  • Good food, rushed service

We sat on the upper level, which is partially open to the outdoors (very lovely). The food was good, but the service provided by Eric was rushed. After placing the bill on our table (without our asking for it), he came to our table twice to collect payment, and each time we were not ready to pay. Feeling rushed ruined our dining experience. I will not plan on returning to Watermarc any time soon.

A number of good 1/2 carafe options and amazing paella - 2 lobster tails! Nice staff. A little noisy, but it is Laguna. We had a table over looking Peppertree Lane and it was lovely. Good food, nice service. Seabass was perfectly done.

  • Charming & In the Heart of Laguna

Watermarc is a beautiful, charming restaurant in the heart of Laguna. It is steps from Main Beach and on PCH, where everyone wants to be. It is a part of Peppertree Lane, a collection of quaint shops/restaurants that share a cute brick alley. The windows in the restaurant are flipped open, to allow the ocean breezes to flow in. The bar crowd is lively, and the tables are intimate. The food is top notch! And the staff is polite and accommodating. My brother proposed to his girlfriend last week at the beach and then brought her to Watermarc for dinner. They were given an excellent table and their waiter delivered a bottle of champagne from us to them. They said it was the perfect evening.

I luv their salmon nicoise salad and it never fails to be please. One of our guests had the hamburger and raved about it. We shared the fries which were served piping hot and delicious. When asked for something not on the menu, they accommodated our request perfectly serving a nice portion of grilled halibut with fingerling potatoes. Our dinner was great and we can't wait to return.

Sat outside on a lovely fall evening. Food was very good. The service was very attentive, but the waiter needs to learn the etiquette of asking before taking away glasses. Everything was a la carte. Three people/three salads/three glasses of wine/three entrees/one side order of potatoes/one complimentary BD desert was close to $170. The Macdanamia bread pudding was wonderful and so was my daughter's salmon on a plank. I had three mini filets prepared three ways. It was good but could have been warmer and had a little more flavor. Extremely tender. The Oscar one was my favorite--so glad I ate it last. My husband had pork, but didn't comment on it much, so cannot say. Extremely noisy inside; recommend sitting outdoors or upstairs.

Enjoyed our evening at Watermarc. Service was excellent, sat at the front window. It was a little warm and our waiter graciously opened the glass slider, wonderful breeze. We had dinner here with an out-of-towner who had eaten the previous two nights at Nic's which is supposed to be #1 in LB, with Watermarc. After our dinner here, her opinion was totally revised. For us, the food has excellent; interesting dishes, well presented, delicious, all you'd want in a food (and drink) experience. Service was low key but attentive, it was all good!

My husband and I dined at the Watermarc on September 6 for our one year wedding anniversary. I requested the table front and center window as it was the same spot we ate at on our engagement night. The staff at the Watermarc made it happen and our server even knew it was our anniversary. The dinner ended with a complimentary dessert which was a lovely touch. The evening was wonderful and we very much appreciated the attention to detail, thank you!

Our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at Watermarc. They have a wonderful room upstairs that perfectly accommodated our group of 30 plus. Food/service was fabulous! Watermarc is the sister restaurant to "230 Forest" (another great Cohen restaurant). I purchased gift certificates at Watermarc (good for all 3 Cohen restaurants) for wedding "thankyou's". Watermarc in turn gave me a gift certicate for 10% of that cost! We dined there this weekend and had fabulous dinner (Halubut scampi and their 1855 New York). The wine list is great, they always have a super "featured" wine. Service was super! GM Lucy was wonderful at our rehearsal dinner. She remembered us and took good care of us Saturday night. Can't wait to go back!

A bit more formal than the usual seaside attire I've seen on Laguna Beach. Upscale yet unpretentious which is so refreshing coming from NYC. Their bread and butter are made in house, a red wine butter that I haven't tasted the likes of anywhere else. A great list of specialty cocktails. I suggest trying their specials and the Steak 3 ways. Hosts were gracious even though we were late for our reservation. Server was very informative and professional but at the same time friendly and never hurried us even though we were one of the last to leave. Windows open up to the street, people stroll by and the beach is only a few blocks away. I really like the feel of the place, relaxing atmosphere, great food, as well as proximity to the beach.

We have made this our go to restaurant in Laguna. If you want to try a lot of different things you can stick to their small plates or choose from the entrees. We usually do both and roll out of there. Fortunately it is in the heart of downtown so there are plenty of places to walk it off after. I always finish things off with their lunch box dessert of homemade ding dongs.

Like most of the Laguna restaurants, Watermarc is tight on space, but they make up for it with excellent food, very good service and beautiful presentation. We had dinner at Watermarc on Friday night, August, 15. Generally, the drinks and tapas (flat bread, oysters and lamb) were top notch, although the "Dark and Stormy" tasted terrible, so we opted for "Fire and Ice" which was terrific! Seafood entres (scallops and paella) were way too salty. Service was attentive and accommodating when we sent the "Dark and Stormy" back. Would go again, but just for cocktails and tapas.
