Food and drinks were very good. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. We went there for our date night. We are 35 and by far the youngest people there but it didn't matter. Very large wine list and decent beer selection. I would go back again.

My sister gave us a gift certificate to the restaurant so we decided to try it. The food was very good, portion sizes just perfect and they had a nice wine list. Our servers were students and they were very attentive. They use locally grown produce and have some interesting choices which I understand change regularly. the atmosphere is very nice and they do have a fixed price menu for $40 if interested. Everything we ate was very good. I would highly recommend it and we cannot wait to go back!

Went there with another couple for lunch and food was wonderful as were the wine choices. We chose that restaurant because we wanted a place we could sit back, relax and get caught up with conversation. The only problem was the waitress, although very nice and efficient, was in a rush to get us out of there. I understand the purpose of that but there were a lot of open tables! She cleared all plates and I was still eating! That made it very uncomfortable to want to finish my plate. She definitely made us feel rushed. Having said that - the restaurant is wonderful and I have been there often and will still go back. It is a great place to go for very fresh and very good food!

Waterleaf is a hidden gem in the Western Suburbs. The atmosphere is upscale, and the setting with the outdoor lights and pond is peaceful and relaxing. I particularly enjoyed the lobster roll on the lunch menu, while my dining companion raved about the French onion soup. The maple creme brûlée and the frozen lemon pie are scrumptious.

When my mom said that she wanted to go to a restaurant that is a part of the College of DuPage, I was obviously skeptical, however it was a fabulous experience! I really enjoyed where we sat, in the back of the restaurant right by the patio. There were lights on the trees, so it was very scenic. I would not want to sit in the middle of the restaurant though. The tables were all very close together and there wasn't much to look at. The meals were all very unique. Most of the descriptions were described in French, so our waiter basically had to translate what was in each dish we thought we might be interested in. A simplified version would be better. I felt like an idiot asking what one ingredient was when it turns out it was parsley

Waterleaf will not disappoint. Beautiful surroundings and wonderful food. A meal could be made of the unique appetizers alone: open faced crab sandwich, pork belly, Scotch duck egg! Chef Nadia continues the tradition she began at Maijean--solid classical cooking with terrific contemporary twists. We will return.

We had a lovely dinner for my mom's birthday - we ordered from the prix fixe menu which included a choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 desserts for $40.00 per person. The portions are not large which we liked - just enough so when your dessert arrives, you're not so full you can't enjoy it. Our server mentioned that the regular menu does have larger portions. We had skate prepared with a mild curry (really delicious, almost meaty, and complex prepared with cauliflower and fava beans). It was unexpected and really delicious. My son ordered pork tenderloin prepared with blueberry sauce - he enjoyed it. I loved the shrimp risotto appetizer - so creamy and rich! Waterleaf is a very nice place for an elegant, special dinner.

First time at Waterleaf! Will not be last! Delicious food, varied choices available. I debated between two different desserts. However, the one I chose was more to my husbands taste then mine. He devoured his. The waiter must have overheard me saying that I chose poorly.....next thing I know, the creme brulee I did not order was set in front of me. That is attentiveness! Finished it all.

I was looking for a restaurant for our anniversary and came across a great review for Waterleaf. I would differently recommend this place it is beautifully decorated and the food is delicious. I had the salmon and it was flaky and in a delicious mushroom broth. My husband equally enjoyed his entree of porchetta. We will surly be back there again before our next anniversary. PS: Our server was excellent and gave us a great recommendation for wine.

The food and ambiance (white table clothes, many servers, great food) was very good. Our main server appeared to get busy very quickly after our arrival and the time we sat was a bit longer than one would expect with so much service. The wine list featured different wines than the comparable restaurants in the area - good overall experience and we will go again.

While my husband and I have enjoyed drinks on the patio, we had not dined at the Waterleaf for a complete dinner until Sat. night and were so excited to find a place where the food was excellent, the waitstaff attentive and the noise level low so we could actually hear the other couple talk without effort. It was a perfect way to spend an evening. We thought the menu was quite varied and the prices reasonable. We will go again!

Six of us go out on Wednesday nights regularly. We usually like to try different places but occasionally go back to places we've really enjoyed. This was our third time at Waterleaf so that really says something. However, in this case, the third time was not the charm. Great décor, excellent service, but the food was a little disappointing. Three of the 6 had the duck breast special and all 3 said it was not hot. All of us felt the menu was limited and we were informed of 2 items on the menu that were no longer available when it came time to order. Not a bad dinner, but not up to the standard they set with our first 2 experiences.

The restaurant is beautiful and the service was very good. The bartender was very personable and mixed a good drink when we sat at the bar waiting for our party of 6. Three of the six of us ordered fish and were very disappointed with it as it was too dry and overcooked which fish should never be! The rest of the meal was good especially the mango crème brulee.

I had been to Waterleaf once before for the excellent Sunday brunch. This time the four of us went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Once again, we were all extremely satisfied with our choices ( soup & salad combo). The carrot ginger soup was delicious, and the Nicoise salad is a true winner. We were the only customers in the dining room....seemed a shame that more people were not here to take advantage of the excellent offerings, wonderful ambiance and attentive wait staff. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone.
