special birthday celebration. That table was not available but they had saved the best table in the house instead. We had a lovely evening and we will be back.

I went there with my Mom for a drink and some small plates before Pageant of the Masters. The small plates were fantastic. I definitely recommend the ahi skewers and the crab cakes with the sweet potato hash. We also had the special which was fresh figs wrapped in prosciutto with burrata and baby kale salad. Delicious! If you are in the area, definitely check it out.

Try not to be seated upstairs. Very tight, tables are too close together. Felt like I was dining at the same table with the people next to us. The paella was soupy and the half of lobster was slimy/mushy and watery, never seen that before.

A bit more formal than the usual seaside attire I've seen on Laguna Beach. Upscale yet unpretentious which is so refreshing coming from NYC. Their bread and butter are made in house, a red wine butter that I haven't tasted the likes of anywhere else. A great list of specialty cocktails. I suggest trying their specials and the Steak 3 ways. Hosts were gracious even though we were late for our reservation. Server was very informative and professional but at the same time friendly and never hurried us even though we were one of the last to leave. Windows open up to the street, people stroll by and the beach is only a few blocks away. I really like the feel of the place, relaxing atmosphere, great food, as well as proximity to the beach.

We have made this our go to restaurant in Laguna. If you want to try a lot of different things you can stick to their small plates or choose from the entrees. We usually do both and roll out of there. Fortunately it is in the heart of downtown so there are plenty of places to walk it off after. I always finish things off with their lunch box dessert of homemade ding dongs.

Like most of the Laguna restaurants, Watermarc is tight on space, but they make up for it with excellent food, very good service and beautiful presentation. I had the beet carpaccio and the paella; hubby had the chopped salad and nite's special of diver scallops over a bed of mushroom risotto. We left well fed and very happy. Need to return and try more!

We had dinner at Watermarc on Friday night, August, 15. Generally, the drinks and tapas (flat bread, oysters and lamb) were top notch, although the "Dark and Stormy" tasted terrible, so we opted for "Fire and Ice" which was terrific! Seafood entres (scallops and paella) were way too salty. Service was attentive and accommodating when we sent the "Dark and Stormy" back. Would go again, but just for cocktails and tapas.

We had a wonderful experience with the exception we were both gluten-free for health reasons, not by choice. We let the server know this from the start; he even said he would make sure things were prepared gluten-free. My dish was served on a toasted round (not gluten-free) and was topped with crispy onions (not gluten-free) and surprise dessert was bread pudding (so not gluten-free). We will be back but will make sure we are very clear about the seriousness of having our meal prepared GF.

I have only eaten at Watermarc a few times, but it is my new favorite restaurant. The reason is consistency. While a couple of my other regular spots offer great food and service, they sometimes have off days or times when the entrees aren't quite right. Every time we've been to Watermarc, the food has been prepared perfectly. This last time, we both had chilean sea bass as our entrees and it was perfection, along with the vegetables, which included asparagus and artichokes. The nut cake was a great desert. We also always find a wine by the glass that we like and is reasonably priced. We'll be back.

However this time wasn't as impressed as last time just a year ago. Food was slow to come in. Driving from the Laguna Play house at 5:00 PM to the Watermarc is quite the battle but worth the hassle! Parking is another major headache for any restaurant on PCH. The food was excellent; the shrimp appetizer and the pistachio crusted lamb chops were wonderful! This place came recommended. Cute restaurant, very fun atmosphere. The food was OK, not fabulous. The staff while attentive seemed to want to turn the table quickly and seemed more responsive to those diners with larger parties than just two. I did appreciate the waiter steering us away from things he felt were inconsistent or not high on his list of faves. His recommendations were spot on. I would give it a second try the next time I'm in Laguna.
