We did not get served our starter course for 1hr and 10 minutes. When the food came it was great and the staff and management made up for the serving delay. It is the only delay we have ever experienced there, we will dine there again. Arguably the finest fish in Los Angeles. Well with the experience.

They seem to still be working out the kinks of their new found hipness (it was crowded!) but the service was fantastic and the small problems we had were met with sincere apologies and a free entree. The decor and vibe are outstanding and even an imperfect meal there is better than most.

We had just eaten at one of their "sister" restaurants called 555E in Long Beach where we were blown away by the service,food,and ambiance-so we were excited about going to Water Grill. After 20 mins at the table the waiter asks us for drinks. 25 mins later they come? I order double vodka w/splash of grapefruit - the smallest $24 drink I have had in my life! My wife orders a glass of Chardonnay which was $14 and she thought she was at a wine tasting. At that volume of wine in this glass they were getting 11-12 glasses of wine per bottle. Service-not good. Oysters-very good. Crab cake-great. Clam Chowder-don't order. Lobster roll-OK. Shrimp Louie-can you say "deconstructed". Cioppino-different but good. Bill $300 (for 4)- I've had better :(

We hadn't been to Water Grill for ages and we were not sure if it would live up to our expectations. We were not disappointed! Everyone in our group of 6 raved that their fish was amazing and the frito misto appetizer was a favorite with the group. We loved it and can't wait to go back.
