A word from Washington Park Grille
The Zagat Survey says, "There's much to like about this Washington Park Italian-New American: "good food", a "great patio" & "cheerful" service & ambiance."
Upscale thirty-something’s & the college crowd mingle at this popular neighborhood restaurant & gathering place east of Wash Park.
A covered strip on the south side of the building makes for convivial outdoor seating (you just might see a neighbor), and Sunday brunch offers an all you can eat Buffet (juice, soda, coffee and tea are included). A beautiful lounge is off to the side. 11 beers are on tap, 15 in bottles and an excellent wine list at the elegant U-shaped bar.
Dinners are mid-priced, with a nice selection of grilled seafood & steaks & several fancy pasta dishes. The lunch offering is paninis, grilled sandwiches, salads & pasta.

We arrived an hour early for our reservation after seeing the Chihuly Exhibit at Denver Botanical Gardens. While we couldn't be seated immediately, they accommodated us after a cocktail in the lounge 39 minutes later. Food was outstanding!

Used to be good. Was there a change of chefs? Things didn't taste fresh. Especially the salmon on my salad which I sent back. Smelled very fishy. Got the grilled romaine instead and that didn't seem to have much flavor.

My husband and I were looking for a place with great food, comfortable adult atmosphere, and a noise level that would allow us to enjoy conversation with a guest from out of town. We were very happy with the Washington Park Grille on all counts. The friendly, knowledgeable waitress was a joy as well.

I took my friend to Wash Park Grill for a birthday lunch. Both of our Caesar salads had undercooked chicken on them. No problem sending them back but then they came out without avocado. The waiter did take one of the salads off our bill voluntarily but what a weird experience. Fortunately, the great weather and wonderful location on the patio helped make up for it.

WashPark neighborhood is charming (parking is a bit of a challenge). The food was pretty good, unique menu, decent wine list, fish of day was very good, steak was decent. But service was uneven - staff was friendly, conversational, but not very attentive: we waited quite awhile to have our dishes cleared, dessert inquiry came pretty late. They seemed to be more interested in socializing with each other than with tending to customers.

We arrived a little early for our reservation so decided to sit at the bar for a drink. We were ignored for about 5 minutes before being asked what we would like. When we first sat down we saw one of the serving staff drinking a beer, another a glass of wine. From there it got better... out came the shots of tequila. Three of the staff had not one but two shots, one was serving the bar area so she was on the clock, another was a waitress and the last one of the hostesses. The hostess went back for more wine and then was seating people less than a half hour later. Didn't think that was too cool. Don't do the muscles... awful. Rest of the food was okay and our server, Eric, did a great job. Would I return? Not likely.

Spent 1/2 hour trying to find parking, drove past the restaurant 15 times & then walked 4 blks. Not a long way but after dark & a bad knee. Waitress sez "We have valet" Only sign was 1/2 way down the block. She sez it's for all the restaurants in the block. How am I supposed to know that? Noise level off the charts. Four of us were practically shouting at each other trying to get caught up. Finally ordered. We were all starving by the time our food arrived. $16 for soup, salad and iced tea. Expensive but not asmuch as if I'd had an entree & wine. Would I go there again? maybe but not on a Friday nite.

Wash Park Grille serves reliably good food time and time again. The scene is always vibrant and the service great. Our favorite is the Colorado lamb, which is cooked to perfection and served with unbeatable mashed potatoes. Seasonal dishes and nightly specials are often hard to resist. This time it was pumpkin gnocchi with kale and chicken sausage. The chicken sausage was mediocre but the gnocchi was uniquely delicious. Looking forward to coming back.

We had a delightful dinner with dear friends. The waitress was attentive and charming. The menu has changed a bit, and for the better- very good. We went early because of the noise level. By the time we left the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. So go early if you prefer a more quiet dining experience.

This was a super location for a great meal during a business dinner. Service was friendly, the decor is interesting and the outdoor patio looked great (we were inside but there were a lot of folks enjoying the warm evening). It was quiet and private enough to be able to talk business, and my guest, from Northern California, also thought his meal very tasty. The weekly ravioli special (3 different options) was delicious. I will be back soon!

We hadn't been here in a long time, but on aa perfect fall day after a walk @ Wash Park we came here for happy hour. The 4 of us had the patio to ourselves, the TV was on with baseball playoffs (a few weeks ago), and the food was good! The sliders, a pasta dish, and chicken lettuce wraps were our sampling (with some wine, of course), and everyone enjoyed it. We'll be back for more of the same and won't wait so long next time.

Went to lunch on Weds. to celebrate my sons' return home...it was over one hour before our meals arrived. Our waiter seemed unkempt, and we felt forgotten even though we were in the main dining area and there were plenty of empty tables. The latte was unacceptable but the waiter did not seem to care (watery, weak coffee). Overall we expected a high class, lovely lunch experience but nothing but the cost reflected this quality. We were so disappointed, we have eaten here many times and this was really a surprisingly poor experience.

My wife and I had the grouper - it was so fresh and tasty - big white chunks of tender meat that just melted in your month. Second best was the buffalo rib eye that our eldest son had - so so very tender and juicy. Perfectly prepared. An amazing evening in a great place.

Great brunch at reasonable price. The food is fresh and mimosas are a good deal. It would be nice to see table cloths for brunch, but since the price is low I understand missing this detail. The omelette service was slow, but I liked not having to stand at a station line waiting to have it cooked for me. Also, I would not sit in a booth for brunch with more than 2 people as it is inefficient for getting in and out to serve yourself. Overall, this is a great brunch for Denver at a great value.
