My husband and I were inhouse quests at the Washington Place Inn and therefore had the opportunity to have both dinner and brunch at the restaurant. Both experiences were very pleasant. The food was exceptional for both meals ansd the staff friendly and attentive. We also like the ambiance at the restaurant with several dining areas available making it a more intimate dining experience. We would certainly recommend this restaurant and the Inn to any one.

To be short but sweet, this place is excellent all around. Nice wine and beer list, all the food we had was incredible (fresh fries, arugula salad, pot roast, BBQ pork shank), service was lovely, and the place is very clean and charming. Will definitely be back. Great find!

My husband had the pot roast which was very good. Pretty weak on salad offerings and at $9.00 the arugula salad just ok. I had the filet of beef . It was served over mashed potatoes which were good. The beef was very thin and small for$31.00. Because of being so thin was overcooked at medium more towards medium well and not that flavorful. Seemed to share same sauce as pot roast. For that price expected larger thickness and better flavor. My husband's pot roast had more flavor and was much less expensive at I believe was $ 21.00 . Skip the filet of beef and get that. Brownie dessert was very good. Took off menu favorite of prosciutto chicken which was popular but told too hard to make?

The restaurant is physically beautiful inside and outside. The contemporary, cozy and peaceful setting was marred only by some rather loud partying going on in the bar. Our food was expertly prepared, although more vegan options to choose from would have been preferred. Service was friendly and accommodating. My partner did not enjoy the place as much as I did, but I'd like to return someday.

I've been a few times before and always pleased. The cocktails are out of this world delicious, the brunch entrees are almost always exceptional and the service is always great. This was the only time I've been and had a less than stellar experience. The breakfast potatoes were lifeless. They were soft and somewhat mushy, but that was the only disappointment. Salads were fresh and crisp, soup was lick the bowl delicious.

Not only do they have a great restaurant but a fabulous bed & breakfast as well. The pork shank was a hit which was recommended from our server, it came with spinach, grits and cheese. I am not a fan of grits, but these grits were absolutely delicious, just the right amount of cheese; a wonderful compliment to the pork and a nice switch from potatoes. The beet salad was a nice change from the run of the mill salads. Everything our group of four ordered was tasty. We highly recommend this little gem.

Wonderful ambiance. This old converted house is warm, inviting, and intimate without being pretentious. The food was average. I had the shrimp and grits which was touted as being the best on the menu. It was quite visually appealing, but lacked seasoning. A LOT of seasoning. My friend had the special which was a shrimp Alfredo with fresh herbs. Same story. Needed a LOT of salt. They did have salt in the table though, which I typically consider a na sign. The malt vinegar aeoli with the French fry app was AMAZING as was the donut bread pudding. I also loved their version of the Moscow Mule. (I had 2). Overall, we had a very nice time and I would go back. Just don't expect to be wowed by the food.

Disappointing evening. Management overbooked, but wouldn't tell us. Better restaurants, when faced with a glitch, will offer an after-dinner drink, free glass of wine, discount on the bill or a coupon for a free bottle of wine on a future visit. Not this management. They don’t care. The bartender, who was very friendly and accommodating, made the experience as good as possible considering he couldn't do anything other than be empathetic. We will try them again in a few years when we can dine at an earlier hour. You don’t want to be there at the tail end of the evening.

The food was excellent, but we felt super rushed. We were seated in a smaller room, although tables were available with a scenic view. The tables are densely packed and an inebriated gentleman, inches from my female friend wandered his gaze at least 5 times from his wife to get a good head to toe look. When we declined dessert, we were sent adrift in a small boat to an island while the townspeople watched. It felt like that. We were handed the bill while we still had an almost full bottle of wine (we had starter drinks) and then tried to have a conversation, but were constantly asked about the status of the bill. They have a big "Complementary Valet" sign out front which is insulting as you are directed by cones to the valet stand.

Three of us recently enjoyed a Saturday lunch/brunch on the charming porch and then six of us returned for dinner on a Tuesday evening. This is one of our favorite places to bring out of town guests. Great ambiance. Will keep on returning.

As always, the food and service were excellent! The only downside is that everyone enjoyed their meals so much that we didn't have leftovers to take home!! Our dinners included the pot roast, hanger steak and blue marlin, and the vegetable stuffed heirloom tomato. Each was fantastic. Oooh, and then the espresso brownie with salted caramel ice cream!! A perfect end to the evening. We will definitely be back - again!

I made an 8pm reservation for myself and my special lady friend to take advantage of the 2 for $40 Wednesday night deal (shared appetizer, two entrees and a bottle of wine for $40). We were able to get a seat outside on the patio, which was perfect for the evening. The food was great (even better based on the price of the deal). I enjoyed the pot roast, which I highly recommend. Michael, our server, was attentive and responsive. Overall a great evening!

Our last visit to Washington Place was about a year back. At the time it was recommended to try as a gluten-free friendly restaurant. At the time they did not have g-f bread or g-f beer but they were talking about adding both. A year later, they are still talking about it. But, both of our visits did not disappoint in terms of menu options, presentation, and flavor. Our meals were well received - both the Pot Roast (not g-f) and the Duck Risotto (yes, g-f) were well made and enjoyed. Our server could not have been more gracious and someone ran out to provide gluten-free crackers for me and a replacement dressing was provided for my salad. The kitchen was receptive to creating a g-f option from any protein and a selection of sides.

We enjoyed a last minute dinner reservation as our first experience and were very pleasantly surprised. We were given the option of several different tables and found one in a quiet room overlooking the garden. Our server Lisa arrived promptly and did a fantastic job checking on us at the perfect intervals throughout the evening. All of the food we ordered was delicious. The Shrimp and Grits is available as a small plate and is perfect to share as an appetizer. The hanger steak entree arrived perfectly prepared and was one of the tastiest steaks I have ever enjoyed in a restaurant. Save room for dessert - the espresso brownie with salted caramel ice cream is an amazing ending to a beautiful night out. We loved the free valet parking!
