We are history buffs and we went to the restaurant for our anniversary. They could not seat us with a view (despite the open tables) and they were out of the wine we ordered. The food was average at best. My steak and mashed potatoes were dry. The game hen is only a portion of the small bird soy husband was still hungry. The room was noisy (with only a few people in it). The clientele were older and the menu seemed to cater to an older crowd. Not much interesting going on

Have you a new chef? I had the fried turkey and it tasted like turkey loaf and the hailbut was not great like it used to be. No flatbread anymore and the salad was not as good as usual. Very disappointed as I have always gone to the Inn. Not outstanding anymore.

The Washington Crossing salad, which is usually excellent, was not up to standards and the Angiolotti pasta dishes was not as good as usual either. Otherwise, service was excellent. Martinis are terrific.

I took a friend to the Inn for a birthday lunch, and we were fortunate to eat outside on the beautiful terrace. Although we ordered from the a la carte menu, the restaurant offers an excellent $12.99 three-course pre-fixe lunch. We both had the delicious house salad to start, followed by the filet sandwich for my guest and the shaved prime rib sandwich for me. While the quality of the beef was very high, to me there was too much beef on the menu and not enough fish (other than salmon). The choice of wines by the glass is very good and the prices are fair. The service was pleasant but a bit slow, however the place was full and perhaps they were short-staffed.

I was hoping for a better culinary experience. Apparently, there is a new chef.... let's just say we returned 2 dishes for saturation in dressing and the pasta was undercooked, pasty, and the ravioli stated "weird". But the other dishes were fine. We were seated in a side room to ourselves as if we were being punished. There was plenty of seating in the main restaurant. The chair cushions were lumpy. Our server was excellent and made the world of difference.

George Washington would be proud to know that his namesake is on this beautiful, historic inn. Right next to Washington's Crossing Park on the Delaware, the inn has beautiful gardens for outdoor dining and is a popular venue for wedding receptions. The inside of this inn keeps in historic character, yet has been kept in museum-quality elegance.

After crab soup and salads, a dinner of pork chops and halibut were perfect choices for a special meal with old friends. Perfect ambiance in the Secret Garden, good service, and an overall great dining experience. Just a delightful meal in the perfect outdoor garden. An enhanced beer offering would improve the draw for those who like interesting and unique brews, but that is our only suggestion for improvement.

Food and service were excellent. We were seated in a room just off the kitchen. There was a wedding that evening and the steady stream traffic through our room for the first half of our meal made us feel like we were sitting in a hallway. Also, the seats are too low. I felt like I was having to reach up to eat my meal. We will return, but to sit in another room.

We had an outside reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday; however it was pouring that evening.. so we had to settle for a dining table inside the main dining hall; the waitress was happy to accommodate us near a window overlooking the main street. We could not taste the Tapas menu... as it is restricted to outdoor setting.. we will need to go back for that.. However the salad and the starters were very good.. Overall a nice dining experience.

This is the 3rd year in a row that my husband and I have met my friend at Washington's Crossing Inn for brunch. We love the location, and the historic setting. The food is always very good, but this year we came near the end (1:30) so things were picked over-especially the dessert table. The 1st 2 years we came and had AnnaMarie for a server-she is wonderful. This year we had Jenn-she was about as friendly as a robot. We left her a $15 tip, and I think that was very generous compared to how she came across to us. My friend is not able to hear, and she had no patience for her. In spite of the service this time around, I would go back in a heart beat, any history lover would be happy there.

My Friend and myself were a little early for reservation, so we stopped at the bar for a cocktail, then I went to tell the hostess that we were there & would be ready to be seated at her convenience. She said come see me when your ready as your table is ready. Waitress was friendly & had knowledge of entries. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner and stopped at the bar on our way out to listen to live music & have an after dinner drink. Overall a nice experience

The Washington Crossing Inn is always a nice change in our regular rotation of restaurants. Everything was lovely when we had lunch there for Mother Day. The weather was perfect, plenty of tables outside, attentive busboys. Our only problem was our waitress. There were four of us. Opening drink orders were two mimosas, tonic water, and one mojito. All drinks took a long time but the mojito was extra late holding up any mother's day toast there might have been. And then our party who ordered it said it wasn't made right. Lunch order also extremely slow and my husband's appetizer salad never came. Unfortunately those kinds of things stick with you. An inattentive waitress can make or break a memory.

It was quiet, elegant, fine service and the food was presented with flair one finds with fine cuisine. I held back the fifth star only because I thought the menu seemed a bit limited. It's not a high volume place so I get it; you can't expect a wide choice of entrees. Having said all that I really appreciated the chef's finesse with my scallops. Very nice and you don't get just that anywhere.

When we were there last October, our waitress was fantastic! This visit not so good! Waitress (Jenn) was extremely inattentive to details and never brought rolls until we asked the Manager to bring them. "We ordered a loaf of garlic bread, didn't think you wanted rolls." I don't eat the garlic bread, my partner wanted the bread. Never cleaned crumbs off the table between courses (was done last time). I could go on, but...

I took my parents to say thank you for all of their support, and my two (single digit) children too. The Inn catered to their bail ride tastes and palettes with superbly prepared steaks, pork that was amazing and hand crafted broiled burgers for the children. My 8 year old daughter and I wolfed down the oysters to start and the shrimp cocktail was simply out of this world. Rounded off by great desserts everyone left thoroughly satisfied. Now, my kids are (very) well behaved which probably contributed to the smooth running of the evening but The Inn contributed too. They had a large reception that evening. Not one time was the excellent service and quality of cuisine compromised.

Washington Crossing Inn offers a wonderful three-course lunch in their outdoor garden patio for a very reasonable price. We also had the option of choosing from the regular menu. My friend and I took our mothers out to lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the setting. I had the watermelon salad which had a nice combination of greens, watermelon, and feta with a light dressing. I chose salmon for an entree, and the lime panne cotta for dessert. All were very good. Our server was very attentive. We will definitely return.

The restaurant has been renovated and looks quite elegant. We ate in the glassed in enclosure and it was lovely. The wait staff was most attentive, the bread was wonderful, and my lamb chops were sumptuous. My only negative comment is that my salad needed more of the interesting additions to the field greens. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon. Al in all, this was the perfect place to celebrate our special occasion.

Food was surprisingly good… we sat in the main dining room. Ambiance is a bit stark versus expectations… the porch could use some warmth. Go a bit later as we dined "early bird" and seemed to be among a lot of grey hair….
