  • "We had our second delightful dinner her this year. We had wanted to sit out side, but rainshowers drove us in. Still, the view of the pond was lovely and rivaled the delicious food and wine. I enjoyed the duck and fig, which was a delicious combination. The chilled crab and corn soup was also wonderful."

  • "We really enjoyed a quiet patio dinner at Waterleaf. The prices are a little higher, but the food is superb. Of special note, the gnochi with rabbit was so good and the PBJ dessert was excellent."

  • "Lovely setting overlooking a large pond on campus. Fixed price menu-$38 for appetizer, main & dessert. Pea soup was tasty. My husband liked his fish a lot; I didn't like my main at all. (2 kinds of pork, one a piece of medium cooked pork loin, and one a well-done piece of meat (with a shredded texture like a BBQ), with a marinated cabbage slaw.) They noticed how little I ate; asked me why. I said I did not like it at all. They offered another entree, but I did not take anything else. We both had the very goodlemon tart for dessert. They did not charge for my meal, even though I did not complain or ask for any adjustment. THey were very nice to comp us for my whole meal. We will try them again one evening."

  • "I've eaten at Waterleaf twice now and I can't wait to go back. The food is delicious and they accommodations they make for gluten free diners doesn't subtract from the meal in the least. The gluten free chocolate cake is out of this world! The outdoor patio is gorgeous, with small fountains, fire pits and adjacent to the lake. Highly recommend."

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary in the midst of a thunderstorm and occasional downpours that added to the ambiance of Waterleaf's pond facing dining room . The salad presentation of thinly sliced smoked trout over super-fresh greens was an immediate hit . This was followed by fig stuffed duck breast that was cooked to perfection. The dessert list was hard to resist and we chose the very delicately prepared strawberry shortcake. The wine list was excellent with plenty of by the glass choices. We had a great evening highlighted by watching a parade of young toads and turtles leaving their sanctuary and heading for the pond thanks to pooling of the rain. Would go back to Waterleaf in an instant."

  • "If you've had a hard day and want to get some good food and drink in a spot that makes you feel at home and has attentive service this is the place. Currently the parking is a bit hard to find and requires a token provided at the door to exit the parking area, but just follow the signs and you'll get there. Right by the doorway into the place. The food is reasonably priced and has a nice variety of dishes for you to choose from. No the coyotes aren't real but seem to keep the geese away which is nice. Other bird-life out the window are enjoyable. The dinner rolls are lovely especially with a bit o' butter. A very nice wine list helps keep the stresses of the day at bay. Perhaps this place isn't discovered yet, but for us, that's nice."

  • "Wow! Did not expect this quality of food from a college building. The rabbit gnocchi was incredible. I have eaten at a lot of great restaurants, and the gnocchi was some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth! Everything my husband ate was delish. Highly recommend for a night out for some foodies!"

  • "The three of us thoroughly enjoyed dining at Waterleaf! It was an elegant experience and the food was superb!! I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. I think it is a wonderful place for dinner. Have not had lunch here yet and would like to know how costly the lunch menu is."

  • "We went to Waterleaf to celebrate a friend's college graduation. We had heard from our "foodie friends" that it was excellent, but we have to double that opinion. The cuisine was top notch, the waiter was the best we have ever had, and we loved that the portions were just the right size. Only in Paris have we previously had that experience. We will definitely be back to celebrate or to just have a nice lunch by ourselves."

  • "A friend told me about this place and it surpassed my expectations. For a college campus setting, the decor and the views were impressive. This was matched by the excellent service, attention to detail, and the menu. My wife and I had a great time and will be back."

  • "Have had dinner and brunch and can't say enough regarding the positive experience. Excellent. Will host my son's 58th birthday soon."

  • "Waterleaf is a true surprise. I was not sure what to expect even though I had read many favorable reviews. It did not disappoint! The food was high quality and expertly prepared. Presentation was nice. The restaurant is located near a pond and the view is scenic and serene. The decor and feel of the restaurant is upscale and formal. The service could have been a little better, but not bad at all. Just a little confusion with who was actually waiting on our table. Later found out one of the waiters was in training. "

  • "Waterleaf is at the College of DuPage, next to the Mac Arts Center. It is a dining gem; the executive chef, Nadia Tilkian, used to head up Mai Jean in Clarendon Hills and perhaps is sharing her expertise with hospitality students at the college. I had a tender, delicious pork tenderloin with blackberry sauce and carrot purée; my husband had a luscious matelote, a seafood stew. Other companions had the vegetable plate, guinea hen, roast veal all of which they pronounced superb. We had mango creme brulée for dessert--just lovely. They offer a prix fixe menu which is an excellent value. There were some tables outside; I imagine when it gets warm, they will be in great demand. "

  • "We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Great staff, Cody makes nice cocktails at the bar. We sat (luckily) by the window and had a great view of the pond. Service was knowledgeable and attentive, but not annoying. My waiter re-educated me on port. We look forward to coming again. Food was truly excellent - clearly know what they are doing and execute it well."

  • "Responded with their timely email about Mothers Day. Took a group of 5 at 4pm. 3course prix fix meal. 3 people had not been there...everyone loved it! Excellent dining...the Halibut was outstanding as was the filet. Interesting egg dishes as starters. Service suburb....ask for Tyler. Wine list decent and fairly priced. Somewhat expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Lake view from restaurant and large patio with fire pit is excellent for the west suburbs."
