We have been here a few times. Each time the food, the service, the ambiance is top notch. The dishes are creative, the wine list is good (not great), and the atmosphere refined. I find it a very relaxing time. Prices are reasonable if not a touch high. You can't go wrong dining at Waterleaf.

We enjoyed our first visit to Waterleaf. Modern and elegant. Innovative, delicious food, though smallish portions. We enjoyed the fixed price menu. Both menus had many interesting choices. The mango creme brûlée was very nice. I'm sure we will return .

Celebrated my husband's birthday. It was very quiet on a Wednesday night but that suited us just fine. The staff was excellent, made great suggestions and was very attentive. Food was very delicious but served at a leisurely pace so plan to spend some time. Pricing was not too outrageous but the "create your own menu" deal really was a great bargain. We will definitely return.

The food was delicious and the staff was very professional. We were not rushed and the waiter was kind enough to wrap one of our dessert (strawberry shortcake) in three individual containers to bring home. Can't say enough about this restaurant.

Stellar restaurant located on the COD campus, but not part of the school. Prices are extremely reasonable for the 5 star quality so you don't have to wait for a special occasion. Great outdoor seating as well. Superb cuisine and wine list. Don't let the location fool you - make the trip!

The brunch menu is fairly brief and would disappoint a true carnivore, but everything we ordered was really delicious: cheese selection, vichyssoise, crab Benedict, crab souffle, frozen lemon pie, double-chocolate dessert - all wonderful. Service was also excellent, everyone from the helpful host to the polite kid who kept our water glasses filled. NICE brunch experience.

This is the 2nd time we have gone to Waterleaf. The food is very well done and the service is attentive. Both pork entrees were done well and the pork belly appetizer was terrific. The risotto was creamy. We took wine and the handling was well done. The corkage fee is about average these days ($20). It is a very nice place in the western suburbs.

Waterleaf on a pleasant Saturday summer evening. Dined outside on patio, the setting was picturesque, relaxed, comfortable. The service is outstanding: friendly, attentive, pleasing to serve, knowledgeable about menu selections. Food was very good. I understand Waterleaf promotes as "French" dining, but it seemed the portions for the entrees and the accompanying side dishes could have been a bit bigger for the price / value (applies to orders selected by myself and dining companions: tilapia, duck, filet). Was unaware that this elegant gem is part of the COD complex. Certainly a place to go for a special occasion.

One of the very best in the Chicago area. The setting with the lake in front of you, lighted trees around you and 2 fire pits In the center of the patio is dreamlike. The food is very creative and delicious. A good example would be the peanut butter soufflé with grape jelly on the top. Our server was very attentive and substituted a side dish when of us did not want the one that came with the meal. Can't wait to go back.

The restaurant (and hotel) are almost hidden on the campus of the College of DuPage. However, it's worth the trip. It is easily accessible from the Roosevelt Road exit off of I-355. Food is excellent (and we're foodies) and we plan to visit, again, in the future. The patio has a nice view of the pond and campus. Inside the dining room is quiet and reserved. Management is highly trained and motivated so that the experience is always pleasant. Highly recommended.

We tried the Waterleaf Restaurant based on a great review by Phil Vettel (sp?) of the Chicago Tribune. We sat outdoors near the fire pit and overlooking the beautiful small lake with lighted fountain and floating flowers. The menu was well rounded, and the wine list was extensive. Our meals were delicious and the presentation was nice without being over the top. The chef made excellent use of seasonal produce. My duck breast with blueberry sauce & roasted nectarines was both delicious and creative. The service was excellent; friendly but not intrusive. The evening was romantic with wonderful ambiance. The dining room is also very attractive and cozy. All in all, we plan on returning often & may even try the overnight hotel/dinner pkg.

The main courses were good, liver and lobster roll, but we ordered the 3 cheese appetizer and thought the portions were too small. The setting is gorgeous, window wall looking out on the lawn and lake. Service was also very good. The prices for lunch were high, we had appetizer, main course , dessert and coffee for $40 each. Sorry I can't be more positive, we were looking forward to it after reading the reviews.

I took a friend there for her birthday and it was wonderful! Food was outstanding, as well as view and service, and most of all it was a relaxing atmosphere! This was my second visit to Waterleaf and my first review. My first visit was excellent but I can't say the same for this visit. Everything was same as first visit except for the Service. We had a Saturday night reservation for 6:45. It took 30 minutes! to get our pre-dinner drinks after we ordered them when we sat down. What made us furious is that while waiting 30 minutes to receive our drinks, the "reserved" table guests sitting next to us by the window got their drinks, their order taken, their bottle of wine and were visted by their server and management staff several times. It seemed as though the patrons and management are all French and as a result received impecable service at our expense. Everything else was very good.

We took friends to Winterleaf after reading all the great reviews. The place looks great with wide open views over the pond. We all had the three course dinner, and were not all that impressed. The dinners were all good, but were missing the ingredients that would move them to the great class. My pork tenderloin was slightly over cooked. My mushroom risotto was skimpy in mushrooms and in size.
